This has nothing to do with Fascism and the third Reich. Thomas Rainer seems to be a communist and if you look at the communist-States like CCCP and China with Tse-Tung, you'll see that they have a Uniform-Fetish too. Just look at the DDR an stuff like that, military and uniforms, that makes all people look the same. And this is what communism wants, that all men and women are same.
Thomas Rainer once was in the army. He decided to leave it for his music, though. He sees a lot of parallels between the dedication to a unit and to a band. So he decided to let military aesthetics become the main motif of Nachtmahr. That's what he said in an interview.

I say it is good to be expressive, creative and inventive and it always shocks me when people are so very square and not open minded and also when people are freaked out by uniforms. People can also be very very very judgmental and form a rather nasty, harsh opinion very quickly. Also the media can be twisted, and like to promote the opposite of what people wish to express and opposite of who people are.

Als ich das erste Mal Nachtmahr hörte, gefiels mir überhaubt nicht... Ich find auch jetzt nicht alle Lieder gut, es ist mir einfach zu viel BoomBoomBoom (auch wenn ich das Lied dazu mag... xD)
Aber mein Freund hat mir die Musik echt näher gebracht... Die Jungs können echt was... Zb. dieses Lied ist einfach der Hammer...
Und wegen Nazis... Ich glaub nicht dass sie Nazis sind, aber gewisse sprüche auf T-Shirts lassen einen das denken... Aber das ist ja zb. auch bei gewissen Pagan Metal Bands so...

I agree, its mostly just fetish stuff, most Industrial music (which of course is not true about all) is usually anti-war rather then pro war, though they grant the illusion of pro-war sometimes =) regardless, I love LOVE LOVE Nachtmahr, I really enjoyed seeing them when they played at Das Bunker in Los Angeles ^^

This has nothing to do with Fascism and the third Reich. Thomas Rainer seems to be a communist and if you look at the communist-States like CCCP and China with Tse-Tung, you'll see that they have a Uniform-Fetish too. Just look at the DDR an stuff like that, military and uniforms, that makes all people look the same. And this is what communism wants, that all men and women are same.

Thomas Rainer once was in the army. He decided to leave it for his music, though. He sees a lot of parallels between the dedication to a unit and to a band. So he decided to let military aesthetics become the main motif of Nachtmahr. That's what he said in an interview.
