  • what is the name of the song?

  • I made my copper salts by first converting the copper(II)-ions to copper(II)carbonate.

    The carbonate is then easily converted to any salt needed.

  • how did you convert the ions?

  • Here are the theoretical reaction equations. The actual copper(II)carbonate contains hydroxide too, anyhow:

    CuSO4 + 2 NaHCO3 --> CuCO3 + CO2 + Na2SO4 + H2O

    Simply enough just mix small amounts of baking soda with copper sulphate solution until no more CO2 is liberated. Then filter and wash the carbonate.

    Now we can take for example vinegar and volá:

    CuCO3 + 2 CH3COOH --> Cu(CH3COO)2 + CO2 + H2O
