  • I can't stop staring at her hair!

  • 2:14

    Jessica Lange...LOL.

  • Jessica Lange was piiissseeddd

  • she is my hero

  • Jessica.Lange's.face.

  • Why does this emotional drool case have to make such a scene when she wins an award? It's become such a cliche with her.

  • 2 people don't like her.

  • @rpm2004 your comment made me giggle.

  • You love me! You really love me!

Of course, she never actually said it.

  • She's so cute. I love Sally Field

  • LMAO my she reminds me of my grandma, especially in Steel Magnolias when she's Southern, cause my grandma's Southern.

  • always be nice to ppl on the way up but that is it actor ppl! u can treat everyone else bellow you like trash!

  • My Vote would've gone to Judy Davis. Such an underrated actress.

  • she only says you like me, where did the you really like me come from?

  • So she never said "you REALLY like me" did she?

  • @ColtraneTaylor The "you really like" line was used by Sally the following year, when she presented the Best Actor award. She said, "Props to best actor, so let's see which one you like, you really really like."

She said that as a way of poking fun at herself.

  • "Places In The Heart" is one of the best movies ever made and it was far better than those other movies that were nominated. Sally did a great job in this movie. Anyone who doesn't like it must have shit for taste in films!

  • Always thought Sally Field had it going ON!

  • If there was ever any doubt

    that actresses (and many actors)

are seeking approval from others to an unhealthy degree

    Here it is

    :P

  • @savagegalt Agreed, insecurity galore.

  • Why do alot of people misquote that she said "you like me! You really like me!"?

  • Jim Carrey did the best parody of this in 'The Mask'

  • I so remember this.

  • I so remember this even though I was born in 1985 and this happened in 1983.

  • This is considered one of the weakest line up in oscar history - most of the actresses were like yeah whatever - its nice to see though that all of them have had good success since then although Jessica Lange has had her ups and downs.

  • Sally has been regretting this speech for years - she even made fun of it the year after.

  • thumbs up if u came to see tom hagen

  • Whoever disliked this is mental. It's Sally Field WE LIKE HER! RIGHT NOW!

  • Maudlin

  • what is the trouble with this speech????? why the academy hated sally field after this spech, you like me, , i don t understand

  • Judy Davis was the one that really deserved this one. Field is annoying. And by the way, with the exception of "A Passage To India", what a bunch of largely forgettable movies these actresses starred in. I can't believe "Places In The Heart" also won Best Screenplay that year; clearly, 1984 wasn't good for mainstream H'Wood movies.

  • Did you all see the look on Jessica Lange's face when the announcement was made? She look ticked off.

  • vanessa was brilliant (and always) and judy was spectacular. it clearly should've been between the two of them!

  • I LIKE her necklace.

  • "...and I've wanted more than anything to have your respect. The first time I didn't feel it, but this time I feel it..."

Kind of an ironic statement, since her co-nominees seem a lot less pleased with her win this time around then with the one for "Norma Rae."

  • What year was this???

  • @HollowAxer 1985

  • has anyone seen the other performances? cos read somewhere that sally field`s performance wasnt the best one.

  • has amyone seen the other performances? rcos ead somewhere that sally field`s performance wasnt the best one.

  • I've never seen Judy Davis look as sexy as this before. Her film was the only memorable one of the nominations..

  • Good lord. Did she win best actress TWICE?

  • @bootymanager is jealous! LMAO. Go Sally! She truly deserved it.

  • @bootymanager Why is it cringe-worthy and why would she regret it?

  • @rpm2004 I have to agree, it is a bit cringe worthy. Just because it's awkward.

  • 4 of them has won an an oscar before, IMO it should have been Judy Davis.

  • I like her! Right now! I LIKE her! ...but it's weird and kind of unfortunate how all the nominees look so stone0cold and stone-faced grim--lighten up! why so serious?

  • Judy Davis is so beautiful here.

  • this is such a cute speech just lik her. : )

  • LOVE Judy Davis! Such a fascinating, moody actress.

  • @Messylin The Amazing thing is Judy Davis in "A Passage to India" was her most subtle work.

  • 3 of the 5 nominees were about women running a farm, strange coincidence, huh?

  • I wonder how her speech morphed into "...you really, really like me."

  • YOU LIKE ME!!!!

lol anyone else see Jessica Lange's face.....priceless

  • Comment removed

  • Check out Jessica Lange little & mean facial expression when Robert announces the winner! Priceless :-)

  • @vapalaca Jessica Lange is a bitch - propably - thats why Sally Field is still winning awards and Jessica is covering from her botox addiction.

  • One of the most infamous speeches in Oscar's history is uploaded at last. Now Vanessa Redgrave's win in 1977 please...

And look how pissed is Jessica Lange when Field's name was announced!!!

  • Most. classic. speech. ever.

  • thank you Oscars for posting this vid :))
