I've been through Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venture Scouts in my time I can honestly say I've had the time of my life and learnt so much during those years. I don't think there is a better person for the job, the UK scouting movement needed someone young, knowledgeable, respected and with bags of charisma, Bear delivers!

i would say it's never too late if i could i would use that change to go there ,you should deffently use it if u can , in our country nobody teaches scouting stuff so realy bear is the best scout teacher ever so use it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in Australia, and 19 , i have been looking for something to do, some skills and adventure, what exactly do you guys get upto? and do you recommend i start looking for a local scouts? i am starting to get more interested as i look

Go! Find some scouts and get out there in the wild. I've been a scout for thirteen years now and it's only getting more fun every day. The cool thing about the outdoors is that it get's more fun every time you learn something new. And you allways learn something new :)

Scouts is great fun and you would be looking for a Rover Crew. They can do anything they want really. The only limit is your imagination. Look for a local Rover Crew around you and join into one of their meetings and see what they do.

Chief Scout is a voluntary position and like all voluntary roles in UK Scouting is flexible taking into account how much time people have to give dependent upon their other responsibilities - such as work, family etc.

Brilliant, He shows you don't have to be a parent or a older person to enjoy leading beavers, cubs and scouts. As a 29 year old leader with no kids I hope this brings more leaders in the younger age ranges into Scouting to reduce the massive waiting list of kids wanting to join, but cant because of no leaders. WELL DONE BEAR!
