  • This song inspired me to learn guitar and later on, I modded my Les Paul exactly like Greenie. I will be trying to master his style and tones for the rest of my life.

  • hmmm...... i stand corrected, just removed gary moore's overkill nonsense from my list of favourites, this is how it was meant to sound. you learn something every day.

  • Excellent

    Grandma mary

  • Kirwan + Green + Spencer = blues perfection

  • @oclero No McVie or Fleetwood then?

  • That's the sweet stuff baby!!

  • They just crush this song....it is amazing

  • Peter Green's unbelievable singing voice and guitar touch - cover yes, but the unique one. Sad that he was treated very bad in "psychological treatment". Electric shocks and everything...

  • too good song!

  • sexy sexy song

  • peter green legend.

  • its the god its peter green

  • incredible don't make them like this anywhere else

  • Ladies and gentlemen, the best blues cat Britain ever produced. Bar none.

  • One dislike???? How's that even possible?????

  • MrGranousty, I felt the same. With my 47. This is a musical history lesson, given by The Teacher, Mr. Green. Greetings from Skopje

  • I went thru My teenage yearsoutside S F Ca. I was witness to this music. I Can tell you this is the Best Blues by White Boys that has ever been Produced. Peter Green,Danny Kirwan, Jeremy Spencer. In 1970 I moved to Florida and lived where the Alman brothers lived. Dicky Betts and Duane Alman no comparison to theses Guys, Eric clapton either. You Have Good Taste! TAR BABY

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!!!

  • perfect

  • prefect

  • Great upload g3756m. Far better than the shorter version released as a single in the UK in Aug 1968. That summer was a big deal for me - not only left school but saw PG and the Mac for the second time, rockin' a small club in Bournemouth.

    Best live band ever!!

  • am i the only person who automaticly closes his eyes and taps his foot when i hear this record?

  • @bluelickrift nope :)

  • " It wasn't the notes he played it's the ones he didn't play " Pure genius

  • THIS is the definitive release of this track. The UK one sounds incomplete.

  • You've been driving for hours on a lonesome, dusty road going from somewhere to nowhere...you pull in to a little shack of a bar on the side of the road with nothing but one motorcycle and one pick-up truck resting outside...you walk in and order a cold one, find yourself a nice spot in the corner when you light up a cigarette, have a long swig of beer, kick back and this comes on the jukebox...though your journey aint yet complete, somehow you've arrived.

  • @mcprofacy far out man from me in england

  • @mcprofacy thumbs up, this is the stuff dreams are made of

  • @mcprofacy shit man, you pitched it perfectly.

  • @mcprofacy You forgot to add. You see a woman sitting alone on a stool in front of the bar. Her radiant beauty calls to you and you ask her to slow dance this song with you. She accepts and you hold each other tightly for 6 minutes. She then invites you afterwards to her place where you make sweet love to her. The next day, you get back on the road thinking about the night before and have Peter Green's song in your head the whole day while smiling.

  • There's nothing else I need to hear. I've officially heard it all in one song.

  • What a recording. Beautiful vocal and the most perfect guitar playing - no one will ever get close. Pete and Duane (Allman) - thank God they picked up guitars.

  • @bazjanagain mike bloomfield as well

  • @mikebloomfirld66

Yessir - Bloomfield up there too. I heard a story about some session when Robbie Robertson was around and MB jumped on the piano he was so much in awe - I ain't never heard nuthin blues-wise from Robertson that rivals MB's special talent. Good call my man !

  • @bazjanagain wow,ive never heard that cool story.thanksmike was the best!!!!!

  • May be you'll laugh at me, but when I listen this blues song, all my possible dirty feeling goes away and nothing is really important, as I could die without no real problem . . . you laugh ? that's good, I win !

Greeny always stuck my on may chair as if I was stoned, 40 years later !

  • @MrGranousty thats good i win love it man stay cool

  • Beautiful song, and for a 6 minute long track the guitar does just enough, none of this overblown every note in the scale nonsense for 4 minutes - it conveys the emotion of the song and that is enough.

  • Just incredible, one of the most soulful and heartfelt performances I've ever heard in my entire life, words do this no justice.

  • supreme ! ! ~

  • supreme ! ! ~

  • never tire of this beautiful song....

  • This ..... well i could listen to it all night long!!!!!

  • Possibly the best meld of vocal and guitar in sorrow EVER...MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome.

  • @mangeldeth Es hermosa.... como tu, precioso. Gracias por compartirla *

  • This is the extended version you longed to hear when the single came out in 1968. Grateful thanks for the upload.

  • What version is this ? Is there a live version of this by peter?

  • This version and several others are on , The Pious Bird Of Good Omen , album. It is still available on CD

  • @oldportboy this is the US version of the song which I think came out just after the UK version. If you want to hear a live version you should get Shrine 69 (CD) though, it is incredible.

  • @snakespan That Shrine version is my favorite...the most powerful singing and guitar playing. I've sobbed so often while listening to that version. And, that takes nothing away from the others!

  • It doesnt get any better than Peter Green and FM

  • touched xxxxxxx

  • Excellent!!!

    Grandma mary

  • Yes it is excellent. The brilliance of this tune brings tears to my eyes. And Grandma Mary's cover does it credit ;)
