because i cut out her outline - when i completed the mask you could then see the layer under neath - this happened to be the sky part of the footage. you can move the layer below left or right to change at which point the footage is. Hard to explain but it is explained in the tutorial@TheDatorfreak

thanks a lot mutleee for this tutorial, but i have a question, why did u reshoot the whole scene from the door without the girl, when u were gonna edit it using a photoshop layer?? is it possible to do it without using a photoshop layer?? thanks a lot. you need to shoot the whole scene without the girl as there is camera movement to follow the flight path. Without footage without the girl you cannot have the girl fly around the screen. I hope I have understood your question correctly@aks19880

yeah thanks a lot i tried it ur way and it worked and i also tried a different method instead of converting it into photoshop layers u can just freeze frame the background when the girl is not present using time remapping effect in after effects. :)

not done any for that. Just experiment with the cc streak effects and use a feathered mask to place it behind the flying body.

What version of after effects is this?? Bc mine doesn't look the same and says CS3 at the top and there's no keyframe button?!?

I think i used version 7. You have a newer version. You will have keyframes. Just click the little stopwatch of the control that you want to keyframe. Just do some looking about:o)

yeah it does work well but doesnt always get the direction and amount of blur I was after - good point though to try using that first.

Great video.  As I was watching it, i was already thinking about having my roomie jumping off the balcony and zooming away.

A nice touch would be to insert a closeup shot of the girls face with her hair blowing in the wind as she flies.

How do you do the layering of the videos?

When I input the footage from my camcorrder to the pc I just split the footage into two avi files. You can do it in any editing program. Then I imported the 2 avi files into after effects. You could also split a single avi file inside after effects by duplicating the original then cutting out the bits you didnt want from each layer. Does that answer your question? cheers :)
