  • Great video, really excellent for people who run servers as workstations. Thanks (i also have a gaming machine and one for doing music etc etc)

  • heating up an hobby knife blade works much better..; ) Thanks

  • @nerdishuk

Does the Radeon 5450 support 3 monitors by itself? I own one, but have only had the chance to run 2

  • can you sli? :P

  • very clever, ive only just found out that all PCIe slots are downwards compatible, this is a total revelation for me!!

  • if i had a gtx 570 and a 8600gt , a 8600gt only allows 2 displays and so does the gtx 570 , could i use 3 displays by doing this?

  • this is such a ghetto mod

  • Finaly did it by shorting pins A1 and B17 , know I'm still wondering if a sli will work betwen a x1 & a x16 with 2 8800gt ?

  • nerdish or nordish?

  • Can i play games with this configuration?

  • Can you play games with this config?

  • works wonders !! 2 hd radeons... xfx and asus ... :) thanks.

  • I pued a hd3450 in a x1 slot but doesen't sems to be detected, hoever the 8800gt it's working ok, wuld it be a bad ideea to try the 8800gt in the x1 slot?

  • biggest question...........why?

  • safest way is just to buy an adapter, though the project and idea sounds cool :P

  • surely you could have just brought an adapter ?

  • Hello, I am Brazilian and in very bad English, if I put two hd5670 on my computer, can connect 6 monitors? has an answer for your video, you have seen? 6 are two monitors connected to boards. if you can help me, thanks.

  • Hello, I use two hd5670 cards, 6 monitors can be connected to the same computer? a response to your video has so can you help me? thanks

  • eehm is it me or did i see that 1 radeon hd 6000 series supports eyefinity 6?

  • @5468295 Yep, and at the cost of £300+ then you have to get the DP to VGA or DVI Cables (£20/30)..

This costs him £30 for the ATI HD 5450 as he already had a HD 6850.

And this isnt limited to AMD/ATI cards, this works with nVidia too, just their own brand of software.

  • @nerdishcouk Ehm. NO, this does not work with nVidia cards... Single GPU nVidia cards only support 2 monitors per card...

  • Hello, I use two hd5670 cards, 6 monitors can be connected to the same computer? a response to your video has so can you help me? thanks

  • @CASSIANOCAVARESE1 i don't know if it works on the 5670 but i've seen people do that on an hd 5850

  • Why not just use circular saw?

  • I have a dell sc420 with a x16 slot that only has pins for x8 but next to the missing pins there are capacitors on the baord. So im going to solder in a real x16 slot and see what it runs at or maybe the board and the card will blow up

  • Great video, good idea with the soldering iron!

It annoys me that most motherboards come with closed ends on X8/X4/X1 slots. Back when the 5850 wasn't supported for OSX86, I wanted to stick a cheap Nvidia 8400 in the X4 under the 5850 but couldn't because of the closed end!!

  • Nice video!

  • Very interesting. It would be nice if in the future the MOBO manufactures left the back of the 1x, 4x and 8x PCIE slots open. Perhaps they will after seeing your video.

  • @adobePC i think some do/used to leave open the x4 and x8 slots, i saw a picture of one which gave me the idea.

  • @nerdishcouk

    Cool.

I have not watched your videos in a while. I am glad I seen this one.
