Actually this team should have won 10 regular season games. The only games they should have lost justifiably was Texas and then they laid an egg against A&M. This is the same team that had Adam James back. They were talented, but they had an attitude. They won 9 games so this was not a pathetic team, except maybe in terms of attitude.

Read Leachs book to get an understand of what he wants in a qb, it isnt the prototypical first round pick, but every one of his qbs seem to break passing records.

That was the best team we had in quite some time. Sure we lost some games, but we sure as hell were better than Texas Tech that year.

If Leach had Ole Miss' team from 08 and 09, he would've done much better than 9 wins a year.

@hawianiceman420 It was actually an 8-4 Ole Miss team. With wins over then number 1 Florida, a top ten LSU team, Arkansas, and Auburn. That team rattled off 6 straight wins to end the season. Ole Miss was stronger than most people think... mainly because they underachieved (as usual under Nutt) losing to Vanderbilt, Wake Forrest, and South Carolina early in the season.
Still your point stands. Nutt is mediocre at best and Leach may not be the best coach in history. But I'd take em!

Here at WVU we r just happy 2 have his best friend Coach Holgerson...if you close ur eyes it's almost impossible to tell the difference. Coach H is more measured with his language on camere but will say what he thinks...and I love that...Id play for either of these 2 guys....and HAPPILY send my kids to play for them. Semper Fi..and I hope Mike comes back to the Big12 so they can go head to head.

Anyone actually an ole miss fan? Or even live in Oxford? We do not want leach here! And hawaiian, I agree with your point about nutt, but I was at the January 2, 2009 cotton bowl. That was the best team we had in quite some time. Sure we lost some games, but we sure as hell were better than Texas Tech that year.

@MrBsball13 I live in Oxford, I go to Ole Miss, and I'm a Rebel fan. I saw a ton of signs in the Grove last week vs LSU supporting Mike Leach coming to Oxford. I hope he does. Mike Leach is a proven winner and I hope we get him.

@hawianiceman420 that Ole Miss team had 13 players currently playing in the NFL (8 currently starting) plus 3 more that were drafted. I am an Ole Miss fan and was at that game. Houston Nutt underachieved every season in Oxford. We just didn't realize it because it's easy to look good compared to crazy Orgeron who at least worked his butt off recruiting some elite talent. If Leach had Ole Miss' team from 08 and 09, he would've done much better than 9 wins a year.

Nonetheless, no excuse for Leach losing to Nutt in the Cotton Bowl. Leach had a 11-1 team that lost to a 7-4 SEC team. And Nutt was 75–48 42–38 at Arkansas and 24–24 10–20 at Ole Miss. THE DEFINITION OF MEDIOCRE

@hawianiceman420 It was actually an 8-4 Ole Miss team. With wins over then number 1 Florida, a top ten LSU team, Arkansas, and Auburn. That team rattled off 6 straight wins to end the season. Ole Miss was stronger than most people think... mainly because they underachieved (as usual under Nutt) losing to Vanderbilt, Wake Forrest, and South Carolina early in the season.
Still your point stands. Nutt is mediocre at best and Leach may not be the best coach in history. But I'd take em!

If you've never played college football you should keep your comments to yourself. You can't possibly understand. I don't agree with Leach's choice of language but it happens all over the country. Adam James is a pussy who always wanted the easy way and called daddy when he didn't get it. Shame on Craig for interfering. Let the boy stand on his own two feet like the rest of us did. I had concussions. Staying in the dark helps the symptoms. Leach did the right thing and got crucified

@whteyford. Leach did more with less talent than anyone else in NCAA football could imagine. If he got 1/2 the blue chippers that AssToMouth, OkAYHomo, or TexAss gets they would have easily 5-6 championships under their belt
