  • She always sounds like she's struggling a bit to me. Is it not effortless, like Sills or Sutherland.

  • It's unfair that one person should be so beautiful and also so talented. gotta love this!

  • It.

  • I never realized how dark her voice is.

  • Anna is very beautiful and very talented at the same time.

  • Sorry, my previous statement was too strong,

however, that the woman who plays Musetta is very beautiful

and looks like she is capable of seducing many men -

adds greatly to the authenticity of her role!

A director who has a choice between singers

of similar performance skills, should give preference to the most beautiful one.

It is nowhere near as important for the role of Mimi, for example.

In theatrical performances, nevertheless, most people prefer very attractive people as lovers. :)

  • @ohsnapiam59 A) Asking hypothetical questions is pointless. B) Given what she sings, a director would be a fool not to cast Musetta as a beautiful woman It starts - When I walk When I walk alone in the street People stop and stare at me And everyone looks at my beauty, Looks at me From head to foot. And then I relish the sly yearning Which escapes from their eyes And which is able to perceive My most hidden beauties. Thus the scent of desire is all around me, And it makes me happy!
  • grandissima

  • She sounds flawless and the performance is captivating.

  • Yes Anna is also, among other things, a very beautiful woman.

It is ludicrous to suggest that this is what makes her popular.

Like it or not, many directors may prefer to choose beautiful women,

but hey are you folk blind? There are many beautiful, even very beautiful women,

among other top and close to top women performers - they are pretty much equal!

Anna is recognised for her great singing, performing, charisma, presence, relating to fellow performers, audiences with almost magnetic effect.

  • I love Puccini. I love opera. But I wonder...would people be making such a fuss over this singer if she were butt-ugly? Nice voice but definitely not a favorite.

  • I can't even start to describe what this piece makes me feel every time I listen to it. Truly a different musical language.

  • Musetta is a contrast character to Mimi. Here it sounds more like Mimi and less like Musetta.

She is better suited temperamentally to Mimi. no doubt, so it is a bit bland.

Nice voice, beautiful woman. A bit muddy diction in the Russian mold.

  • Bona fide opera goddess!

  • Very good singing and interpretation !

  • she does not follow the conductor...she could do better

  • They say Puccini was rather an ass-hole, and history records that Mozart was a bit of a silly twit. So how to explain that this other worldly music came through them? Maybe, as with Joan of Arc, or others who were so much smaller than their calling, it has more to do with them being conduits than being great in themselves?

  • the Backround was a Joke..

  • like ice cream in my ears.

  • Puccini himself would have jumped for joy after Anna's rendition of this beautiful song.

    - and she's so pretty...!!!

  • Personally, I like Anna above all others singing this.

Negative comments and put downs come from sick minds.

Human beings are all different, in how we hear, and in how our brains convert what we hear into a unique neural map for each individual. Our tastes and interactions with others, including artists are inevitably unique.

Claiming that your tastes, preferences, interactions are superior to someone else's are puerile and ignorant. Declare your own preferences, but equally respect others'!

  • @operafan0anegnd I agree with you when you say that there are no superior tastes or inferior ones for that matter, just different.

  • Oh,sorry, wrong video.I thought this was real opera singer...

  • Excellent portrayal of this aria I much prefer Anna to Agela I think she puts more in to every performance however we are blessed to have so many excellent perfomers of classical music

  • PUCCINI!!!

Im singing this tomorrow. wish me luck!!!!!!!

  • @ChristinaShea98 with a voice and talent luck will be that wish you do not need

  • Puccini rules, Anna too!

  • How gorgeous,Where on earth did you come from?

  • Bellisima Anna.... bravo!!!

  • Anna vuoi sposarsi con me?

  • If for nothing else, Netrebko is already successful just for the fact that it's gotten everyone talking about her. And, it's never too late for her to get the last laugh.....

  • To my ears, no one sings this better than Anna. She is great!

    Love her singing and artistry.

  • Bravo!!!!!!

  • dear gianni, a beatufil women does not make a good singer ... so I was just suggesting focussing on some more productive stuff for her and for us!!

  • @mrsentite A beautiful woman does not by necessity make a good anything yet I as somebody who attends the opera at least once a month and has even written a book on the subject of opera; can say that she is a stupendous singer. As for what is more productive for her that is only for her to decide and as for you, I would suggest you listen to other opera singers if she is not to your taste but I assure you that a lot of people through out the world fully enjoy her voice as do I.

  • Wow! That was really good! Well, it is to be expected, I suppose :)

  • Que Bella !

  • @Deathtoautotune2010 veramente bella si ai ragione

  • The media indeed, has an over-hyped love affair with Anna Netrebko and the public simply loves it.

  • She seems to attract controversies like nectar attracts bees.

  • Que bela intrepretação.

  • She is fantastic! =D

  • she should go home and take care of her child .....

  • @mrsentite That is quite sexist of you Women work to...

  • @mrsentite what are you on about?

  • @mrsentite go to hell you trolling fisherman.

  • @mrsentite Unless you are the father of her child which I doubt you are then that is none of your business weather she stays home and takes care of her child or not

  • Sad that she isn't coming to Tokyo

  • Opera's finest

  • Puccini ... abbi pazienza!

  • Linda é a sua voz,bravíssima Anna!!!!

  • bravaaaaa

  • Bravissima

  • Talented, beautiful, sensitive, inteligent.. We need more women like her.

  • I finally understand why Anna Netrebko is the best opera singer ever. She's genuine, she's got a beautiful voice and she's a wonderful performer. Quite honestly, even though there are many opera singers out there, no one matches up to Anna.

  • If heaven really exists, this music is played all day long there

  • @Culebrinha therefore youtube must be heaven

  • @truvianni definitively you´re right!!

  • @Culebrinha I wrote an article about this aria if you care to read it please google "Truvianni, Quando me' n vo"

  • Anna Velikaya !!!

  • @007pml toxe krasivaya

  • Her physical beauty matches her genuine talent.

  • NEW MUSIC GROUP CAN DIN SKY

  • this world needs more Puccinis and less youtubers

  • @wholetthedoggo lol angela is so much better!

  • @fuckingSPARKY better yes but not a lot better though in my opinion she is just better I am a huge of Angela of course but I would not say much better of course all is but opinion

  • @wholetthedoggo we are fortune to have you tube so we can excplore to find more of these kind of music

  • @wholetthedoggo Though I heart me some youtubers, I have to agree :p

  • @BenjaminFonseca Wow, I can't believe how much you wrote! And I cannot believe your nasty reaction. I hope you're not married! I wouldn't want to be your wife and have a different educated opinion from yours. Get off my back, ok!

  • @BenjaminFonseca Excuse me? Is there any reason why you have to use that word? I thought one was allowed to make a simple comment. I didn't say she was bad, just that I thought she needed more training. I don't care much for anything but classical music, so thanks for your juvenile suggestion regarding lady Gaga, but... NO THANKS! Your music, not mine! You are obviously not of age yet, since you have not learned to express yourself in any other words other than F***! Who's the ignorant one???

  • She is a goddess in so many ways! Talent, music and beauty! Mon ange et deesse, pour toujours! Pour toujours,ma belle!

  • no instrument can compare to human voice, and no human voice can compare to Anna's

  • @r7diego She is good but I still prefer Angela Gheorghiu

  • @truvianni - i prefer Anna

  • @r7diego and so I see but dont get me wrong. I know Anna is a great but it is just a matter of preference I even wrote an article about Anna Netrebko. By the way I am a writer If you wish to read my article on her just google "Truvianni,Netrebko".It was her birthday just 2 days ago.

  • @rooyan1 This is clear to anyone with an appreciate for the music proper.

  • So glorious!! Love you, Anna.

  • I don't know... I just don't think she's got it! She's not Cecilia Bartoli, that's for sure... but perhaps with more practice she's got potential.

  • @ChristoEtEcclesiae Are you deaf?

  • @sobefobik Excuse me?! I wasn't aware that sharing an opinion meant receiving insults! I just don't think she's that good. I majored in music (voice and violin) and now live in a European city known for it's excellent taste in music, so I think I have a basis for criticism. I'm sure there are musicians I like that you don't. I don't mind that... so neither should you mind my opinion. Have a nice day!

  • @ChristoEtEcclesiae You're exactly right. You have every right to an opinion, but just because you don't like her or her style doesn't mean that she needs more training. The fact that you live in a city known for "excellent musical taste" is in of itself an opinion and irrelevant.

  • @sobefobik ok

  • opera is sexi

  • she really should sing more puccini!!!!! this suits her voice so well!!!

  • Andy Nabrocco- best Ukranian Soproanos, mucho gusto spectacuallllleir la puta grande

  • Splendorous !

  • 2:04 the way she look, it burns

  • The sensible answer to porn. There ain't no ho' like Netrebko! This girl has it all.

  • successor to Maria Callas! :)

  • @.@

I am enchanted. Thnx God, for so much beauty in the world!

  • La più bella musica:ITALIA.

  • This roles fits her like a glove... a coquettish interpretation, very charming. More Puccini I think, and less bel canto.

  • what beautiful passion in her voice, this was wonderful.

  • bachianasop.

  • i love her...

  • i love her...

  • She is just D'Best of the D'best !

  • she exudes charisma

  • Anna Netrebko is the best of the best! I love you Anna!

  • @angmedia - Kalie postupki? Chto eto vas tak rasbiraet?

  • @angmedia Eto vy naschet Kirkorova? A chego eto Anna dolzhna uchavstvovat' v kakih-to skandalah, ey kak-budto delat' bol'she nechego.

  • instantly brought tears to my eyes

    incredible!

  • instantly brought tears to my eyes

  • Master Achievement

  • great!!

  • This is really like in heaven!

  • A GENIUS!

  • Yes, I'm glad to hear a soprano that sings Puccini as it would be Mahler.

Anna Netrebko is perfect to sing the most refined repertoire from Bach to Schumann, Wagner, Debussy, Strauss and Berg. This is only a "little" part of her potential.

  • @ad80ad completely agree with you. I have not yet heard anything from Anna that has not entirely amazed me. Thank you for you comment.

  • Beautiful.

  • If you like Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, or Il Divo you will love Joseph D'Alessandro Jr. Joseph is an authentic Italian lyric tenor with an amazing voice you will surely love. On his debut CD on iTunes he sings classic tenor cover songs…in both classical and pop styles such as "When You Say You Love Me", "Nella Fantasia", "Nessun Dorma", "Mama", "E Lucevan Le Stelle", and "The Prayer" which he sings with the incredible soprano, Helene Lundstrom, who sounds even better then Celine Dion.

  • brava

  • brava

  • brava anna.

  • brava anna.

  • where was this? what's the name of the place? I need to download this concert, I love her

  • @TarjaRose This happened in Berlin, Germany at the Waldbuehne, a famous open air stage with very high-class classical concerts in the summer.

  • stupenda...

  • Odadom kedvesemnek! Gábor

  • i'm in love with her voice.....she's wonderfull :)

  • This is too good!

  • Charming vocally and otherwise. She knows how to do piano sounds.

  • No doubt the singing is good, but I think the frivolity of this aria in La Boheme is quite different - Anna could be Mimi... never Musetta with such a heavy interpretation. In making this piece sound great as a single, she has totally forgotten poor Musetta...

  • STONATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Lovely fairy female, lovely woman! Belle femme qui peut chanter!

  • She is WONDERFUL!!

  • She is singing live, not on a playback.

  • yeah this lil girl sang the same song on there, she was wonderful.

  • Greeks are like cheap wine.

  • Playback

  • @raindyns Playback?

  • You're not familiar with opera singers are you? Playback is not usual at all in opera or classic music concerts (one more reason to be a fan)

  • She must be because that's where she came from.

  • @kitchavez Not only in Russia but in the world.

  • Anna must be very famous in Russia.

  • @hansley04 Sorry to disappoint you, but Anna is very rare guest at home. Now she mostly performs abroad and many Russian people just heard her name and this is true and sad...

  • On 20es Giacomo Puccini went to Vienna to listen a performance of Gurrelieder, by Arnold Schoenberg.

Gurrelieder are one of the first works by the great Austrian master, and Giacomo Puccini found it really conventional, in comparison to great and more famous masterworks as Pierrot Lunaire etc.

He was really disappointed, because he was really anxious to know more about the innovations of Schoenberg and his trip was abolutely useless. This is History.

  • @zucchini2007

An advice: listen the entire Tristan und Isolde by Wagner, then you'll know from where this aria comes (...not from America's got talent).

Then listen the opera omnia of Arnold Schoenberg, and you'll know where this aria leads (not to Barbara Padilla).

  • ahahahahahahahahahahahah....America's got talent

It's like trying to say that someone who reads the electricity meter is doing nuclear physics.

  • I'll tell more, Anna is performing many so called "easy pieces" (inverted commas) for the public (as the legend say...), but the fact she's reaching a large audience doesn't mean she takes the easy way. On the contrary I think it is her generosity that allows her to be so extroverted in comparison to other unapproachable ascetics like the pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. I think she lives on, and for the stage, but that's the opposite of "easy".

  • wow she is the best singer and shes beautifull, talent!!!!!!!!!!! nice dress to

  • She is excellent, but I think I prefer Barbara Padilla when she sang this with the Heartland Symphony Orchestra a few months ago. She has better diction of the lyrics, and she has a more powerful voice than Anna. Barbara also has a very rich, supple tone in her voice, more so than Anna.

  • @zucchini2007You perhaps mean that girl from the show" America'got talent".??? Yep, she has rather good diction and of course she 's a bit of talent. She should work and work days and nights to approach a professional level.Nevertheless any opinion here must be respected.

  • @spqrmor I don't think Barbara Padilla needs to "work and work", she's got a master's in music from the University of Houston. She's got plenty of experience and she's about to release her debut album very soon!

  • @zucchini2007 There are plenty of opera singers that are very good but don't have much publicity. But Anna Netrebko certainly needs no introduction. Everywhere she goes, the tickets are always sold out.

  • @zucchini2007 I wish that girl to be seen in famous opera houses and all the best in her career.

  • I like her and this is a good live sound!

  • Anna Netrebko rules!

  • @arejn5 haha she certainly rules!

  • it's *Quando Me N'Vò*

    you're welcome (:

    I love Anna!

  • fantástico!

  • Wow this is incredible!

  • I am in HEAVEN! Merci....

These naysayers should sit back and enjoy the beautiful music.

  • I must admit she has a beautiful color to her voice, and I will admit that in terms of technique I was judging too harshly. I, after reading your comments, gave her a little more attention and found some recent videos of her. Early on- I think Netrebko "beefed" up her sound a little more than she needed too. I will stand corrected that her technique is NOT as bad as I heard, but I think she is working way to hard throughout the middle voice and opening way too much towards the top.

  • She is a soprano singer and most women sopranos It is not easy hear because his record voice notes are very sharp, so your opinion is very precarious. Besides his diction is very clear and precise, just that there are areas of very high notes in some songs and there where the soprano, precisely because reach those records so sharp is not easy for an ear profane can not hear it clearly and therefore you are very wrong.

  • She has a nice voice but her diction is terrible. U can hear anything she is saying because she is darkening she sound so the words are sloppy

  • No one can sing better than that...

    she's wonderfull

  • @chuntsiack Sorry. Quite a few can sing better. Listen to Luica Popp sometime. She never screetches. I don't like any of the big three these days.

  • @chuntsiack No one? Sorry but you don't know other soprano...???

  • that's very debatable

  • @chuntsiack - nop, she is the best
