Tekken 6 kinda was a let down for me. They made it way to easy to combo especially when your opponent is on the ground, And Azazel and Nancy are fucking cheesier than Jinpachi.
@PokemonLPwatcher almost, but the characters just dont connect as well, and in recent years the characters theyve added i could just care less for. correct me if im wrong but the fighting system just doesnt seem to be a smooth or as good either now. the voice acting is just awful in most soul calibur entries too. dont get me wrong, its a GREAT fighting series, and i can appreciate that its made by the same developers as well. SC2 wa probably my fav fighting game ever, but still
@ClutchLikeObama well he said that he also played sf and is now interested in tekken. If he played sfxt he would have got tekken people in a familar sf style. Also txsf is coming out awhile later.

@JranimatorAlexander Maybe it might be because you are new to the series and dont really understand how it works. Ive been a tekken fan practically my whole life and i thought Tekken 6 was quite easy (apart from the very last boss, he was just a dick haha) but, I found everyone else fairly easy and at the normal Tekken Standards

@NeedaBettrName if you haven't got this yet then you probably should wait for the kickass SFxT. Tekken is cheap though and is a good choice. I got Tekken 6 a while ago to get a feel for Tekken cause I am also a SF fan and I already have SSF4. You probably should rent it to at least see if you like it.

Tekken has always been my favourite fighting game, I just find that in street fighter you can throw fireballs and all, but in Tekken you are actually using real fighting, example- Eddy using Capoeira, and Lei using the five main fighting styles of Shaolin
The worst thing Namco could do to a Tekken game is definately the scenario. God it's so horrible and it works terrible. Tekken Ball Mode was way more fun than that waste of a horrible game mode.

@Grungeaintdead101 Dunno, I've only played Tekken Dark Ressurection not Tekken 6, but compared to the others (Tekken 2, etc), Tekken 5 is really good. Lots of good characters, modes and such. I'm actually thinking of picking this up. Aparently it is the same only better. More characters, modes, customization, etc plus what you already have in Tekken DR. Plus, Tekken DR plus online was 30 dollars last time I checked and a used copy of Tekken 6 is about $18 now.

The issue is that Tekken sucks. Poor game mechanics, cartoon-y characters and the fact that they are STILL too afraid to show impacts and hide them behind annoying starbursts have sabotaged the series from the beginning. The Dead or Alive series is much better, but suffers from lack of variety in characters with too many ninjas.

Also honestly, the best soulcalibur games were the old one, so if your looking for an awesome soulcalibur game, get soulcalibur II, because it IS the best.

1st the lag may ruin your fun and experience 2nd to rank up all your characters takes alot of time. Tekken 5 DR online mode was better IMO. The offline modes are nice but on the PS3 version GHOST BATTLE MODE is dissapointing because you cant rank your character after 1ST DAN. The Ghosts are not so challenging even if you download them.

Virtua Fighter is the only realistic fighting game, which is why theres only like 10 characters and why it's slower and much more fluid. That being said even some of the stuff in that game is over the top.

Poor game mechanics, cartoon-y characters and the fact that they are STILL too afraid to show impacts and hide them behind annoying starbursts have sabotaged the series from the beginning. The Dead or Alive series is much better, but suffers from lack of variety in characters with too many ninjas.

@jackvgeoff It's actually got longer load times on Xbox. The game was developed on the PS3 and ported to the Xbox, which explains it. Fanboys like you make Xbox users look bad.

@MultiGarythesnail To be honest, as awesome as tekken and soulcalibur are, (and this is coming from a fighting game fan), i wouldnt base getting an entire system off of a few games. If there are other game syou want, then yes, get PS3 bcuz its fucking awesome, otherwise i wouldnt. Also honestly, the best soulcalibur games were the old one, so if your looking for an awesome soulcalibur game, get soulcalibur II, because it IS the best.

plus who fucking cares, it's a fighting game. they shouldn't have story. as long as the gameplay is good and the boss isn't cheap (tekken 5, I'm looking at you) who cares about the story.

Tekken 3 is still the best Tekken out of the series. Tekken 3 has a bad ass soundtrack and the best storyline in the series. Please Namco for Tekken 7 add all the soundtrack music from Tekken 3!!!!!!!!!

The bad thing about Tekken 6 is the online play.
1st the lag may ruin your fun and experience 2nd to rank up all your characters takes alot of time. Tekken 5 DR online mode was better IMO. The offline modes are nice but on the PS3 version GHOST BATTLE MODE is dissapointing because you cant rank your character after 1ST DAN. The Ghosts are not so challenging even if you download them.
I wonder if they are mentioning these details on the reviews ?

Virtua Fighter is the only realistic fighting game, which is why theres only like 10 characters and why it's slower and much more fluid. That being said even some of the stuff in that game is over the top.
