I agree with AoibheannStateira. They THOUGHT they were close. It's just for a long time, they were all each other had. But once it was tested by more important things (like girls and life,) it was over.
It sucks how there are only Joey-Pacey fan vids. I liked the friendship between the two even though they couldnt stand each other at times they were always there for one another and Dawson was the first person that believed in pacey

Well, according to the last episodes of the show, they recognize that their friendship will never die 'cuz ot's too deep to let it die for a thing that happened to both when they were teens. I'll take advantadge of this post to say that their friendship was one of the best things I liked and I'm also proud about they become friends again in the end.
