  • Its Hello Walter!

I have known you for a long time.

    where is thy colleague Hank?

    I think your song wonderfully.

Greetings from Germany Walter friend ULM

  • One of Hanks Best Buck.I was playing this earlier this evening

    Thanks Gord and Jody

  • Sweet job, Buck. BTW There's an extra verse:

Settle Down, far from town, gonna get me a pirogue, and I'll catch all the fish on the bayou, swap my mon, to buy yvonne, what she need-o, well son of a gun gonna have big fun on the bayou

Hank, Jr. added that i think

  • Thanks, no, that verse was in the original and I sang it in the video it is the last verse.

  • I don't think it was in the original, I have it on my mp3 player [40's meet 21st century] And I didn't hear that. I just assumed that since you didn't add it in some of the other renditions that it wasn't on here, sorry.

  • By Gooly your right, just listened to the original and it was not one there. But, I have always sung that 3 verse so not sure where I got it.

  • I'm always right, just ask me, LOL.

I learned it from my Uncle, he did it one nght and added the verse., I asked him to email it to me, and within a day i had all 3 verses down.

  • LOL, who wrote the last verse? Was it Hank?

  • PS: I just listened to Hank's "Demo" version of the song which is the one with just him and his guitar before they Single was recorded. He has the third verse on the Demo so he did write it. The third verse probably made the song too long for radio after the lead parts were added.

  • Oh yeah, I've heard of that album, been wanting to get it for a while. I thought maybe Hank wrote it and didn't add it or Hank Jr. wrote it. BTW Big River by Johnny Cash also had an extra verse but it wouldn't fit recording time, if you look up highwaymen, big river, you can hear them all do a verse, and Waylon Jennings does the one that was left out.

  • Will check it out.

  • Ok, it's a great recording.

  • Enjoy your Jambalaya and.... cheers Buck! RG.

  • Aiiieeee! LOL
