  • One love

  • People always misinterpret this songs first few lines. It is not Bob Marley saying that his children will never have to beg, it is supposed to be Haile Selassie saying that not one of his children i.e. a Rastaman, will ever have to sit in the sidewalks of Babylon and beg. The song casts Bob Marley as the spokesperson for Haile Selassie he is not talking about himself or his own children.

  • @JohnSmith1925

Couldn't have said it better myself. People think of Rastafarians as potheads, but there is a historical basis to their belief. This song is a prime example of Bob Marley's amazing capacity to transmit his beliefs into song. Whether or not one agrees with his philosophy, it's eloquently put.

  • @JohnSmith1925

With a song title such as "So Jah Say" you'd have to pretty dense to think Bob was talking about his own children, but glad someone's here to sort it out for those unfortunate sods.

  • FIRE ONE UP? wHAT yE SAY?

  • That song give me the chills. Bob vocals r off this planet and the intro 2 the song is one of best I've eva heard.

  • What's al;l this fuss about soya seeds? Is this some kind of farm song?....just kidding me? Soya beans is good for the hungry men beggin'in the streets, and indeed I too grew up with this blessin'. Soya harvest will still be fine, this year, i believe.

  • So Jah seh "Not one of my seeds... shall sit in the sidewalks and beg bread"

  • Zero Dislikes! Awesome! Even the haters know better than to bring the BS on Bob's page!

  • I love you so much bob marley God bless you wherever you are...

  • 2012 a piosenki Marley'a dalej są zaje*iste

  • With Bob's music, you felt like no matter what the problem was, or Crisis Is, he with his music had some words of comfort and encouragement for you to never give up. That is what Bob Marley is all about. Listen to the BBC interview November (26 I think) 1973 and you will hear him talk clearly without a doubt about the ILLUMINATI in the music. Check it on you tube. This man is NO ORDINARY MAN!!!

  • Bob Marley now adays is just considered a pot head idol, in real life he has music of love.... BUT DAMNNNN IF YOU LISTEN TO HIS SONGS HIGH, IT! IS! COMPLETELY! DIFFERENT! LIKE MUSIC OF THE ANGELS.

  • " I am gone to prepare a place, that where i am thou shall abide- so Jah say". "Fear not for mighty dread cause i will be there by your side." Bob,a messenger from God, preaching to the people through music.

  • Best song ever.

  • Yeah, this and Crisis are really among the best. This is Bob singing his heart out for the grass roots Jamaican people. I tell you he was no ordinary singer. These were not just songs, they represented the woes and aspirations, the faith and dreams of Jamaican people, I was there. I could feel it. It was real!!

  • Heck yeah, haven't heard this in quite some time. Grazie mille! Marleyjuana!

  • yes beautiful lyrics from start to finish love this song!!

  • This music is REAL power.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is fucking amazing.. Love it.

  • I and I hang on in there cause so jah seh.

  • buena rola hermano

  • I like Peter Tosh more than Bob Marley, but this is good stuff nevertheless.

  • Therowz shout your fucking mouth you have no idea about anything.

  • I like the line "not one of my seed shall sit on the sidewalk & beg bread" with the legacy, wealth and heaps of kids you left behind, they're far from poverty.

  • @TheRowz i hate to burst your cynical, sarcastic bubble, but i really do not think that is what mr. marley meant when he said that..... why do people get on here just to be retarded freakin douchebags... just listen to the music, and enjoy the REAL message, or dont listen to it...

  • great song

  • no likes for a reason! :D

  • so jah said "not one of my seed shall sit on the sidewalk, and beg bread".

  • one sound, one love, one eternal peace across the world.

rastafari- praise the all loving jah

    - from: matt <3

  • Great song to meditate to

  • This song impacts me on a a spiritual level level like no other Marley classic, he is talking to the common man with a remarkable reassururance, not like a celebribity, but a man that never forgot the sting of poverty. Genius, Be Blessed

  • "Fear not for mighty dread,

'Cause I'll be there at your side."

  • THX THX THX THX THX THX THX BOB FOR ALL U DID THX THX THX

  • Cos' Puss and Dog they get together, whats wrong with loving one another!!

  • @dtapz

Can't believe I missed this the first thousand times I listened to this song. Oh my god, I'm crying with laughter. This gets the vote for the best interpretation.

  • Bob MARLEY = PROPHET...

he is still here in spirit

Legalize the herb in 2011 !!!!

  • What happened to Ky-mani PBHSO1?

  • yeah, a genius wrote it alright--GOD! this is from a Psalm written by david, inspired by God. But that's not a slam against bob marley. love him. just defending the scriptures!

  • @cmessett1 it is very obvious in his music that bob was a very spiritual, faithful man that had a lot of love for God. that is one reason i love his music soo much!! and this is not a slam against you, either, just wanted that to be known. he didnt just try to use the Psalm as his own for profit. i think his goal was for people to love the wat God loves. unconditionally, and he wanted people to know that God did love and watch over them. but thats just my opinion. i mean no disrespect to you.

  • This is a song to uplift all those who are having a tough time. "I've gone to prepare a place that where I am thou shall abide.

  • This my favorite song ever! "Not one of my seeds"

  • Bob is still waking people up.

  • @lilshyone0204 lol at not getting his lyrics right. but at least youre appreciating this music and not the junk we hear elsewhere in mainstream media (AKA americas propaganda machine)

  • @ThoughtsOfAVisionary

    Those ARE the correct lyrics.

  • @subg88 close, the patois is slightly off though.

  • "I and I, I no lego"....awesome!!

  • bobby boy what a legend you can't get as far as he did and not have some divine intivention, this is god's music

  • considering whats going on with my life right now i tear up when i hear this song. GOD BLESS BOB MARLEY

  • donkey kong country 1 first land ha ha respect for bob man

  • this music is beyond inspiration its an idea. it's stress free may God bless his soul

  • All songs on Natty Dread album were ORIGINALLY written by Bob Marley. But all except Lively Up Yourself, Bend Down Low and Revolution (my favourite) are put as written by other people. Why? Because Marley had previously had a contractual dispute with Cayman Music, his former music publisher. Note that some of these songs featured during the pre-Island Records/Tuff Gong era and therefore to avoid further disputes, he DELIBERATELY associated these songs to family members and friends.

    RIP Marley

  • I believe Fred Locks sang this song as well

  • not sure he probably was a brethren that was there with Bob at one time

  • I love Bob but he didn't write this song.. Willie San Franciso wrote this.. Still sang it beautifully

  • TIGHT!

  • JAH, RASTAFARI!!!!!

  • Bob is putting music to the Gospel and he even references it by saying, "So Jah Seh" (the Lord

said). He uses "Psalms" and "The New Testament"

passages. This is just one of the many aspects of the music's appeal and Bob's genius.

  • BIG UPS SIEN.. MUCH RAPSECT.

  • Not one of my seeds shall sit in the sidewalk and beg for your bread! A Genius wrote this!!!! RIP Bob Marley!!!!!

  • @PBHS01 ONE LOVE ......... thats true , man i dont know the circumstances some people go through but man if you have children try ur best to give em a a better living

  • @PBHS01 Ironicaly, thats excactly what happened to one of his sons, Ky-Mani.

It wouldnt have happened if he was alive, thou.

  • @PBHS01 John?

  • @PBHS01 Rita wrote this song. But that doesn't change the fact that she could never sing it like Bob.

  • @AHIBLUEBLACKmusic Actually. Bob use to credit a lot of his songs to other people. So certain 'Babylonians' wouldn't have rights to it.

  • @SoccerguyJoe Actually, actually...Is that your way of trying to say Rita didn't write this song. Certain tunes you can tell Bob didn't write, just by the style of song. Whether he wrote it or not, no one could sing it like him, period.

  • @AHIBLUEBLACKmusic Yes, I guarantee Rita didn't write this song.

  • @SoccerguyJoe

Who are you to make such a statement ?

  • @09201951ful -I'm a well read individual, who has read pretty much every biography of Bob. And know the reason he credited his songs to other people was so music producers and labels wouldn't have rights to them.

read up my friend. There is lots to learn.

  • @SoccerguyJoe That's right - just as no woman no cry was credited to an old friend, Vincent Tartar Ford.

  • @ImaniHekima Marley was on contractual agreement with some other label at that time and didnt want shared rights with Island so he credited some of his songs to his friends and families, even though he WROTE ALL. Check wikipedia.

  • @rameco89 that record company was cayman records.... they fucked him royally

  • @PBHS01

Hmm, you do know that that comes straight from the bible right?

  • @PBHS01 actually his wife Rita Marley wrote it

  • fa piangere tanto è bella
