@voltronsky - They`re still making fantastic music, same as white folks but there`s not much cash in it, so don`t expect to see any of it on MTV. You`ll just have to search for it elsewhere.

i absolutely love this group. i first heard them when i was 17 yrs old and i was captivated by them, and i will always be a fan of theirs. not only did they have great music but great lyrics also. one of the best rock groups of all time
Times up -wall to wall sonic, creative perfection-It's almost too good-great fu*kin' everybody-will calhoun should be knighted.-soulfull all the way-with the subtlety of a bulldozer-muzz is necessary though.-what happens when musicians practice through desire and not through jive.
blending rock n funk like extreme, chilli peppers and faith no more! i only heard cult of personality and glamour boys when these guys first appeared . now i wanna get this album on cd coz i luv it!!!
Living Colour has it all!Great, intriguing lyrics, the music is great!Full of imagination, and combination of all sorts of music plus education in music, simply unique. The guys are talented, even their styling is so authentic!So...living colour! One of my most favorite bands ever!
@soilwork1995 I feel exactly the same way. I'm black and I love all kinds of white rock bands. If you saw my CD collection, you'd think I was white. LOL!
Dan: It's a shame you don't have a million views. This is an incredible piece of work. Do you know the song Life by Living Colour? I believe it's the same album. Could you upload? Thanks and God bless!
what happened to black people.. excuse me, 'African Americans'.. they had bands like this representing everything that they had accomplished musically, they kept the standard bar of musicianship high, paying respect to everybody since Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, to Hendrix, Kool & the Gang, Curtis Mayfield to Bad Brains, even Michael Jackson before he turned white. What represents African Americans today? total bullshit R&B like Kanye West, Lil Wayne, a billion clone gangsta rappers etc... wtf??
Man this song rings more true now more than ever. I have always said that greed will break the back of this country. Look at what is happening to the country. Stock market in the tank. China buying us up left and right...We need to relearn history or end up like the rest of the past great civilizations. They all fell from within..we will be robbed of our riches or freedom and pride...
They regrouped back in 2000. I read a book saying that they broke up in 95 and got bored with going there seperate ways so one of the guys called the other and got back together.
IF you like this song check out lost halo, and if you love the lyrics he puts out in this one check out flying. those two and this one are probably my favorite songs by them that sent them into the top 10 of my top band list
I may very well be in the minority here, but this song-not Cult of Personality is what grabbed me about this band and made me love them. I wish they did more like this particular song....
I've been hooked on these guys since I saw them on Saturday Night Live doing Cult, but you're right. This album and this song in particular put them over the top for me.
Up until about 8 or 9 years ago I hadn't really explored Living Colour's music because "Cult of Personality" was my only conception of them and I am only lukewarm on that song (as are many black listeners), but after I discovered "Pride" I am almost angry that Living Colour didn't get more play on black radio when they were hot. I like hard rock and "Pride" exemplifies what I envisioned for hard rock, but with a groovier black spin on it....
im blac l and 43 i was up on these brothers since they came out since 1987,dont say all blacks are sleep, here are other black rock bands, bad brains, fishbone, xavion, eric gales band
I didn't say all. I'm a 28 year old brother from Harlem and folks were really frontin' on these kats when they were doing their thing. I think it may have been because many black radio stations were more afraid of giving them a chance than the "white" rock stations. Moreover, I was lovin' Luther, Freddie, RUN DMC and LL like everyone else, but I am glad LC exists because I don't believe all black music should sound the same....
I didn't say that you had to be black to be up on Living Colour. In fact, many black folks shunned them. If this is music or "black" music is up to your interpretation. It's performed by black musicians and that is usually all the qualification that is needed. Would it be just music if it were some rap group...? People often want to remove the racial aspect of things they like, but have no problem racializing the things that they don't like. What do you think...?
One of the stunning things about this song and the album it comes from is how fresh it sounds, and it is like 16, 17 years old. Thank God these guys are still making music!

An Amazing band like this don't need appear to much on the tv for be wonderful

@verseaucamus I share your enthusiasm, but Faith No More didn't exactly get much more mainstream exposure than Living Colour. At least not in the U.S.
Same with Alice in Chains.
I totally agree about the rest of them.
