Heat is one of my favorite films. This song gave me chills every time I watched it! but I could not find it anywhere for the life of me. One day I was in the shower and put on the best of Moby on shuffle. It comes on when Im standing in the shower. That was a good day.
@Orfeus2009 You got to be joking!! This movie is anything but shit. It is my all time favorite movie. Supreme actors, great action, brilliant plot. Simply a masterpiece.
Wow who are those six people who do not like this song??? Shame on you six.. This is one of the best song ever and Heat was one of the best movie ever made.
A guy told me one time, "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner."
We all try to live stand up honest lives. The movie is an excellent portrayal of how ppl can have the same goals with circumstance and society blinding them to what they have in common.
One of my favorite movies of all time. Even though there are criminals out there, it dosent mean theyre without souls and hearts. And even though I dislike cops, they too are going through life just like us. It is an amazing portrayal of good cops and decient criminals.
One moment in that final scene which is a true testament to Pacino's abilities as a film actor is his expression after he takes De Niro's hand. He's taking in the night, and as he looks out on his city, despite the release he feels in this particular moment, he knows that his job is far from over. He's finished a chapter in his life as a police officer, but there are still many, many pages remaining. He's won this battle, but the war will continue to rage. What an amazing actor.
@jetsontheair Yeah, I know, but I thought it was released as separate Moby´s album. I know the song particulary from the soundtrack. So it is not news information for me, but thank you :)
@slamer2000 I totally agree with you. I have seen this movie several times and that scene still gives me the goosebumps. I can't believe that film didn't win an oscar for best picture for that particular moment at the end.
I met a man once and talked with him about his life and the choices he'd made, he had no regrets about what he'd done and he wouldn't change a thing even if he could. As we spoke i realised he was right and no matter what he'd done he couldn't have done anything differently...In the end we both went out seperate ways never to meet again. The impression we left on the other from that day would last for the rest of our lives. From Father to Son
I watched this in cinema with friends in 1995 and our jaws literally hit the floor during the shootout scene. The ending was amazing especially with this music. I remember sitting on the train going home with friends, nobody spoke, I know we were all thinking of the film with the music playing in our heads. I had goose bumps all over my body, amazing! No other film has had this effect on me since.
@J4hed This is what great cinema should be all about. I'm happy to hear you experienced this feeling :) I felt the same way after watching a few movies. The last time this happened was at the end of ... I think it was Enter the Void.
@J4hed Its Michael Mann's camera and music work.. the first time I felt like that was the Miami Vice series back in the 80's.. never seen such good use of camera shots and music. Ever since I can always recognise Mann's films by it.. even before I know its one of his films.. ManHunter is the same which is another one of Manns.
@J4hed It's my favourite film. It's a masterpiece. No film could ever have matched De Niro and Pacino the way Heat did. They played off each other so brilliantly. Yeah I remember the first time I saw the shootout scene. So authentic and gripping. And the way the film ended with this song playing was perfection.
@qqkool heat- a 1995 film with robert de niro and al pacino. great film, probably both de niro's and pacino's last truly great movie. u should definitely watch it
As a christian I find this music particularly moving because it was used in a performance of John Bunyans Pilgrims Progress by Saltmine Theater company recently. They used it for the scene where Pilgrim walks up the hill to the cross of Jesus and when he gets there all his sin (which has been symbolised by a great big rucksack) falls off his back and rolls down the hill into the abyss never to be seen again. After that I saw Heat on TV and heard the music again so I just had to find it! Thanks!
Wow, go Moby! This is the only youtube video I've ever come across that had a good number of views and not a single thumbs down! Now someone's probably going to thumb it down just because I said that :(
Amazing. If an apocalypse ever comes I will do my best to get to the highest point I can, play this through my earphones and watch the world end in peace.
One of my favourites from Moby, l fell in love with it after hearing it on the movie Heat....which is a favourite as it features both Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in it.
Love that picture of them in the restraunt scene ;))
Thanks for uploading this ;) This is going into my favourites!
If you're offended because the person who made the video didn't capitalize God, don't dislike the song, the song didn't do anything bad.
