tablets no usb 2.0 ports & no ethernet port in case the WiFi & 3g don't work well(y should i b 4ced 2 buy Starbucks coffee just 2 have WiFi? & half of time, employees act annoyed when u ? them 2 "reset" modem because WiFi is 2 crowded). Tablets also not "upgradeable" 2 latest O.S. smartphones more $ but more portable? but damn that micro usb cable! b4 i $ a tablet or smartphone, i atleast want an ethernet port & 1 "actual" usb 2.0 port. is this 2 much 2 ask? oh, & easily "upgradeable."
@goohber1 You are forgetting one important fact, Tablets are entertainment devices...if you want all the things you mention, you need to buy a tablet computer, like a fujitsu, not a toy.
The device is good for internet browsing and YouTube but the n800 was better larger screen better os but still this us a good cheap solution fr intrernet on the go and btw this isnot a phone but you can videocall with skype
@XXLink paper towers? when computers first came out we were told we would cut down on paper, but paper usage doubled. Where I work in the Court system, we are mostly paperless, but we use as much paper now as we did before we went 'paperless'
@johnmonk66 areena.yle. fi/video/1073522 (remove spaces to get the link) click "Avaa Ikkunaan" and the stuff starts playing. first thing you're going to see is the actual amount of paper. the date of the vid is thursday 17.6.2010. wouldnt it be easier if the paper towers were to be replaced by tablets?
@XXLink silly point, it will cut down on paper for a week or two? what about a hundred years from now, after you have replaced your tablets 50 times, what are you going to do with all the tablets? paper lasts forever
@johnmonk66 you should stop beign retrosexual and sometimes read what you've posted. cant you come up with any dumber solution than saying that paper cant be replaced? think how much text can you store at 500gb hardware. paper lasts couple years but ink faints fast. database is always there and easy to update, unlike paper. And its better for environment too.
i have a laptop but its kinda big, so i am looking for somethin i can carry around easily and just browse the web, maybe type a office document or 2, but mainly for travelling.
i pay the same for home internet that everyone pays for home internet, you need to ask your local internet provider that question. it is probably around 50 bucks a month for internet alone unless you get a deal for cable tv and phone as a package
for high speed unlimited access? no. add skype and it replaces the need for a home phone. add netflix and you can watch movies online and have them delivered. then you have the online gaming.
Agreed, I use Xbox Live on Xbox 360, and the $5 a month I pay for it is great. That's just for the games. Using Xbox Live to talk to friends (with a silver account) is free and eliminates the need for a phone...(at least with my friends who have Xbox)

no usb 2.0 option(not micro or mini) port, or ethernet adaptor(incase wifi or 3g fail)? bumber, oh well, i'll have 2 look some more.

@goohber1 none of what you listed was on internet tablet 5 years ago, in fact this was the only internet tablet besides archos.

i think tablets are gonna be useful in politics if they can be used to replace the paper towers which are a bitch to go through.

Hmm i dont see this phone so useful for anyone, it's quite big and difficult to use and with 1 gb expandable memory nowdays is like nothing.

it does have an operating system. Windows, Mac and Linux variants arent the only Operating systems in the world. It has it's own little OS.

hey do u think this is a good buy? how much was it and do u think i should get this or an HD monitor>?
ysn370 3 years ago
it was $140.
but choosing between this and a hd monitor is like asking if you should get a car or build a new deck, two completely different subjects
johnmonk66 3 years ago
ok, wat about comparing this and the Vulcan Flipstart?
ysn370 3 years ago
this is a $140 internet device, the $600 flipstart is a real computer. naturally the flipstart wins easily.
what is it you are looking to do with it?
johnmonk66 3 years ago
i have a laptop but its kinda big, so i am looking for somethin i can carry around easily and just browse the web, maybe type a office document or 2, but mainly for travelling.
ysn370 3 years ago
well then, everything depends on price.
for $140 this thing is okay, but you have to get external keyboard, and i dont know if it is compatable with your office software.
i think if you can spend above 300 you should search ebay for umpc's, very small computers.
johnmonk66 3 years ago
ya im willin to go up to 400
