The Doors are easily my favourite band. I actually think a few of these lyrics are from a poem by William Blake, too. You might want to check up on it sometime.
i just watched the doors movie, made in 1991. i heard this song and i recognized it cuz of the joe perry cd in 2005. i thiught that joe made that song up. i was mistaken.
this music captures the sacred character of the profane.their music transports us into a romantic setting of the wagnerian era.that's what we have lost, the sacred quality of life, something the greeks had. this means accepting the irrational and dreaming of the fantastic.
Always was my favourite Doors song. Short but perfect. Lovely chord changes and the mid-section is sublime... sort of free-rolling, spacious melancholy. The opening line introduces us to a live scene that is already running. Like a film.
no way, that Db / Eb formation is kinda tricky. ive been playing guitar for a while and that formation reminds me of what it was like to learn chords for the first time.
Your FIRST slideshow??? Damn!! It's great. I hope you make many MORE. Love the Doors & especially this song. Jim Morrison grew up in my neck of the woods, Northern Virginia. :-)
Beautiful. Thank you 4 posting this. I think I needed this today. Gets to me. Gets IN me. Makes me think about things I havent thought about in years. Is that good or not?......Hehe! xo
Its a shame the good ones go " quick " Jim, Janis, Jimmy Hendrix, Jerry Garcia, and the " SHIT " hangs around forever. Thats good ol' rock, we miss ya' Jim

1:15 to 1:36...seems to me the most connected part of the song. all of the band seems so connected on one thing.
