  • wooooowwwwwwwwww is a fuckin amazing

    !!!

  • does anybody share my opinion when I say that it ain't that spectacular when they run up a wall when there are stairs right next to it?

bounce left bounce right. over the stairs.. I really can't dig it.

  • Why dont this guys do another movie the first was way better than the 2nd i liked the first verry much becaus they dont use so much rope in it

  • wau it's very cool

  • own specificity and competences.

  • (part 4) so I don't understand why people are argueing on what is free running or not , parkour or not : the basis is the same, it'like kung fu, for exemple, they are different techniques , but it's the same sport ! That is the practisers who are making such differences, because the YAMAKASIs who have initiated all this don't care about all this, they know where they come from and that they are differences because even in the group each one had his

  • I love the way you explain this, I'm sure to use this when needed!

  • (part 3) After the films, the group splitted off because they had different views and opinions on how to develop their sport : some wanted to keep it for themselves, others wanted to teach it, etc... So they took different ways creating their own groups, Parkour for David Belle, Gravity Style for Charles Perrière and Malik Diouf, (I don't remember the name for the others).

  • (part 2). They bigan training in the cities Lisses and Evry in the south suburb of Paris in the early nineties. They made 2 films, "Yamakasi" and "Les Fils du Vent" (Sons of the Wind) with Luc Besson and co-writed by Charles Perrière (one of them). David Belle was not in the cast because he was in conflict with the production and then with his friends.

  • Parkour, freerunning, Gravity Style, Yamakasi... they all do the same sport previously called "Art du Déplacement " in french (Art of Move, or moving). The idea came by David Belle from his father who was a fire man, but he developped it with some friends he grown up with during 15 years. They are the former crew called YAMAKASI : David Belle, Charles Perrière, Malik Diouf, Chau Belle Dinh, Guylain N'Guba Boyeke, Yann Hnautra, Williams Belle and Laurent Piemontesi. (part 1)

  • oyu really need to get a better camera

  • First Of All This Isnt Him-Her, And It Is Youtube That Brings The Quality Down.

  • looks like its filmed whit a mobilephone...

  • Yeah, But I Actually Think This Is A Scene From A Movie, So Yeah... The Actual Quality Before Uploading Is Really High :)

  • man, i wish i could go up stairs like that! its sooo cool!!

  • this isn't parkour, if you involve flips or just run around showing off and jumping from building to building you're not doing Pakour. *sigh* Je deteste les Yamakasi, ils sont bete et fou! C'est pas Le Parkour mec, ca ce free running. Vous est un fis du cochon!

  • you realize that what they are doing is called,

    L'art Du Deplacement right?

  • displacement is forward movement. The distance from where you started and where you finish. This is why wasted movement is frowned upon in parkour, because sadly it is a waste. To those at home watching through there Computer screens they may enjoy flips and tricks but to those that honour and have a passion for parkour it is unnecessary,

and does not need any affiliation with parkour.

  • exactly.

flips and stuff are fun to do and can be fun to watch, but their not parkour.

    their excess.

  • I respect what you say, but disagree. A flip is not entirely wasted movement: It promotes your body into kind of an 'Airborne' mood, causing you to finish movements more in the air.

Also in open cities, it could be used to simply break from a run; since running, also is not Parkour by itself.

  • i think in a few situations if could be more efficient to flip, but inmost situations theres more effective ways to get from point a to b

but then again, thats only if ur going twords pure efficiency, which is really what parkour is based on..=p

  • I like what you say. Although truly if you were going for PURE efficiency, then you would cut out some natural Parkour movements.

For instance the dash vault, which is basically a monkey vault with style. If you actually were running from someone- I think I would just pop out basic moves like a speed vault (In my opinion the fastest).

  • SPEED VAULT IS HARDER THAN A DASH vault.

  • I never said a Dash vault was harder, I simply commented it was less efficient and probably slower than a speed vault.

  • "Their not parkour" urgh, another person on the net assuming their right because they've read an extract from some other source. Mate, you haven't, and probably wont earn the right to say if flips are or are not parkour. So shut the fuck up with your superior bullshit, i personally believe parkour is what i make it, if i want to flip, ill fine well flip thank you very much, and i'll still classify it as parkour. Dont post another ignorant comment like that again plzthnx.

  • dude its not like i just read some shit, i do parkour myself first of all and free running because their basically the same thing,

but parkours about 100% efficiency from A to B and free running is more about messin around and doing extranious stuff for fun or for flash.

    david belle says so himself.

    stfu.

  • Nope, they're the same in my opinion, and also in Sebastian Foucan's opinion, and he has as much respect in the PK world as DB :)

  • i realize sf is just as good and respected as david.

i also realize that his style is different than davids for that reason that david doesnt do extranious moves, and sebastian does.

its all free movement at the end of the day with similar principles and techniques so it dsnt really matter..

its just got a slightly different outlook.

  • PK AND FR ARE THE SAME.

  • The Yamakasi do neither parkour or freerunning.. its all jsut movement, they even explain about how seb and dave broke off with their own interpretations (freerunning and parkour) , so they are different technically..but the yamakasi go it right - ITS ALL MOVEMENT, its all training your body and your mind.. the community should be one, not split.. we all move, and we all move differently - thats a great thing, we can learn so much!

    :) peace love and cheerios

  • Props to that my friend.

that is the attitude people need to start taking.

  • ;) damn right! :)
