  • 2nd try sounds bach

  • "I wrote that" hahahaha.. I listened to Joo and Igudesman in Dubrovnik this summer. Julian Rachlin festival. They had the most amaaaazing show, I laughed for about three hours without stopping. Thanks for that.

  • Damn i can listen to Joo all day without geting bored

  • what is the name of the first song??

  • @tan9194 uptown girl, my friend!

  • @tan9194 "Invention In C Minor"

  • The man knows every single fucking classical composer right up to everything that's played today! This is what I love about Joo and Igudesman, and others who are just like them. Not the classical musicians who just know and play classical music, but those who play classical music and today's music, and know how to put both into a medley of different styles. And that, at least to me, is beautifully awesome! :*)

  • It sounds simply GREAT

  • It's crazy how it sounds nothing like Billy Joel yet sounds exactly like Billy Joel. Nice to see someone who has found their own voice in music nowadays.

  • Oh, Great, great, super great! I love it!

  • It's still rock n roll to me...

  • 240p... We meet again...

  • 漂亮的視頻

  • He reminds me of Snape

  • 最後に弾いていた曲名わかる方いませんか?

    すごく好きなんですけど・・・わからなくて・・・・

  • Hyung-ki Joo well this is very great to listen to indeed

  • He´s the Chacky Chan on the PIANO :)

  • laughed so hard for the uptown girl... :D

  • it is almost impossible to play at the same time as someone else, but this.........must be psychic or something! :)

  • @BizzieLizzieMusic its called music...they have the same measures and timing...ah...its not to hard to understand

  • @tuzikbobik1 im not a music illiterate but it's usually only if people play like a metronome that they get it almost exactly in time wiv each other, nd these 2 dont! that's sum nasty jab you decided to send my way 'its not hard to understand' yes i do understand ThankYouVeryMuch! that's so annoying! besides, i was merely trying to emphasize how great they are and trying to show my support. jeez (-_-") and wtf? it's called music?! how does that have anything to do with the definition of music?!

  • Wow...a total remix...

    I want the music sheets....

  • why doesn't Billy Joel writes film music? D:

  • Awesome!!!

  • what is the song at 1:48 plz

  • @chocolatechocochoco he made up a version of uptown girl that sounds like mozart (the theme is a little hard to pick up, but it's there)

  • @y2kkmak oh crap!

i wanted to play it :( too bad there will be no sheet for it,

joo is so talented, i was sure that was a mozart one, or sorta

  • @y2kkmak i didn't find it any hard at all to hear it

  • Joo can play amazing in comedy and the others genres!!!

  • keep in mind, Billy Joel's background is as a classical pianist-

  • I came to the video to hear Billy Joel and stayed to listen to Hyung-ki Joo.

  • First piece is has a nice theme and is ellaborated wonderfully. Second piece reminds me a lot of, "And So it Goes" in the beginning. I like the connections between passages in the second ones however.

  • second piece seems like a bach piece

  • @chibimaru8 I was thinking that too

  • I really don't like Billy Joel, but I do acknowledge talent and these two have it in spades!

  • i play piano.. An wish I played like him

  • I love his "small" hands! He s the best pianist on earth! xD And the funniest!

  • Mama mia cuanta genialidad...!!

  • Jajajajajaja, pretty good.

  • he plays his ornaments beautifully *_*

  • Richard ... It was great meeting you and seeing you perform at Fred and Lora's party on Saturday. Thanks SO much for the DVD... am enjoying it already. Love these YouTube videos too. You and Aleksey ROCK it! ... Sue ;~)

  • I purchased Joel's "Fantasies and Delusions" sheet music and Joo's CD - it's great music, although it's quite challenging to play!

  • Richard Hyung-ki Joo looks so good when he plays, it looks so easy

    :D

    that and he's amazing!

  • i Love IT

  • Richard is very skilled. Incredibly qualified! I like his playing... YEAH!

  • billy's always been called a bit "cocky", but it's nice to see that the man recognizes his own limitations. he did the smart thing; he called in a REAL gunslinger to bring his compositions to life. hat's off to the brilliant mr. joo for his wonderful performance!

  • i luv this video !!!

  • I kind of like that they play a bit out of sync; it sounds exactly like what it is - two players with different styles playing the same piece, and neither is really trying to be exactly like the other. It's very honest-sounding.

  • haptezdoudadouda <3 alias Joo with 2 oo, you're the best =)

  • I like Joo very much, he's such a good pianist. And his shows with Igudesman are extremely funny.

does anyone know how I can get the notes for the last piece? I'd like to try to play it!

  • I never fail to smile when Richard Hyung-ki Joo plays, he's just so amazing.

  • Me too ! He is an extremely gifted pianist with a quirky sense of humor!Love him and igudesman.

  • what is the second song ?

  • @topp0 Its Invention in C minor written by Joel.

  • If a man at 29 years old had a great song but he was a very shitty player and shittily shy.... Would you listen to him?

  • I want Billy to make a chart topper once again.. He is 60 I think and he should make the 'pop' once again...Bob Dylan did it!

  • Billy is a legend and he has the creative balls to give to a better player..... True artist!

  • A better payer, not a better songwriter!

  • Billy is a legend and he has the creative balls to give to a better player..... True artist!

  • Hey everyone...check out my video response: Nunley's Carousel, which is definitely my favorite from Fantasies and Delusions. Feel free to leave comments.

  • I respect Billy Joel very much and think he's a wonderful musician, but it's a really dumb idea to have two pianist play the exact same piece at the same time. It is very difficult to be synchronized unless they play like machines with metronome precision (which is not how these pieces are meant to be played!). He should have arranged it for two pianos and then played it with Mr. Joo.

  • Mozart's uptown girl..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA this is awesome

  • billy played a "classical" version of the longest time on the documentary of river of dreams. he said that he found music that could be played as instrumental alone he found made the better material, almost all his music starts as piano solo works, and the words come later

  • Yeah many people compose music for instruments people don't even know how to play like many violin ists who never touched a piano can still compose for the piano but probably can't play their own compositions.

  • what billy is saying is not uncommon. Schubert was not a great pianist, and couldnt even earn a living from his playing in any form. yet he is considered a great composer. Berlioz himself said the best he could do was play with only one had to pluck out melodies. its the 'hearing' the harmonies in your head that makes the difference

  • reminds me of what victor borge would do....hahah

  • his "dublinesque" or however you spell it...sounds like some "Danny Boy" snuck in there...hah

  • That is so interesting hearing what Billy Joel said in the beginning...The genius that he is saying that he can't play his own classical material live because it will sound like shit. God I like this guy. A real class act. True Story.

  • IKDY, but for some reason the beginning of the Invention in C composition reminds me a bit of the Mexican Connection.

  • air (dublinesque)~~my favourite

  • "I play 'em like shit" haha

  • too bad it's out of sync

  • @InfinityIsDeath It's not out of sync, they're playing "as they want" the same song

  • @InfinityIsDeath Maybe Billy Joel wrote it to be like that. It IS Billy Joel. It adds flavour to the piece, no?

  • @charlietotem I meant to say that when I watched it, the video was out of sync with the audio track so there fingers would play a note and I'd still be hearing the last one he played. I didn't mean to comment on the piece itself, if that's what you (or anyone else reading this) thought. I probably should have been more specific

  • @InfinityIsDeath Go there yourself, show those clows what's a pianist!

  • Comment removed

  • @Lucisazuis Hyung-ki Joo is sight reading but Billy Joel not!

  • Do you take something Lucisazuis?

  • It's what he's NOT taking... :S

  • nawebonada de bien es este video joo te admiro weom tokas muy bestia

  • you look very good in this vdo hehe i love ur music^^

  • This album was released back in 2001. Has Billy Joel composed any new classical pieces?

  • Comment removed

  • Can anybody please tell me what song Richard Plays plays at 4:25-5:22 ?

    It will be greatly appreciated.

  • its part of the piece air dublinescque

  • Dublinesque also has segments from "And so it goes"

  • I like it for the last music very much, sound good" i love it..

  • i can hear a lot of "Joel" in the Dublinesque. It sounds a lot like Scenes from an italian Restaurant and A little like New York State of Mind. Love it!

  • at the beginning it kind of sounds like "and so it goes".

  • God. This guy makes uptown girl sound good!

    WOAH!

  • What some of the stuff from Igudesman And Joo. Its from their "A Little Nightmare Music" concert. My favorites are "Rachmaninov had big Hands" and "Riverdancing Violinist".
