  • Would you say that this trail is good for downhill biking?

i ride a specialized big hit fsr 1, full suspension.

  • @xPersianxKing...It is mostly downhill but this trail is for hiking only. It is a preserved Redwood Forest. I believe California is the only place in the world that has giant Redwoods. You really should not ride a bike on these trails.

  • @pouncey007 Not all of it is for biking, notice where he started, there was a bike rack to lock your bike up. That was the end of the bike portion from Hwy 1

  • Thanks. My bike is a drop bar Bianchi Axis (2005) and it looks similar to a road bike, but it isn't a Road Bike. It's a Cycle Cross Bike. The frame and gearing on it are basically like a Mountain Bikes. It also has knobby tires and pretty beefy rims, but it's geometry is similar to that of a Road bike. This bike is awesome for trails like this one. It flys on fire trail type of terrain, but is not so great on really rough/rocky terrain.

  • Man, that looks pretty rough. I couldn't stop thinking about how great shocks and some wider tires would be! Amazing trail though, I love Big Basin!

  • pretty cool where iz that at?

  • The Skyline to the Sea trail is located in Big Basin State Park. The trail head starts at the Western entrance to the Park on Highway 1 at Waddell Creek. The entrance to the Park is about 10-15 miles North of Davenport on Highway 1. Enjoy!
