  • i want a device wich can convert anny mono, stereo analogue source into 5,1 dolby true hd,trough noise filtering, frequency saperation, and upsampling from 16bit to 24/32bit.

and that it will amplifier the low frequecy,s for the subwoofer, and the hich frewuency for those speakers!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can somebody explain me the difference between dolb digital and dolby true hd?

  • dolby truehd is the absolut next level of dolby laboratories.

dolby digital is with 448kbs (now 640kbps) limited in quality.

for normal user total enough of course. but now with bluray you also need something to compare with the picture so there we are with the new format. its totaly amazing. no quality loss. because it is a lossless audio format. so you will never hear a diffrence between the original and this one. but still the size shrinks a little bit.

  • all right thanks. im still gonna get a dolby digital set since my room aint that big, and i need it for gaming 90% of the time and since games are limited to dolby digital im gonna stick with that.

  • @metaltilldeath111 In a word, everything. Dolby Digital uses lossy compression at a fixed bitrate of up to 640kbps, while TrueHD uses an updated version of the same lossless compression that powered DVD-Audio (they bought the rights to it) and variable bitrate complession at up to 18mbps. So, in short, it's noticeably better, even if you're listening to a downsampled version.

  • @cubdukat - You are correct!

  • @sexydanny21awesome Um...no? DTS-HD also provides a lesser version of itself just the same as TrueHD.

And if DTS is a failed format, how do you explain that it is now more prevalent than TrueHD? Universal, Warner Bros., Fox, MGM, and Lionsgate have dumped Dolby. That doesn't leave a whole lot. And yes, it IS more prevalent; there's research to back it up. If they would just loosen up their licensing requirements, Dolby could be back on top.

  • @cubdukat Actually, I should clarify that. Those companies have for the most part dumped TrueHD, but there is a Dolby Digital Plus fallback.

I tell you what, if I were DTS, I could live with that kinda failure...

Personally, I'm a format agnostic kinda guy. Just so long as I can rattle the paint off my wall and break windows, I could care less what format it's in.

I notice that Dude's questions seem to have been removed. Just sayin'...

  • @metaltilldeath111 - One is lossy, the other is lossless! ;D

  • DTS-HD Master Audio kills TrueHD.

  • correct. you have like no limits with dts-hd master audio. you can make an 22.4 channelset with 192kHz.

this is not possible with dolby th.

  • @eikira - But TrueHD also does this! ;D

  • @Rebeccachu

like i said comparing to possibilities dts-hd master kills truehd.

7.1 channels with lossless in 24bit full 192khz in all channels

in truehd you can get only 96khz maximal if you use 7.1

also the bitrate is higher on dts.

  • @eikira - OH I SEE

  • @eikira - But Dolby TrueHD also supports 7.1 sound! IT'S TRUE! SERIOUSLY!

  • @Rebeccachu do you even think when you post comments? read my posts. i said the posibilities with dts-hd are higher. moron.

  • @eikira - Whatever you say. Just don't bother me.

  • @theemceemurdah - OH NO IT DOSEN'T

  • i hear its not even worth the extra dough, it just makes conversation quiet then a fucking defoning explosion following that

  • unless u get urself an audessy device which can regulate the volume automatically..so if there is a quiet conversation it automatically turns the volume up..

  • It's all about TrueHD no doubt!

  • NICE!
