  • Very different from the version that was mass released. It's not too bad, I like it.

  • this 1983 video is different. Its funny how you see ANdrew passing George a note here at the end. In 1984, George must have told the editor to "cut Andrew out of my video" haha.

  • wow that guitar kills the rhythm. George did a much better job.

  • I like George's version better, of course. This one has a little bit too strong beat and keyboards. It's too much a pop song for that, and not a ballad with saxophone leading the whole thing. The violins are too much.

  • It starts weak....but keeps getting better and better to the extend that I actually like the ending better than George Michaels version.

    Overall I do like it.....

  • Great version of this track. It should really be released on a remastered version of the album as a bonus track, along also the video on a DVD compilation also as a bonus track!

  • NOT BAD AT ALL!!:x

  • Well, I kinda liked how it ended, but GM's version is far better

  • the more i hear it..the more honest it is next to the hit version?

  • This version is No GOOD( ̄m ̄ )

It is uncouth as it is a popular song of Japan.

The popular song of Japan also retreats.

  • should have kept the Hammond in though :O(

  • shoulda kept the Hammond in the next version!!

  • The more I hear it the more I like it

  • Wow! I didn't know there was a video of this version too!

  • @carlopontevolpe There isn't, this version of the track was just layed over the video.

  • I don't think it could have been as strong a single as it was if GM hadn't gone back and redone it. This is a decent mix, but pretty weak for radio airplay.

  • 1984 version so much better!! this sound awful!!!

  • nice, never heard this version before...it sounds like a demo, but still nice

  • haha! what an awful mix.

    where'd you find this?

  • This is the first version of "Careless Whisper", produced by Jerry Wexler in 1983. George was unhappy with it, and re-produced the song for its 1984 release. This very first version was released as a b-side on the japanese maxi-single.
