  • I''v heard much better versions of Jessica. I miss Dicky Betts!

  • I hope they tour again real soon ! I love Gregg but his latest band just isn't the ABB.Derek is so good.It would be even sweeter if Dicky was there ! I can see little Derek Trucks sitting on his mom's lap grooving to the ABB.it's in his genes he was born to play in the band.

  • The spontaneity and spark of Dickey Betts is really missing here, though it's a nice enough jam. It doesn't have that extra 'something', maybe you could call it presence, that Dickey always supplied... bring him back..!! Give him the respect he deserves and invite him politely and I'm sure he would come back.

  • Original sounds so much better. But this band hasnt died yet!

  • I agree with most of the posts here, thse mix is a little muddy and I sure do miss hearing Dickey, but alas he likes his booze more than he liked playing with these musical icons. Just glad I got to see them before his departure from the band. Derek is an AWESOME musician don't get me wrong but it just doesn't flow like DB.

  • This is what music is all about people.....2 great guitarists.......I cry for today's generation....

  • Tonight on Top Gear....

The Stig tests a Model T Ford

    Jeremy rolls a Hummvee

    Richard blows up a Veyron

and james breaks the sound barrier in a VW Bug

  • aren't they like, not allowed to play that anymore?

  • デュアンがいたら、こんな風なJessicaになっていたんだろうか?ディッキーベッツの時代のオリジナルのこの曲も好きです。どっちも(・∀・)イイ!!

  • actually, the tempo is only a fraction off from the original. call me a blasphemer, but some of the Trucks/Haynes stuff is better than the originals... Otiel is the man!!

  • Ok, so I was skeptical on how well Derek could do compared to Betts... damn....

  • Over 17 minutes great job with the camera. 5 ***** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You.Greetings fromGermany.

  • Goin' thru the motions... sad

  • It may not be the best version ever, but it has ta be the greatest song ever. The Allman Brothers are by far one of the best southern rock bands of all time. I love Jessica who ever she was. Thank you Jessica for your inspiration for this song.....

  • I just finished reading the book Skydog, by Randy Poe - since you are hearing watching and listening to this - I know you will love readying that book too...

  • I agree that this isn't the best version of Jessica, although I think it has some really cool parts. The absolute best version of Jessica I've heard is The Allman Brothers Live at Jazz Fest in 2007 with Chuck Leavell on keys. The whole set was recorded and is available; I highly recommend it

  • It's not the ABB. It's the TSB (Trucks & Son) Band. I heard they have to pay Dickie everytime they play his songs. There's no dynamics in this song, and Derek struggles thru the lead more than when Dickie was drunk.

  • @LazyLightning55 Holy shit dude! Quality is amazing! What did you use to record it? Much Appreciated.

  • TONIGHT! (and stretching on for several days after this, apparently).

"Jessica," the James May (Captain Slow) version.

  • first time i've heard a live video sound this good. props.

  • Love the ABB, love Derek Trucks, and I freakin' adore this song beyond all reason. ..but I'm sorry, this version makes me sad. It sounds tired. It's like it's being played at half-speed.

  • @authorjdrhoades this show did not feel like one. It was in a casino, and it seemed like half in attendance were people given comp tix from the casino, and left after a few tunes. The band didnt seem that stoked, either. This is not the best version of Jessica, i agree

  • @authorjdrhoades

You are absolutly right, it sounds listless

  • @authorjdrhoades Gregg and the drummers (Jaimoe especially) are far too old to be able to rock out 100% on Jessica. Derek, Warren, Oteil, and Marc could easily tear this up if they wanted to.

  • @authorjdrhoades no matter.... it still great playing. it's just sad not to have dickey playing with them.

  • without betts, a mere imitation.

  • I thought this was 28 Minutes.

  • I was There

  • I was at that show.....outstanding in the Allmans tradition.....only thing that sucked was the beer selection...Bud light and Bud light.....so I didn't drink...and I remembered the whole show!!

  • Rudyc1 you say "it is time to break up"" is there something wrong with your ears? Jackass in this band you have 3 of the original members and derek trucks this cat has skill"s that even he does not no about yet. You use the word "basic" there is nothing "basic" about these guy"s the only thing that is basic your stupity for posting such foolishness!

  • Lightnin", Bro you are the king of all things cool. I do not have to tell you how freaking great derek is and bro the quality of your work is sooo off the hook . Bro i would love to come up to the city and check the brothers out but for right now my money is tight. How many shows are you going to?And i take it you will film each night, all right bro gotta split. But you deserve mad props for your movies.PEACE

  • @coyote023 thanks again man. I will not be at every night of the Allmans at the Beacon. They are charging an arm and TWO legs to get into these shows. But who knows.... See you there!

  • @coyote023 what a horrible version of the song. What is interesting is they have no originality. All the songs evolved and Betts changed them up a bit in concerts. These monkeys play the same basic riffs Betts made and can't come up with anything new or original. Time to break up I'd say.

  • @rudyc1 Brother you got that right. The more I listen to the current version of the ABB it continually becomes clear that they are NOT close to the ABB of the ealry 90's when it was Dickey, Warren and Allen Woody or the Jack Pearson version of the band with Dickey and Otiel. They have NO originality and they keep getting more laid back as the years go by. Maybe the old guys are tired? I would be so I ain't complaining. I'm old at 63. Saw the original lineup 30 times. The ABB ain't much now!!

  • @coyote023 Are you and lightning having a Bromance Bro? I love the Allman Bros bro.

  • @midgelarva Are you just a big pussy? That is all of my time you get asshole .
