The dancers are talented, but the dance is more of a competition version of Steam Heat because it is completely out of context for the show. And way too sexy for the 50's and for what they're trying to acheive in that scene. But the girls do have some great technique.
Well we had a couple of actual male dancers, but no not many. Our school was large so to try and allow more people to preform we often added larger group numbers.
it was good, but not up to college level standard. the dancing was too advanced the time period the play is set in. as were the costumes. im not putting down the dancers, you can tell they put in a good amount of work. but i think the dance instructor should have paid more attention to the time period. good job though.
lastly......this is youtube. do society a favor and shut up. do you honestly think that your doing any good by putting your worthless thoughts and negative comments up on a videos page. But to all that are giving positive comments (which is why the button on the bottom says post a comment not post your criticism up here so you can piss off people) i say thank you to you for not being a total idiot.
oh also, for your information one of the dancers was on So You Think You Can Dance. So i'm pretty sure that atleast one of them is the bomb at dance seeing that she made it to the show. so again i say, suck it.
and to all that said their choreography was better......suck it. i think this dance looks effing fantastic and untill you put your videos up here of your Steam Heat dance i'm just going to assume that you are too scared of seeing what others think and bashing your dance just as youve took it upon yourself to do here.
ummmm....amateur dance recital....mmm interesting that you would even open your trap to say such a thing. the point of dance is that you can take something old and classical and make it your own and something new. The choreographer obviously didn't want to take the ol' Bob Fosse route because that has been done over and over again. I think the dance and dancers look fantastic

Nope, a regular public school. Pickerington North. They have an amazing theatre department. The year after I graduated they did High School Musical and won best in the country :) I miss it sometimes
i have watched the original. the song is called "steam heat" and you said in the description box that your school was heating things up, but in my opinion it was a bit cold
this was pretty good. our mae played the lead singer instead of gladys tho just cuz she was a better dancer. no offense but our steam heat was sexier. your is classy tho

i love this set! well because i worked on it! oh how i love margret lawson and scott Skiles! i loved the cast in this show! everyone was so nice!
