  • haha, classic!

  • does anyone have the opening cue? i know we all have the closing theme, but i've never seen a clean copy of the opening theme..

  • I miss the 80's....

  • Two very good players here! This is how to play Scrabble! =)

  • Gotta love when the audience counts the money.... so 80's

  • There are 36 blue squares worth a total of $18,000 and 24 pink squares worth a total of $24,000 making it 60 bonus squares worth a total of $42,000.

  • I love Kathy's reaction when the second Z appears in PUZZLE. She thought it was a stopper.

  • She just got greedy!

  • INSTEAD OF DA CRAPPY GAME SHOWS DAT R PLAYED ON TV 2DAY, THEY NEED 2 BRINGS SHOWS LIKE DIS BACK ON DA AIR. MAN DO I MISS DA 80'S!!

  • is Jon fucking retarded?

  • has anyone notice how greedy Nancy was? okay, Nancy knew what the word was, knew that the letters she had were stoppers, and STILL manage to use one and get a stopper. Meanwhile jon(knowing what the word is) manage to get 1000$ on that word.

  • @jsutiger07 That was an extremely well calculated gamble, actually. 1. when a player takes tiles, they HAVE to use one, hence why she gave the "welp, I'm screwed" reaction. 2. the odds of nailing both of the two stoppers are lesser than just getting the $1000 letter.

  • there was a game show for this game?! That's so AWESOME!!!!!!!!! XD

  • Is it just me, or are there only like 3 actual game shows that ever existed....they just keep changing sets and hosts?

  • I was a contestant in 1986... lost the grand prize but won a lot of Shake and Bake!

How do I get a copy of the episodes I was in?

    Thanks!

  • @susiehoffy69 awesome! I watched this all the time growing up back then!

  • After Scrabble, Jon became a Contestant on the 1990 Revival of The Joker's Wild.

  • Nancy, you are very annyoying

  • @GoodMicWork I think she's cute!

  • Can't keep my eyes off Chuck's gold watch when he handles money :O Do want.

  • If you know the word from the start, would you just give the word and take the point (toward a bonus round for a possible $8K) or greedily pull and pull till you get double-stoppered trying to get $1K?

How'd your decision work out, Nancy?

  • Did he get 1000 lol

  • The logo at 0:29 with white blocks and black letters would've made a good overhead sign if they'd brought back "Scrabble" for another revival after the 1993 one.

  • I love scrabble. This was one of my favorite shows growing up.

  • @Sunburn2007 Scrabble was the game show of ALL game shows

  • @Sunburn2007 same here plus the game show fun house were my childhood shows i miss them lots :(

  • I'll admit, the 1993 revival of "Scrabble" wasn't all that great, but they should've brought it back for another season, if not more. And make some changes to make it more like this version.

    Such as:

Replaced those red neon lines that indicated stoppers with the original "stop-sign" stoppers, like with here

Turn the board "cube" around for the Sprint Round

    Increase the jackpot to $10,000

  • Damn they need to hand me some money like that

  • this is the greatest show ever

  • why isn't part 2 posted?

  • How is a sandwich a hero?

  • Ever heard of a hero sandwich?

  • I might have a long time ago, but I don't remember.

  • Yeah, i eat them all the time, it's a sub, basically

  • @Hondo20132 Nobody in Philly would know that because they call it a hoagie.

  • She seemed kinda arrogant, and you can tell she looked a little yeah......after he won.

  • this is one of the greatest game shows ever

  • shouldn't Captain America be the answer for the intro

  • For nearly 15 years now, I've been thinking. What if in the intro when the letters fly off like an explosion after the audience yells "SCRABBLE!", there's a sound of bowling pins being knocked down by a ball?

    Like this:

Charlie:It's the crossword game you've played all your life, but never quite like this.

    (Scrabble logo appears onscreen.)

    Audience:SCRABBLE!

(Scrabble logo breaks up with a sound effect of bowling pins being knocked down.)

Charlie:And here's your host, Chuck Woolery!

  • she pretty much gave away that game

  • Awesome upload!!! I miss this show!!

  • Thank you for the upload! Brought back memories!

  • It couldn't have been scripted after all those regulations brought in after the game show scandals of the 50's. I read about all that

  • @barryorange you've really pulled back the curtain

  • I should say, not the game itself, but this EPISODE seemed scripted....the female contestant just didn't seem to have the right luck at the right time... :(

  • This game seems a bit scripted...but still fun to watch.....if it wasn't scripted..talk about an unusual turn of events...

  • What Year & Month Did You Record This On USA Network ChuckR7? Was It 1993, 1994, Or 1995?

  • I never watched this when it aired on Nbc (mainly because I wasn't born yet,) but I deffinetly remember when it aired on USA! USA needs to bring back their afternoon game show block! That was one of the things that made that channel worth watching!

  • Laughter could have been it. Are you kidding?

  • I truly hope Scrabble comes to Game Show Network! I know their ratings would really go up!

  • not just scrabble all reg grundy game shows

  • Oh absolutely! From SOTC to even Time Machine, I would love to see them all.

  • Well, as long as they keep being greedy assholes, don't hold your breath.

  • Your right! If Freemantle would let Game Show Network air them, Freemantle would be making tons of dough! Even NBC with Concentration, would be making bank! In the economy, every little bit helps!

  • But do they care about that? No! All the douchbags care about is the money!

  • @mgsnv2 very true mgsn, For in these harsh economic times, even classic game show fans can find happiness if the big companies allow them to be seen on television networks such as GSN or perhaps another one, we get to relive our memories, and they get more money, EVERYONE WINS!!!!!!!!

  • I think this is from 1987, as by early 1988 Chuck was walking over to the contestant podium at the end of each front game.

  • It aired on USA from 9/16/91-10/13/95, and a revival aired on NBC from 1/18/93-6/11/93. This episode aired between December 29 1986-March 23 1990 when this Bonus Sprint format was in use
