Ok this pastor is a fool and does not know the bible, NUMBERS 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? her father did not believe in jesus because is avodah sorah or separation from God to believe in any form of idol. Also the pastor failed to understand that her Jewish father submitted to the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. He honored and obey his father the GOD of the TORAH.

As a generality, there's not much wrong with what he's saying, but I can see Kim Il Sung musing to himself, "hmm, I'm told I can make these people do anything I want, as long as it's not a sin..."

For now, Dear Leader may be satisfied with ordering Mark Driscoll to do jumping jacks while doing a rap number. Maybe tomorrow he'll command him to cut off a finger. Or to start paying a $10,000, per instance, prayer tax for his amusement.

On what basis could he refuse? Are these sins also?

human need always supercedes the law- check out the story of david and the preists bread, the woman who lied to protect the two spies in jericho, etc.... The sabbath was created for man, not the other way around- if your parents are dictators, abusive, mentally or phsyically dont put yourself or your siblings through abusive parents... plus the less you let them abuse you the less wrath they build up for themselves from God...

Should government officials obey the constitution they swore an oath to God to uphold? Or should they obey their paycheck? (Mat 6:24)

Should peter have obeyed God or man? Act 5:29

Should the Nazis obeyed the order to gas Jews?

Should three Jewish boys have bowed to Nebuchadnezzar's statue? Dan 3

Does "Thous shalt have no other gods before Me" allow an exception to be superseded by man made laws? (ex 20:3)

Well mostradicalmanever, I think some of those powers can be over-ruled by God, because God is the ultimate authority. So if Hitler is telling you to kill a Jew, but in your heart God is telling you not to, then I'd obey God over man. Same goes for the Nebuchadnezzar story. Also, the "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me" kind of goes along with what I said before; don't obey man before you obey God. But if God doesn't intervene, then go along with the authority of man. Does that make sense?

"Some"?? Can be over ruled by God?? (Is He really your God!?) Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith! (Heb 12:2; Rom 13)

(Author is root word for Authority!)

So

Those in authority over us speak the Word of God over us. (Heb 13:7 )

Do politicians who condone murder (abortion, killing enemies rather than loving them Matt 5:44) speak the Word of God over us?

Dont encourage people to take the mark (Rev 13). (its a law!)

Follow Jesus only! (matt 10:28; Mat 4:10; Luk 6:46).

These well intentioned obey the law of the land teachings are dangerously close to having sheep trusting worldly doctrines OVER Jesus.

God wants us to be separate and for us to come out of the world. (2Co 6:14-18; Rev 18:4).

Question:

Did Jesus command us to make disciples or vote for change (Mat 28:18-20).

He isn't saying obey laws of men before the laws of God. He even says, if you can't obey your employer find a new job. The three Jewish boys obeyed God's law when they refused to bow to the idol. With a little maturity I think its easy to see the difference, though, between idol worship and pot smoking. The Christian with a rebellious chip on the shoulder can be a real hinderance to the kingdom. As Peter wrote elsewhere, As much as lieth within you live at peace with all men.
