  • You are fabulous, each and every one.

  • Prior's monologue makes me want to cry. I am so deeply touched by the last few sentences. I bless you: MORE LIFE.

  • Watched this movie for the first time in my girlfriend's arms... as a two evening event together, on the couch... She has made such an amazing impact on my life... I never expected to find this kind of love in another woman's arms. She's my best friend, lover, confidant, & everything I've ever dreamed of. Crazy how love finds you when you stop looking... <3 her.

  • Fluke28889- um... The play ended the same way. Read it.

  • Prior's monologue in this scene makes me almost vomit - this syrupy, "feel-good" ending ruins an otherwise brilliant play

They should have cut when Mary Louise parker's character is flying through the clouds, away from NY.

  • @fluke28889 I agree. Completely.

  • @fluke28889 I agree.

  • stunning

    GAY RIGHTS FOREVER

  • I love the relationship between Prior and Meryl Streep's character. (Mrs. Pitt, i think?) Their friendship is so unlikely considering the fact that they are complete opposites, but they share some kind of strong connection. I think it's wonderful, and Prior Walter is one of my favorite characters of all time. This movie is remarkable.

  • Thats some strong shit there. And the series are generally extremly heavy to digest. Having said that the acting is beautiful and the plot is amazing

  • It always made me sad that they didn't include Joe in this last scene, or even mention how things all ended up for him. He deserved a happy ending too, didn't he?

  • well i know what happend to jugoslavia now, if fucking fell apart! :)

  • 'The great work begins.' I cry every time i watch this part.

  • Bravo.....I get goose bumps every time I think of this beautiful scene. Thank you for posting this. I am remembering all my precious friends who are angels now.

  • Beautiful

  • if all the fags and jews in the world died, would anyone care?

  • @wilcox24 If you died...would anyone care?

  • @thejohnmithredux shut up, cunt

  • @wilcox24 Such a witty retort. No doubt all your friends must be in constant laughter.....oh no...sorry...you don't have any.

  • @thejohnmithredux more than you, you cum dumpster

  • @wilcox24 I would be astounded if you had ever kissed a girl in your life....It must be hard for you...still a virgin at 35....tragic. Also...got to ask...you seem to spend a lot of your time thinking about man on man action for a hetrosexual man. You Mary are what's known as a Closet Case. Don't worry....We don't hate you. Just don't hate yourself. Kepp chasing that Rainbow.

  • @thejohnmithredux not 35; not even half that, dumbass; and i've kissed more girls than u ever will

  • @wilcox24 Funny....then why do you spend your days on the Net talking nonsense Mary? Let's be honest with ourselves shall we? You must have a server lack in your life if all you can do is respond with nonsense and bile? Why not try a sentence that isn't accusatory Mary? I'm sure you will get those girls you desire if you try to be less of a jerk.

  • Beautiful music! "The great work begins."

  • the final monologue is really touching. It is impossible do not cry.

  • Doing this scene for a monologue. Best idea ever-yes or no?!

  • @Yondaime8893 Depends how you do it.

  • One of the best plays, and movie adaptations. Brilliant script, brilliantly acted, with a message beyond AIDS.

  • It still baffles me that Justin Kirk did not get higher accolades for this.

  • hello everyone i would like to ask u a question: is there any sentence in this serial like "love is a menace, responsability is a menace, do not let anyone to stop ur way, save yourself..." bla bla bla something like that

    thank you for the help

  • It seems a little odd to me as I watch this scene that there is no sign or mention of Joe Pitt, the character well played by Patrick Wilson. This is Joe's mother sitting here at the fountain with Louis and Belize. And considering also that Joe was unfortunate enough to get mixed up with Louis for a while, it seems even stranger to have him absent. as if he just evaporated.

Joe Pitt was in many ways a more sympathetic character than Louis or Belize, in spite of his weaknesses.

  • oh god a buch of nai fags !

  • I saw this been filmed!! I was stood above the arches watching them doing the scene where they sit on the side of the fountain talking!

  • Angels in America is a masterpiece.

  • thanks them

  • this has always been my favorite place in New York. I used to do homework right on those steps at the end

  • If anyone is interested, a wonderful place to read of angels, a poets impression, anyway, is Rilke's "Duino Elegies". Give it a shot, you won't regret it.

  • That was quite beautiful... =)

  • I have..no words....except this little tid bit: IN every time in what we call history we find meaning. We are demigods for God fricking sake! We create what we want and if we want, the creation breathes. You ARE able to let this breath. Go Prior and all of you!

    and all of you.

  • I'm touched beyond words!

  • A moving soliloquy. Maybe a little too esoteric for me, but the sound of his voice and his words soothed. I like the idea of the contrast of a warm winters day.

  • Oh !!! I want to HUG you ! But you are mistaken to think Angels is too esoteric.

    It's NOT !!!!

It's all there, obviously apparent !!!!!

Kushner isn't hiding anything. He writes Beautifully about Beautiful Ideas !!!! He's simply sharing his Mellifluous Gift with us all ....... don't think about "what this all means" .....

    Just Enjoy.

    Pure Poetry.

God, Prior...... your Valediction at 4:33 ....... TEARS FLOWING.

  • what a stupid ignorand

  • what a stupid ignorant

  • That's not ignorance, that's sad experience.

  • Wow! Just how big of a twat are you?

  • No bigger than you brotha :P dont worry...

  • This was a wonderfull ending to an incredable series,

  • Best part of the movie

  • One of my favorite storylines of the film is the transformation of Hannah Pitt (Meryl Streep.) She went from Conservative Mormon Housewife to a free thinking and open minded caring human being. I wish that would happen more in this country!

  • most beautiful epilogue ever, truely magical.

  • great monologue 1:11

  • Am I the only queen who catches Justin Kirk's channeling of Paul Lynde at 2:50 ?

This is a superlative film. And this final scene makes me SOB every time. ( young queens get over it. I lived through the Plague. My nostalgia is strewn with tombstones.)

    Watch this film.

    Receive its glory.

Do not fret about what "everything means". It's a fantasy.

Laugh a lot. It's a Comedy, as well.

    It's Life.

    It's Us.

    It's Angels in America.

  • @anglicansag Honey, I'm a straight middle aged woman, and I caught the little homage to Paul Lynde. I positively loved Justin Kirk's little tribute to the Wizard of Oz back in the previous (or two, or whatever) scene. Justin Kirk is positively marvelous.

  • @anglicansag You are right--that is indeed Paul Lynde. And I'm not even a queen!

  • It's the perfect ending for a perfect miniseries.

    Couldn't get any better.

Everything changes: a lover to a friend or a mormon woman become close friend with a young gay man. That's fantastic.

I hope someday the rest of the world will finally wake up and accept gay men and women as normal citizens as they are, with the same rights.

    Everything is possible.

  • I was three months pregnant when I saw this and I cried when he said "You are fabulous each and every one of you...more life" It was so impacting in my decision to keep and raise my son. I have not regretted it since. Beautiful play and I hope to see it in production.

  • Wow... yeah, this is an amazing scene. It has an impact on me, too--I kind of tear up through the whole thing for some reason.

  • it's so sweet how they saved hannah as well :)

  • I saw the touring company of both, back to back a number of years ago, after having lost a friend to that damned disease. Every Pride weekend i have to have a cocktail in his honour as he so loved them on a warm, summer night. One day...do let the pain of this illness be lifted like the wings of an angel not to alight again on those who suffer.

  • Love this miniseries-need to seriously rewatch

Prior's exboyfriend was so annoying though

  • beautiful ending of a beautiful mini-series.

  • I started crying at 4.30 when I watched this on DVD. Amazing, amazing performance and what a beautiful series!

  • this is one of my favorite movies. Amazing work on all parts. The writing is lush. The acting is incredible.

  • I adore this film with all my heart. I have watched it so many times but I cry every time at the end. Justin Kirk and Jeffrey Wright are so brilliant ! Actually, it's very hard to choose which actor / actress is the best. They are all breathtaking !

More life. The Great Work Begins. If it only could be true...

  • You know what I love about this movie - is that if you've ever gone through anything bad. It gives you hope again. I cry everytime at this part of the movie because it really means that you can survive - even when you just think you can't hold on - you really can. "God Bless.. More Life."

  • most definitely!I love Justin Kirk!!!

  • the guy playing Prior is perfect.

  • I need to watch this again. So good.

  • This is so wonderful. And you're right,Malekeater, AIDS will be cured.

  • Every time I watch this ending, I'm always happy. I love you too!

  • I have the links to the entire mini series.

it's on my angels in america video.

  • Jeffrey Wright is such a great actor. If U are suffering with AIDS U need to hear the message at the end.

  • If you're suffering from anything, you need to hear this message. It's just so envigorating :)

  • I have to say thanks for adding this particular scene too. The entire film meant so much to me. When I break out the DVD of it that I have I will play this scene just to hear Justin Kirk say "you are fabulous". Corny I know, but true. Simply an amazing film and play.

  • This is a beautiful miniseries, but this scene is just incredible.

  • This is the best thing I've seen in a very long time. It's just so pure and heart-warming. I love you too!

  • I simply love this movie.. it means a lot to me...

  • I was at the Salt Lake City Airport Hilton the night Part I premiered on HBO...I rushed from my flight to car rental to hotel and settled in...and within true eye-view of Temple Square, this magnificent flow of words and emotion and love and tragedy and redemption consumed me.

On stage, I saw Part I on Broadway the day after it won the Tonys. Part II in San Francisco. But this HBO work...the acting, the locations...oh, the music...Meryl, Emma, Justin, Jeffrey, Mary-Louise and ALL...a miracle.

  • Thomas Newman is wooooonderful :] He really brings to life the emotion in this scene.

  • Angels in America is a masterpiece. this last scene is just brilliant. thank you.

  • So glad to have found this clip finally! I just visited NYC for the first time ever and I spent a few hours walking around Central Park and my only mission was to see the Bethesda Fountain and even though it was turned off, it really is a sight to see.

  • They;'re all gay! COOL

  • I love this scene too. Just saw Angels last month. I had never seen either the stage version or the movie and was blown away!

What happened to Joe? We never find out.

  • since watching this movie when it came out on HBO i have been absolutely in LOVE with it! i watch it almost everyday, even as background visual and sound. THE MOST PERFECT FILM, SCRIPT and ACTING ever caught on film! i know ive quoted so many things from this movie in my everyday life!

  • Thank you for posting this absolutely breathtaking scene. =)

  • I know thanx Just plz tell everyone I need everybody to know about angels in america.

    Take care

  • I'LL CARRY YOU HOME ...Tears falling like rain Feeling the pain You fed my soul like blood in a vein reaching my heart like heat piercing summer - raw, naked, so far apart I'll carry you home - 'cause I'm growing wings for you and for me too...(es©08)
  • You are AWESOME. This is one of my absolute favorite scenes...I'm pretty sure I've quoted this scene for a paper or two for school :)

  • Thanks my friend.

    Take care.
