  • How old is your bass? That body seems a perfect color match for the headstock. Very rare on natural wood - is it the patina? (Birdsong player)

  • if anyone thinks bass is boring then they also think music is boring & need to look in the mirrow & and get humble...

  • "And janette wrote just a hair before the jury shama"

HAHAHA i love the CC button

  • Just wanted to thank you for doing these videos, I just got my bass on Christmas and only played ukulele before then. All of your videos with the tabs have me playing it perfectly by the end of the video. Thanks a lot, you're superman

  • Thanks - a really great video tutorial

  • yea blues BASSics!!

  • what bass do we have here??

  • @TheFenderJazz Fender P-Bass. A very nice one here indeed.

  • you the man!!

  • OMG THANK YOU SOO MUCH DUDE...now thats a good tutorial

  • maneuvered finger will play the jewish are mama for fret.

    Sounds good.

  • 0:50

Men today strain your first finger

  • 4:28 "Mama lands known which just get a nice weekend"

    Besides that nice lesson tho:)

  • how do i deaden the strings?

  • i love how the cc english transcription transcribes the bass guitar for example "and group do and gu and and who had died blues and roots" wtf

  • One very good bass lesson here.

  • The CC thing is pretty funny, I suppose thats why its in Beta, lol

  • yo old man try to stay in this century don't go to the past, nahh i am joking good job

  • tom: "okay, so now we're gonna play this open E"

English transcribe: "so now we're gonna play this time albany"

are you serious??? CC button sucks

  • thanks..i will practice this

  • can you replace the thing that the hold the strap (please reply)

  • @chilibro hey, do you mean the place where the straplock is located? if you want too move it too the back of the body (or anywhere else), it sure is possible, but do it very carefully too prevent your wood from bursting.

  • @Basstard22 what i mean is that im new to bass playing and bought an old used one and one of the straplocks (if that what its called) is missing and i was wondering if i could just buy one and put it on there?

  • @chilibro yes that's possible :-) best thing to do is taking you bassguitar with you to a local music shop, since you have strapbuttons, and straplocks. straplocks have thicker screws for the attachment, so if there was a straplock before, you can't place a strapbutton back, since that screw is too small.

if you want too see the difference between those straps, just search on google for images.

    good luck with it.

  • @Basstard22 well if i couldnt put a "straplock" on it could i put a "strap button"?

  • @Basstard22 but could i replace a strapbutton hole with a strapbutton?

  • @chilibro sure you can

  • @Basstard22 but could you replace a strapbutton with a strapbutton?

  • Thanks Tom,learnt something.

  • Who is we? You are alone Mr.Vickery...

Sweet bassline though, makes me feel like i'm walking along on a farm

  • Fantasitc

  • PLEASE use fingers 1 and 4. If you ever play a fretless, you will never have decent intonation without fingers that are parallel to the frets and NOT at a slight angle. Even if you do not go on to fretless or upright playing, this stretch is unnecessary and puts strain on the muscles. GOOD TECHNIQUE = the most efficient motions, using the least amount of energy needed to get the sound you want.

  • (more) - Analogy. Imagine walking and running. You MAY be able to walk with straight, stiff legs, and even run for short distances, but you are doing damage to your body, and you will NEVER be able to "fly" and run with endurance with this bad "walking/running" technique. If you don't trust me, trust master teachers like Carol Kaye who has written extensively online about this widespread issue.

  • Thanks it really helps!!!

  • Thanks Tommy Helped a whole lot I love the Blues!!!!

  • @cbnygiants

what? because hes showing you how to start off playing?

you need to listen to some good bands for christ sake, bass is not boring at all.

  • @cbnygiants Ever listened to korn? Red Hot Chili Peppers? Ant-Flag? Hell any good rock band? Bass is anything but boring. Without it any song would sound completely spineless.

  • @cbnygiants By the looks of @rangersleadtheway10 comment to you, you said bass is "boring". Look up some Flea bass solos, THEN you can say bass is boring.

  • @rangersleadtheway10 Bass is like the balls and guitar is like the dick. You can't do to much without the other.

  • @cbnygiants it's boring when you're learning it. But once you can play... it's no less kick ass than playing guitar. Listen to some Primus, Iron Maiden, Who, Zeppelin.

Although I don't care for the music style much listen to some psychobilly or rockabilly stuff. it's pretty impressive stuff.

  • @cbnygiants are you gay???

  • vintage

  • He kinda sounds like Dr. Phil. O_O

  • lol yea

  • Do you know the musical alphabet?

  • whats a thret ?

  • @DemiSelenaHilaryfan

Maybe you're asking what a fret is. A fret is each of the lines that goes across the neck of your guitar (or bass guitar in this case)

  • ohh, ok thanks

sorry i sound dumb, cuz im new at guitar so i don't know anything about it.

    thanks!

  • when somone says they gonna kill you

  • excellent!!

  • Hee guys,

    Really nice lesson.

    I've got a tip:

This is a nice pattern, in E,

lets say, after you played this pattern twice in E, do the same, but one string higher

    in A

    its cool

after u should try to do it in B, but that's a little bit different. Just so you know
