  • Tim admitted that this song was pretty much bullying and he doesn't sing it anymore. :( he totally should!

Ok there may be cases when it's NOT the overweight person's fault. Healthy food has been proven to be much more expensive than junk. People with cœliac disease gain weight. Or hey, giving birth to 2-3 kids does the trick! Etc. But obesity? No! Obesity = gluttony + laziness.

  • @segjulie Well it is their fault really, the amount of people who work their ARSE off to get their figure back after a baby! My mum is 41 and it took her 6 weeks to get her figure back after my baby sister haha, which is QUICK!! Space the births out, don't have 3 kids in 5 years my god. You should space them out for disease-detecting reasons anyway (autism for example). It's easier to eat an apple than drive to maccas I think everyone would agree too haha.

  • 69 dislikes ;D

  • The only thing that bothers me about this song, is when he says Ectomorph instead of Endomorph. Oh well.

  • I want to stand in a fast food store and sing this.

  • I blame my being fat on the fact that I'm a lazy fuck who eats too much.

  • @OneStarRatingLTD *Applauds* This is the main reason for me being fat too.

  • @OneStarRatingLTD Then stop? It's basic science, either you stop, or your body will stop you. That's a 100% proven fact sir lol :P. May aswell make the decision soon, instead of trying to find someone that will love you "for who you are", we're genetically programmed to avoid those who look unhealthy in anyway, if you were slim as fuck but bright yellow people will steer away cause they don't want offspring with liver disease :P.

  • love it!

  • Did he just say "childrenysm"? lol

  • This is exactly what's so amazing about Tim Minchin, he knows how to get an important message across in a very funny way. Tim Minchin is a genius ahead of his time, I would dare say.

  • i lisned to this while eating a apple

  • I think he meant Endomorph

  • Grand!

  • the 69 dislikes he has is the fat people tht love some cake :P

  • i love how he says "kilos off" :)

  • 67 people are fat enabling parents with obese children

  • I've listened to all of Tim's songs so many times i barely laugh anymore, but i keep coming back cause he's not just a comedian. Every song has such a beautiful tone and rhythm, it all flows together perfectly. Honestly Tim's as high on the list for me as Elton John

  • @knuckles91444 shutup

  • @1BurgerBoy1 You quite obviously have no musical sense at all...

  • @knuckles91444 He's only as high as Elton John for you?Tsk, tsk sir.

  • Wow. I love this guy.

  • This is the best public service announcement I have ever heard!

  • 67 people did not consider a cutback on extra fries...

  • Great message

  • this song is about me.

    xD

  • So so true

  • im a fat kid heh heh

  • @tb91788 aaawwww :)

  • I hate fat kids, especially the real ugly ones that kick their parents legs in for a Big Mac!!! Greedy little pigs.....

  • @jem199068 Did you miss the fact that this song was sort of saying that the kids are that way because of their parents?

Don't hate children for being the way their parents taught them and ALLOWED them to be. Parents are responsible for teaching their children and taking care of them. If they're older than 10, sure, you can be annoyed with them, but otherwise...no.

  • I'm an idiot and stuck with whatever you call the system America uses (for some reason)

About how many pounds is 35 Kilos? haha I imagine the joke while funny now, would be funnier if I knew that xD

  • @Headsetphobias It's about 77 pounds

  • TIM FTW!!! You're an AWESOME F**KING LEGEND!!! >.<

  • Haha where did he get the idea for the song? Lol

  • @sarahwa7 Probably from the growing obesity rates of America and Britain... he was probably trying to make us understand not to be as greedy as we are... cause we're dipshits who don't understand how to think of other countries and give them what they need and what we don't :)

  • @izzyGO52 or he saw a fat kid?

  • @DanielsMind Possibly but Tim is rather complex :L

  • where are the lyrics?

  • @lonzee365 in the description.

  • @lonzee365 click "show more" under the video.

  • hes funny looking and he says off funnyly hee hee

  • Made me giggle xxx LOVE THIS SONG

  • My god this is a fucking awesome song lol. I grew up fat, still a goddamn fatty but I'm 73lbs down, it took me this long to realize there's no excuses.

  • @reflexrg You Rock!

  • @artsmith100 :D

  • The three last picked for pe in my class were skinny as hell.

    (One was me :( )

  • I love this song. The message is amazing, and some people dislike it because it's so abrassive, but this passive approach of being nice and caring to issues hasn't been working well. Solution? BOOMBALADA MOTHERFUCKER!

  • love this song, but an ectomorph is a skinny person...i think he meant endomorph...

  • i work at a coffee store here in canada and it makes me sick the amount of obese people that come through our drive through and buy their kids or their grand kids 2 or 3 doughnuts each! im not skinny myself but never, ever would i think to feed a kid that many in one sitting. yeah give them one ever so often as a treat, but not all the time :s and the only reason im over weight is cause im lazy lol

  • I love how I have polycystic ovaries but I'm not obese!

  • I love this song, but I didn't laugh once. Fat children are the saddest sight I see. But Boombalada has to be the word of the year.

  • @Fanouriou A lot of Minchin's jokes are laughing at the stupidity of the state the world is in.

  • @chiffmonkey I agree that a lot of them are, and I have laughed along with them. I do not believe this one is though.

This is for granting good old shame down to the center of the listeners jiggely butt. The laughter strengthens the shame since you laugh for a moment and then realize "Dang that flubbery blob is my kid"

Then again I love shame. Shame is so important to have, give and take. Reasonable doses sure, but it's what allows us to enjoy ourselves without annoying everybody.

  • @Fanouriou If you never felt guilty, you'd never want to change.

  • I gave this a thumbs up just for the title - after listening to the rest of the track, I know it was a good choice. TIM MINCHIN = WIN!

  • My favorite Tim song <3

  • There is a difference between an adult being overweight by their own choice but a parent should try and keep their child at a regular weight, just like they should try and stop them breaking their bones or catching diseases. It's part of keeping your child healthy and alive.

  • amazing :')

  • Great song and I look forward to seeing it live. He's superb in concert where he is just funny, funny, funny.

  • @andyb190 Afraid he doesn't do this song anymore. Says it was meant to be funny but he never meant to upset people, so he doesn't perform it anymore.

  • Moose who's eaten too much mousse IT'S A HOMOPHONE!!!

  • Hell, I'm fat, But i love this song

  • I think Tim meant endomorph.

  • @outnabout26 Finally! somebody who also thinks it should be endomorph :D (i've said it once but was then shunned by somebody who didn't know what endo/ectomorph was).

  • My brothers are overweight yet my mom keeps bringing them home brownies, Hot Pockets, pizza, french fries and all sorts of crap. They have low self-esteem and I can see their complexes forming right in front of my eyes but I still can't convince my mom to stop. I'm going to have to play this song for her soon.

  • @supervanillabear4 or take all of the food eat it and replace it with fruit

  • shut up im not fat D":

  • BOOMBALADA motherfucker xD

  • I feel sorry for those kids. Adults who do not take proper care of their children and doesn't make sure they don't get taught to follow a self-destructive lifestyle shouldn't be allowed to have them.

  • This guys so interesting a song writer I wish he wasn't a comedian. Yes hes funny but hes so talented I'd buy a serious album so quick.

  • 31 pairs of fat children and their fat mothers disliked this video.

  • so I'm crazy in love with tim minchin...but fo reals? WHY WE GOTTA STIGMATIZE FAT PEOPLE? especially children....

  • @bluestocking9 its not so much fat people as much as just people that are too lazy to make sure their children stay healthy

  • @bluestocking9 It's about stigmatizing dumbass parents who allow their children to become morbidly obese, through neglect and setting a poor example. People who won't force their kids to live healthy lifestyles just shouldn't be parents. And people whose kids are obese need to get a clue and try to get their kids on the right track. Self-acceptance is important, but we should never be tolerant of people who inflict unhealthy lifestyles and attitudes on children.

  • @ktjanzen42 I'm not in disagreement with that. I feel like there's the assumption here that fat=incredibly unhealthy and eating nothing but fried donuts. And honestly, I think there are a lot of things that parents do besides what they feed their children that we should focus our energy on changing.

  • BOMBALADAMOTHERFUCKER have you noticed that you're kids are fat? What you gonna do about that? What you gonna do?

That makes me wet myself EVERY time. Tim Minchin, you legend. <3

  • @TheDoctorwhomad You may need to see a doctor for that!!

  • This is actually sad though. It's true... But, damn, it's funny!!!

  • Where's the lyrics?

  • @rayamweg in the description

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That is all.

  • i cant find this on itunes

  • @567sinclair Yeah, it's sad, he has very little songs on itunes. I'd recommend buying a CD.

  • This almost inspired me diet.

  • @ICantRemember999

    heh, "almost" :)

  • I have an issue with the thing people who learn to eat poorly from their parents develop is the idea that they can do what they want to their own bodies and that it isn't hurting anyone.

Why, no. All that deforestation has nothing to do with paper and everything to do with meat farming these days. Where do you think all the dead cow that fat people put away comes from? The magical Animal Flesh Land?

  • I can only find three issues with this song: the kid's chin.

  • First suggestion is 'Chubby cuppy cake boy' :')

  • well, he says that, but its not always everyones fault that they are fat, I'm fifteen, and have a BMI of 35. I admit its my fault, and I am goign to lengths to lose weight. they may not be the best Idea, but I only want to lose 4 or 5 stone, it'll take hardly any time.

  • @mrgerardwaysgirl Honey, if you're only 15 and you're 70lbs overweight, it IS your parents fault. However, don't do something stupid just to be thin. It's not "only" 4 or 5 stone. It's the equivalent of a 7 year old child. Take it easy, don't try to do it over night and STAY HEALTHY. Better to be fat and alive than thin and dead. It took you YEARS to gain the weight. It will take about the same amount of time to lose it.

  • @ciaochowbella Thankyou, but at the end of the day it was me that was shoving food down my throat, I guess so, but on a programme here theres someone whos lost a stone in a week. there's so much pressure to be skinny in the media and everywhere :/.

  • @mrgerardwaysgirl No, dear heart, at the end of the day, your parents ARE responsible for you.

As for losing 15 lbs a week, that's a crash diet and it's utter madness. Not only will you most likely gain it all back, but most likely 20% more. Don't even start down that road, love.

Best bet, eat healthy, fresh, unprocessed foods.....none of those frozen diet things.....and exercise. Making yourself sick to fit into society is not mentally or physically a smart move.

  • @ciaochowbella mmm. yeah, I think you're right, I've recently been diagnosed with depression too, so I think that might be a contributing factor to why I want to lose weight so quickly, thankyou.

  • @mrgerardwaysgirl Sweetie, stay healthy, be happy and enjoy your life. TRUST ME, appearances that seem SO important as a teen are just not that important for the rest of your life. Cultivate friendships with people who see your inner beauty. I think most teens are depressed because it's just that time of life....hang in there, darling...you're golden.

  • @ciaochowbella Thankyou so much! its not the usual "depression" its severe depression or something, and I have to go on medication, I am in the process of doing that, you are too, thankyou :) x

  • Making me hungry :( lol

  • So much truth behind the comedy. He should team up with Jamie Oliver!!!

  • He'll be dead of an aneurysm

Before his own children ism ten

    genius xD

  • I love the way he says "Boombalada" Amazing song :')

  • Truth is so hard to swallow THANK YOU FOR MAKING US LAUGH AND THINK!!!

  • I didn't laugh too much. :( Great song.

  • Tim Minchin is brilliant.....BUT..... shouldn't that be "mesomorph" (rounded body type) and not "ectomorph" (thin body type)? Don't wish to spoil the party.

  • @novadrian Endomorph is actually the rounded body type but you are right that ectomorph is the thin body type.

  • @HelloImDavid1000 Whoops....you're right! It should be endomorph. Mesomorph is the muscular body type. Thanks.

  • @HelloImDavid1000 Whoops....you're right! It should be endomorph. Mesomorph is the muscular body type. Thanks.

  • @HelloImDavid1000 Whoops!....you're right of course. Mesomorph is muscular. Thanks.

  • TweekDash, thank you for spelling "doughnuts" correctly.

  • @professor2442 There is no correct way to spell "doughnuts". Just like "color" and "colour" are both correct, so are "donut" and "doughnut".

  • @TheBrainPulse

Doughnuts are nut-shaped things made of dough, so that spelling makes sense. The other spelling is just lazy.

  • @andrback....ectomorph used here as many fast people say that they are skinny really but just can't seem to lose weight. Think Cartman in South park...i'm not fat...I'm big boned

  • Too funny, as we live in a world where they actually make diet pet food, for people too stupid to feed their pets less.

  • 57 people have fat children.

  • Genius

  • Any obese people out there don't take too much offence by this song. Now stop wingeing and lift your chin up...... Both of them.

  • Hell, I'm fat, but I know it's my own damn fault, and if I had a kid I wouldn't let him eat nothing but junk food. Working at a convenience store, I saw a woman who took her 10-11 VERY obese daughter to the store every night I worked and bought a gallon of milk and a butt-load of pastries and candy. Pissed me off something awful.

  • @inferno232 Double negatives for the win!

  • @popejimbo1 Oh shit, I did use double negatives. Sorry about that, I'm a bit of a grammar Nazi, and I usually don't never use double negatives unless I'm doing it to make a joke. :P

  • @inferno232 Well we all fuck up from time to time mate :)

  • @inferno232 WAIT... TOO MANY NEGATIVES...

    TOO CONFUSING...

    MUST GET BRAIN WORKING AGAIN...

  • @inferno232 lol.. Your fat, -and- you work in a convenience store? HAHAHAHAHA.. Ur probably a fckng communist.

  • @StopCallingMeJohn HOW DID YOU KNOW?

THE WORKERS WILL RISE AGAIN, CAPITALIST PIG! ONCE WE BRING STALIN BACK FROM THE GRAVE, YOU WILL STAND NO CHANCE AGAINST US AND OUR UNHEALTHY SNACK-FOODS.

  • epic winning

  • There are three things I hate about fatties: their chins.

  • @SuperSmashyfication See, the difference between your joke and Minchins is that his reflects and obvious concern. He really cares that these kids are effectively abused by their irresponsible parents. Whereas you just like putting down fat people.

  • @WalterLiddy Actually I do care about fat kids. Thanks for your internet psychology though. Seeing as you know so much about me, what are my political views? What do I think of pop music? How many people live in my house? Help, I need a lecture from a Youtube cop!

  • @SuperSmashyfication Well, I can say with confidence that you are dimwitted. I based my comments on what you wrote, not on what I imagined you to be like. Nobody claimed to be a cop. Your joke was designed to berate and belittle. In that it contrasts with Minchins, so I'm just calling you out on fancying yourself in some way kindred of his spirit. The fact that his joke contains elements that might be misconstrued as offensive is not permission to make hateful comments.

  • @WalterLiddy Of course I am dimwitted, because you say so. I intended my joke as just that: a JOKE. It is wordplay, as well as a parody of the basic 'these things I hate about X', in that it only had the one thing described as 3. Honestly, I wouldn't expect a 5-year old to have trouble with that bit. And I do not consider myself to be like Tim in any way other than that we both clearly have a better understanding of comedy than you. Not too difficult.

  • Also, parents should try to limit the tendency their children may develop to heal their psychological problems with food (comfort) and make them face their problems sometimes. Education is really important when it comes to food AND life, so many people are just not taking care of kids at all because they are so sweet and innocent and can grow up on their own. And people should be educated about extreme diets, they'll make you fatter in the end. Just learn to eat properly, you'll lose weight

  • @RandomStrixAluco naturally. Our societies have a big problem with food, we encourage people to overeat just because it makes profit and we no longer teach them about what to eat. It's important to eat everything (though, meat isn't necessary if you replace it with a bigger quantity of some vegetables, etc and milk is unhealthy). Health issues creating obesity are sometimes linked to what you eat and take (medicine), it messes with your body permanently. I have hormonal issues and was overfed

  • @RandomStrixAluco as a child (premature baby plus psychological issues dealth with food) and I am no longer fat because I have learned to eat everything without being ashamed and to cook for myself. I eat less and better because it became a pleasure rather than a habit and I listen to my body needs.

It's really is a matter of education in many cases.

  • BOOMBALADA Motherfucker!!

  • his voice is so fucking impressive

  • I'm american, and I had to do SOOO much math in this. I mean 40 x 2 = 95 right?

(I shouldn't encourage american stereotypes since I am one... but whatever.)

  • Truth.

  • @andrback maybe you should stop trusting what you first here you could have easily just miss heard cause if you say them both then they sound alot like each other 

  • @poochnhoney He very clearly says ectomorph in this recording. It was probably just a lyrical misspeak.

  • @HeSheXie JUST LAUGH AT THE FUNNY MAN !!!!!

  • <3

  • Comment removed

  • makes me what to move. as good as some people have it worse

  • Despite this being one of my favourite songs, I've always wondered why he uses the word "ectomorph" at 1:07 to describe a fat person. Ectomorph happens to be the word to describe the skinny body type. The word for a fat body type is endomorph, and could be easily used instead, since it rhymes with ectomorph.

  • I want to show this to so many parents that I know.

  • I normally forget to like things but since Tim said it wow! I remember! :D

  • AWESOME

  • @TweekDash Its a TINY little noise, Right before he says "For".

  • I think it's someone laughing o_o

  • I cant tell if the noise at 1:35 is a guy laughing or crying or doing something else >.> Anyone else know what it is?

  • @WaffleLove246 I think he's laughing xD

  • This is pretty much what I tell my fat friends... and the skinny one's too. Especially after I was watching my friends little 90 pound 6 year old sister panting while eating 2 ice creams.

  • Brilliant song - not only that some Amazing piano playing by Tim.

  • I was listening to this in headphones at work trying to keep quiet, but as soon as he said "Your 6 year-old minieture Jabba the Hutt" I just burst out laughing. People were staring for a while after that.

  • The buffet at pizza hut is fantastic in fairness, as much pizza and garlic bread as your face can manage, plus salad for the weird people (only kiddin, but for me if it didn't walk and taste of bloody horror it's inferior). I'm slightly drunk by the way, but only just under two pints, which in Mitchell and Webb terms means I'm eligable to rule the World.

  • @scaryninja1693 haha just make sure you don't go over two pints or the world will end!

  • @chlowver ;) True, a man with access to nuclear weapons should never get a bit "fighty"

  • "Your 5 year old princess in her size 14 tutu.."

  • He is such an amazing lyricist :D

  • I keep thinking how much Michelle Obama would like this and how much she could use this in her campaign, if she could get past the Minchinosity of it.

  • i feel bad for the fat families in the audience haha true tho

  • Kinda harsh.

But he has a fucking point.

  • LOVED IT!

  • he looks like a clean-shaven pavarotti!!!

  • haha, 51 fat people have seen this video

  • @BAY868 You totally didn't get the point...

  • @BAY868 You quite obviously missed the point of this song entirely.

  • @123runaround He's crying out to lazy parents who feed their children shit food, trying to wake them up to the reality that their actions are going to be extremely detrimental to their children's health and well-being. What group of people could possibly disagree with this message enough to give it a thumbs down? Lazy people who eat shit food...aka fat people...well, fat, stupid people. Fat people could certainly agree with this as well. What part of the message did I miss exactly?

  • @BAY868 Well, there are plenty of lazy people who are skinny (somehow!) who eat shit food, too. Fat doesn't necessarily mean unhealthy unless it's really bad, and unhealthy certainly doesn't mean fat all the time. Generalizing is usually not very smart.

Healthy at Every Size (HAES) is a movement worth looking into. Or, you know, ignorance is fun, too.

But yes, the general message that feeding your kids bad food is bad is an important one to spread.

  • @TheFanwindow I agree completely, it's just that I don't usually put much thought into my posts on youtube because lets face it, not many others do

  • I was trying to have a staring contest with that picture. . . is that normal?

  • @PewPew4Yew Might hurt your ego a bit.
