I assume he was at least 220 before cutting to 205, and that is being conservative as many LHWs cut from higher weights. So maybe he gained 30 lbs in that time period. That is not all that unlikely. Alistair is just a genetic freak, for proof of that look at his brother. Reem was always going against his body fighting at LHW. Heavyweight is his natural weight.

He is an incredible stand-up artist, which is why he won K-1 WGP in his prime. Six of his seven losses are by submission, and he was only KO'd by another HIGH LEVEL striker. Therefore his MMA performance speaks for his K-1 credentials, seeing that he was never beaten in the striking department in MMA (except by Manhoef), and only ever lost by subs (no grappling).

then you have to keep in mind that carwin fought lesnar and they went to the 2nd round.
JDS fought Carwin and it went to the 2nd round.
JDS had a hard time with a rusty Crocop and the Roy Nelson.

@nigbot1 I never said Lesnar was a top opponent! In fact, he was quite the opposite. Lesnar brought a lot of attention to the sport and had a few nice victories, but when it's all said and done, it is easy to see Lesnar is more of a "wrestler" than an actual "fighter" and that is why he didn't stand a chance against the experienced Overeem. JDS, on the other hand, is a top-notch fighter and will be a very tough challenge for Alistair. It'll be a great fight and I'll be rooting for Overeem
