Hi my iphone 3gs will not do anything when i plug it into pc all that happens is i get a faint apple logo do you have any idea what the problem is and how to fix any help you can give will be a great help thanks
My iPhone 3GS recently went through a washing machine. Lol I got a new one, but I would still like to fix the old one. I plugged it in , and everything works, but the screen is black. What all parts will I need?
@TheWargasmxx Unfortunately when it goes into water many items can or will go bad and even if you fix them there is no guarantee that it will work 100% correctly.
I recently had the sim tray broken in half but one of the halfs is stuck in the iPhone and I can't get it out. If I were to take it apart, would I see that broken part and be able to remove it?
I have a 3G in the draw which my son can have but the slide to unlock part of the screen does not work at all. What do I have to replace, the digitizer or the LCD or both? Thanks for the video
This was very useful. My gf dropped hers in water (sermged) and I took it part and cleaned the contacts. Luckly Its works now, it would nothing for awhile
I just used this video to diagnose what was wrong with my friends iPhone. Turns out the LCD went bad. But I still took the rest of it apart, just to show her first hand what it looks like. Thanks for the detailed video/instructions!
I think I'm gonna have to take mine apart because my iPhone is second hand and it has dust between the screen and the LCD which is annoying me! :/ I think the seal around the side is a tad worn or something.
@clodester it would not work. The connector on the lcd/screen is different between the two models just to start with. There are other issue but it would take forever to go over them all.
We are getting a lot of emails asking us to trouble shoot your broken screen issues. Please goto DirectFix(dot)com and on the left side of the webpage under company info > click "Advice Articles" > then read the "How To Tell if Your Broken iPhone 3G Needs a Digitizer or LCD" article
Thanks for the vid! I've got dust under my screen from keeping it in my pocket constantly. It's been driving me crazy, but now I can remove it thanks to your detailed tear down.
Lets make this simple once you have water damage most of the time the motherboard is bad and sometime other parts. Now you are at the point that the cost to fix it is more than getting a new phone from ATT/Apple. Not worth repairing.
If you need help, parts, tools or accessories please goto PDAparts(dot)com to order what you need. Also get 5% off your first first order on our webpage. Just use coupon code YOUTUBE at checkout for a limited time only.
I will make it simple. When it breaks from dropping it then it is out of warranty. PDAparts(dot)com will offer replacement parts along with this video which will allow you to install the part and save a bunch of money.
My iphone 3G crashes constantly on everything except Itunes. Would anyone know why this is happening?

@jayric36 Maybe. It will depend on how much is stuck in the slot etc.

SuperPandazzz 7 months ago
@SuperPandazzz You would need the Touch Screen
pdaparts 6 months ago
@SuperPandazzz you would probably need a new digitizer if its just not recognizing the touch.. if the screen doesnt work then its the lcd.

3G Cases work for the 3G and 3GS cases work for the 3GS. You can not use a 3G on a 3GS and you can not use a 3GS on a 3G.
