It was good, but not EPIC. The ending was helter skelter... how one of the characters re-enters the fighting after he's already been killed makes the Director look pretty stupid. The premise and the story is good, but somehow it went impotent in the end and all the blood couldn't make up for it.

I thought it was boring..nothing happens in the first hour and then the battle sequence that lasts for the rest of it is nothing special. oh and that bandit guy..he got a sword through his neck among other things but at the end hes still alive like nothings happened. is he supposed to be a god or something like that other one who survives asks.... only explanation.. -_-

@dageezerboi It's basically just a suit of indestructible armor. There's nothing in it. In the comics, there is a way to control the armor, kinda like you ARE inside, but they completely omitted that aspect of the armor.

This movie is the BEST, it is now my favorite number ONE follow by Seven Samurai of all films. Don't get me wrong, Seven Samurai was the greatest, but being born into watching late 90s color motion pictures got me liking and wanting to rewatch 13 Assassin a lot more.

BTW some American director is remaking 47 Ronin in 2012 >.<, with Keanu Reeves as the star, arghh I wish they would just leave it to the Japanese man..seriously.

Yes. It is suggested that he may be the Monkey God present in the Buddhist religions, and therefore the party has divine blessing on their endeavour. That is also implied by the shocked and shaken look of the girl he loved in the flashback, who was washing in the mountains. At least I interpret it that way.

Man people don't really read or watch movies these days, only what is shoved down their throats by Hollywood goons. This is a remake of a 1963 film, which in itself was a sort of lift from the classic 7 samurai/Shichinin no samurai by Akira Kurosawa. I hate to ask for thumbs up, but thumb up please so kiddies watching this don't think it's just a shitty anime/300 remake. It is so much more than that. And i love it for it.
