I was stationed inBiloxi, Mississippi. It was the rectum of Mississippi. I rarely left the base, except to go to the beach or have beer and pizza with some buddies at an Italian pizza place in town. Still racist and dirty in 1965. I hated it.
@uncoverbrother right?! I recently saw this movie on HBO a week back; he WAS such a hot boy. Have you seen him lately though?! What a puffy old man! Well, at least we have him immortalized here.
@wasntmemrbond007 yes and van buren and fort chaffee I'm pretty sure that bridge he's on in the train is the one that goes over the arkansas river from fort smith and into van buren.
Hauntingly cool song. Searched for this version. Was surprised that it was a cover. Stands up to modern standard and will find a place on my iPod mix.
All of you people are full of shit. Not to mention hate-mongers. The Japanese were just as bad as the Nazis in WWII. And the US had to drop the Nukes because it was them or freedom and freedom isn't free.

We were in Koea and Vietnam because our government wake up one day and thought, hey, we don't like asians, so let's invade their countries. WW2 was alright when it came to killing people, after all, we were killing white Germans, and don't believe the lie, the japs were never involved.
love this opening music

but the japanese didn't try to exterminate an entire race of people...I do feel the nuclear end to the war was necessary though

I suggest reading "The Rape of Nanking" by Iris Chang and then think again about your comment regarding the Japanese...

@FargoMarc Ironic since this version of the song was performed by a Japanese-American.
