Went to war with neighbouring tribes, used weapons seen in the film which are designed to incapacitate a victim so they can be captured, and taken back to be sacrificed to the gods. that movie gives the aztec (who were the ones in the cities by the time the spanish showed up if i remember correctly) kind of a bad rap. ok, yes they sacrificed allot of people, but life in their cities wasn't the brutal anarchy its portrayed in this film. the chinese killed millions of their own people in the name of communism, but life for your average chinese citizen is actually quite boring. people do the same with ancient romans. they assume their all heartless bastards.

this movie has nothin to do with Aztecs, this movie is about Mayans. it is historically incorrect because the Spaniards arrived in the Aztec empire first, and the movie shows Spaniards arriving in Mayan land or land that was close to the Mayans. the spaniards went from the Aztec empire to the Mayan civilization by land, not sea.

and it is also incorrect cuz the movie shows the Spaniards arriving while the Mayans were still strong, but civil war had destroyed the Mayan civilization already.
