  • This song was just made to be played live!

  • Ths 'Rash' iss prettty amaissssing musishshshshshshann, yes?

  • one of my all time faves.....

  • This bass-line is on of the greatest artworks in music...

  • Geddy is seriously shredding at the last 30 seconds its so epic, you can hear it better on the album just DIRTY bass. Greatest band of all time!

  • A master piece!! :´)

  • @ManOffTTC I know, It was driving me insane!!!

  • This is one of the songs that I HATED at first, but after having listened to it a few times, it has grown on me.

  • 1:42 I love this exchange of riffs between the guitars, like they do on Tom Sawyer with the keyboard bringing it then followed by the guitar and then by the bass. Only such an intelligent and talented band knows how to make this kind of thing.

  • DA HORA SENSACIONAL ESTA MUSICA E UMA VIAGEM !

  • Why couldn't they film Geddy during his solo near the end?

  • @ManOffTTC To avoid having the cameras exploding from all that energy.

  • wow alex put on some weight, but still plays like a genius

  • rush always gives me goosebumps

  • 2 people without a clue. truly a sad state of affairs.

  • Slappin de beeyas

  • 1:15-1:30 the drums just sound stupid to me. Peart overplays anyway

  • @Zeppelinfan25 That's because you're a Zep fan.

  • @Zeppelinfan25 THAT is overplaying? Lmao He's just doing some tom runs.

  • @aferraina1 i was just saying in general Peart overplays...not necessarily in that part

  • @Zeppelinfan25 Man! I don't think he overplays... but I also think we both listen to very different music lol

  • Slayers of the Sonic Nature.

  • AMAZING **********

  • Geddy's bass sounds phenomenal in this clip.

  • This is the instrumental that in my opinion showcases the fact Geddy is an amazing bassist. Like how La Villa Strangiato showcases Alex's god like guitar playing.

  • Such a cleaner, dryer sound.

  • @bobosharkey I lol'd so hard.

  • I love when fans upload videos of concerts. I appreciate the time and effort they put into making these videos. Also, hearing the variations from show to show is something I really enjoy. Having said that, what I don't understand is even though I'm sure you might have a "favorite" in the band, why do many people insist on focusing on Alex or Neil when they're just grooving along while Geddy is over there gettin' his funk on!

  • Another reason why rush is the greatest ensemble of musicians in the history of music

  • best sounding Dryers in the industry !

  • Those guitars at 2:22 kill...one of the best Ive ever heard !!!

  • the solo is eargasm

  • Aha instead of the global terms being stage right and stage left it should be stage alex and stage geddy

  • i love the hi hat hits @4:00...fuckin neil is awesome

  • Geddy's washing machines are badass

  • God Lee

  • what a MASTERPIECE THIS SONG GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS FACKIN EH

I THINK I COULD GET UP AND DANCE 2 THIS WHOS THE DADDY

  • what a MASTERPIECE THIS SONG GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS FACKIN EH

I THINK I COULD GET UP AND DANCE 2 THIS

  • from john winston lennon's birthday as seventy.

you old goats. no space to expurge, cept the fgact that we let our time go.

    loverly kokopelli and advantagepassenger amongst.

    i got your flippedyflop.

  • it's a devil of a song, no matter what time machine you attempt to portay it in etude or crue d'ete Bubba's Bar and Grill wasn't ever thought about , but Kokopelli was.

    Lettuce Prey

  • Dracula and his son 2010 was now the monster mash.

Twas a grape yarn stash, robot.

Twas the seed we let grow, from pages ago.

Twilight Zone's Buggy Methodman sans eyeglasses in reverse

  • The guitar solo at 2:20 is plain and pure orgasm !!!

  • Wow, Geddy's really uh-slappin dat bass!

    Haha.

  • @27svideos i know that chick from the office and that dude from how i met your mother and ...

Happy fucking awesome TIME MACHINE TOUR

    timecapsule wind tunnel

  • Holy balls they are the greatest. I can't wait to see them in October, their instrumentals sound SO good live.

  • saw this on the time machine tour in syracuse, SICK

  • i just saw them in columbus yesterday and is was the first time i heard this song, it rocks, especially the sweet bass licks

  • WOW!!...I caught the Time Machine Tour in Vegas in Aug and they jammed this tune!!...Thanks for posting!!!!!

  • @locatorpal

me too. fucking awesomest show ever! omg

  • Played to perfection

  • The camera work on this is sublime. The shots of Neil are awesome. Thanks to whomever filmed this...

  • This song is far from one of Rush most celebrated or famous but they still make it sound like it is. Would I never heard of Rush before I could guess this is in the Top 3 of their discography. To make one believe that takes talent. Rush has it !

  • Rush was my real education. So thanks all you Rush-guys, if'n yer ever a-listenin...

  • Rush rocks like no other. End of story

  • What / who is doing the "organ" sound? Is it just a playback sound from the mixing board?

  • @tamistamistamis It is a loop triggered by Geddy on his bass pedals.

  • I just got back from a rush show and they played this. it was epic.

  • The dryers!

  • Geddy Lee is one of the top 10 bassist's of all time, imo. I don't know what he uses in terms of equipment, but his bass sound always comes out chrystal clear when he's playing live, it's awesome!! Rush is in the top 5 of the best bands of all time:). On top of all that, what's even more awesome, is they are CANADIAN. Hell fucking yeah!!!!!!!

  • Yeah on the Test For Echo tour this song rocked and it went right into Neil's solo.

  • I'm really glad they are playing this tune on the Time Machine Tour

  • I'm guessing that he won't have anything like dryers, vending machines, etc. on the next tour. I'm a little bummed about that, but it's all good cause I'm pumped to see and hear those new Orange amps blasting.

  • @TTDFan

I just saw them in Albuquerque last night, and no, there aren't any dryers, rotisserie ovens, etc. BUT, what there IS on stage this tour is pretty awesome to behold! ;-)

  • they always come up with the best instumentals ever!

  • why does Rush kick so much ass?

  • why does Rush kick so much ass?

  • bobosharkey: "rare" one that sounds better live? Oh wow. I could not disagree more that it's "rare". Rush is *all about* the live show, IMHO!

  • I would just love to have an infomal conversation between Neil Peart and I. The band are just Unique, brilliant. I have loved them at first listen.

  • technically, it' not an instrumental. Hey hey!

  • Oh, how I love this song's bass...!

  • Friggin' love Lifeson's guitar riff at 0:41

  • This is one of the rare songs that sounds better live than on the album. I thought it was pretty good on the album but there's something about the way the guitar rings out live that gives me goosebumps.

  • I feel the same way. IMO their performance of this song on the Counterparts tour is the best.

  • @RollTheFemers Got those goosebumps yesterday in Buenos Aires, same song, same guitar notes.

  • @fundament you just saw them in buenos aires? I just saw them too a couple months ago in irvine. They nailed that concert!

  • @bobosharkey I totally agree!

  • @bobosharkey totally...one of my faves when im there

  • @bobosharkey they always sound better live

  • @bobosharkey Thats the way this band is, they are a great studio band. But they are an amazing live band

  • Love the drying machines. Always will ;p

  • For a cleaner dryer sound...

  • i like that triple hi hat hit at 3 59

  • Every time I hear a RUSH song it is like my ears are having sex.

  • @biped19 damn son! you're damn right about that! high five!\m/

  • the sound from this recording is UNREAL!!!!

  • geddy lee is getting one sick tone there

  • My fav rush instrumental, the oone at rio was best for me due to the bass guitar sound. To olgimer, hey man, I get the imagery of indivdualism ripping out of relationship(boy-girl). Cheers!

  • Oh my lord...... this song sounds soooo much freaking better live it made me cry

  • lol farmers tan?

  • Every time I hear this song I think of a coastline!

A rocky shore and the wind and the waves

Anyone else get any imagery from this?

  • i think of waking up early in the morning for school, i had this as my alarm for quite some time lol

  • Excellent post!

  • geddy lee has too much laundry...lol,,, what an amazing bassist..and a great band

  • This song should be for a boss level on a video game:) Rush is so cool

  • animal .....POWER TRIO...........

  • I saw these guys in Riverbend during their snakes and ladders tour. everytime I see live vids of Rush I get excited!!!! I would love to see these guys jam again.

  • snakes and ladders?

  • crap, I meant snakes and arrows. Riverbend Music Center, Monday June 30th at 7:30 was the concert I went to. Should have known that -_-

  • geez...hmmm...wonder what this song is about...? hee hee. I love this song.

  • I jizzed.

  • MMMHHH!!!!!

  • when i saw this live i was so high i thought the cartoon guys in the back video were coming to get me!!!

  • una cancionsota... yo la entendi apenas en el 98.... que rolón la neta..

  • Rush is the best thing in the whole WORLD!

  • it´s amazing this song

  • The Avalon U5.... a wonderful piece of equipment. A Bass Players best friend...

  • this is the song i use when i have an arguement on who is the best bassist live, the skeptics get silenced after hearing it

  • I just love this song :D

  • one of rush's best instrumentals

  • The washer/dryer on the stage are kind of an inside joke. Geddy doesn't use normal bass amps because he wanted a "clean, dry" sound, hence the washer/dryer. Notice, no amps present on his side of the stage?

  • He plugs into the PA directly.

  • not its because they have clean music

that baby in the pram on far cry means something also but no one knows what

  • @kazuro66 he also uses direct input into the house speakers, and since theres nothing on his side of the stage, he uses appliances. vending machines, refrigerators, washers/dryers, even rotisserie ovens for the snakes and arrows tour. its his "stack envy"

  • @kazuro66 he uses a tech 21 rbi straight to the board and stage moniters

  • @kazuro66 Actually, they are there just keep the stages from feeling empty. Plus they get to throw out clothing to the luck few in the front seats.

  • How come in every tour they do, whatever they wear the 1st day of the tour, they wear the same thing until the tour is done.

  • Do they really?

  • I love this song :D but how come they got washingmachines going on the stage ?

  • why not have washing machines on the stage? lol\

  • ye lol.. whatever :p

  • 4:44

Alex is like, "See you in the break room, Geddy."

  • Great Video! My only wish is that "Mr. Woo!" in the background could have kept his enthusiasm to himself.

  • they are my heroes!!!

  • My favorite Rush instrumental : )

  • I've always wondered: what is that 'Thing' that you're supposed to leave alone???

  • I wonder that every day.

  • lmfao!~

  • brasil porra!!!!!!!!!

  • is this video a bootleg official??

  • Nah dude its not official... it was recorded by amateur fans with multi cams. but is still amazing with fair sound quality with out distortion and pictures fair too.. i think its a great set of vids..

    Thanks RTF!!!!

  • I LOOOOOOOOOVE this instrumental!!!!! I wish they played in the S&A tour....they left a good one out!!!!! Thank you for putting this up!!!

  • Hopefully they'll play this next tour.

  • It seems from these vids that for some reason this tour was so amazingly clear compared to the lest two. here you really hear the sound of everything they do, whereas alot of the playing was lost on the s&a tour, it was just really fuzzy

  • Agreed.

I love Rush, don't get me wrong, but they have not been as good live as they were since the Vapor Trails tour.

  • I don't really think they as a band are getting worse, ithink theyre always improving, but they really do need to examine their volume level. It is just a bit much, and for music that is so full and dense like theirs, so much is lost because it all just mushes together, especially the drums.

  • absolutely true,

i saw both Rotterdam concerts in 2007 and

i must say; it sounded pretty messy, especially the drums. Too loud, too heavy.

When you hear the sound quality of the dvd you might think totally different. but hey, in the mix they put it all together as they like.
