i think some of the "04" models were actually produced in early 2003, and i dont think DCCD was available in the 03 models. Thats what i heard at least. But my 04 has it :)

the groupN (like the Litchfield type25) subaru would be the closest thing to a "rally" car on the roads. that is the platform they base most of their rally cars off of. but yes, there is almost nothing similar besides a shell.

How they still use the same chassis and the EJ25 plus the how is the Litchfield 25 the closest sure its setup properly but the power isn't all that 425hp probably at the crank the EJ25's could easily manage 500hp at the wheels. What kind of stupid comment is that all manufacturers use the same chassis as the road car but with cars like the Corolla they are four wheel drive for rally but the Subaru's are same only the brakes, suspension, engine internals, turbos, wheels, seats and other minor.

true for the open class WRC cars, but you can easily modify a stock impreza wrx for GRP. N racing. I have several GRP. N derived parts on my impreza, from engine/tranny mounts, to a GRP. N legal 5spd with close ratios etc. I think the biggest difference would be chassis prep and rollcage. At that point it becomes less streetable

Your best bet is a expensive stand alone ECU. Cobb Access Port is available for the 02-07 wrx and 04-07 sti; however, only 06-07 wrx and sti (2.5L)have launch control and flat-shifting settings available.

uhm no YOU are incorrect. They do not have LC or FFS on the 2 liter because the cruise control and clutch at not wired to the ecu, and the 2 liter's throttle body is controlled via cable. The 2.5 liter motors are controlled by the ECU via a motor, the ecu monitors the throttle pedal, calculates throttle percentage and then opens the throttle via motor.

My tires are new, only have 4kmiles in it. I have the accelerator pedal to the metal though with building a boost to about 5psi on launch. Is it gonna help If i dont do full throttle upon launch them go fullthrottle after launch?

Well, I don't do this every day, but the 6 speed STI gearbox is very strong, much better than the standard 5 speed WRX gearbox. No problems with the car till so far.
