I think religion in Canada is similar to how it is here in Australia, of course we have our weirdos but overall better than the US which has nutbag, fundy, gay bashing republicans

@dave19941000 they were all cults at one point in time. a religion just skipped over the mass suicide part(ok fine, not all cults commit mass suicide but ill say it anyways) and grew to the point where they gained acceptance.
@Panadoksis It is true, and I'm not a rasist or anything but almost all violent crimes and rapes are commited by immigrants/asylum seekers. Mostly muslims or people from the Balkan. Drugs are also imported almost solely by immigrants(Afghanis, pakistanis, moroccans, turks) And burglaries are mostly commited by romanian gipsies or people from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia or Poland. The Police informs this, it's not rasist propaganda. And still the levels are minimal compared to the USA. :)
@Panadoksis The social democrats who have been in power most of the time since the war, have emphazised working for the education of the people, teaching lots of science in school and keeping religion out of school and out of the media and so on. And thanks to the oil and gas we found in the late sixties,early seventies, everybody has enough money here, so we don't need to steal or anything. Instead people come to steal from us, hehe. : )

I think nearly all religious people in canada live in small towns in rural areas. In Toronto and Vancouver a large majority of the people I knew were atheist or agnostic, there are a few old catholics in Montreal, but in most big cities in Canada Christianity is pretty much dead.

As you can see, the countries with the worse living conditions are most religious, and the countried with the best living conditions are more atheists.
