Very cute doggie. I think he's very intelligent. After the first set of commands, he just jumped ahead to 'down' as the next logical step, without command. He's thinking ahead of you. He'll be cooking you breakfast in a year. But sooo cute.

He is an australian labradoodle, so they are bred multi-generation labradoodle to labradoodle. Typically, the size depends on the parent dogs, but he is considered a medium size labradoodle, he is 50 pounds.

Thanks!Well any dog can be trained not to bark, as you can see from my other video tricks part 2, you can teach them to bark as well.Dukie barks when someone comes to the house to warn us, but I like that so I never ask him not too.Sometimes he barks if we are playing but over all I think most house dogs do not bark alot. Labradoodle are very friendly and loving so they are pretty quite.But I must warn you they are active and like long walks and lots of play,if they do not get it they will rebel

labradoodles are very quiet and loyal except if you live near a cemetary (thats where i live) when people go in the cemetary they will bark. Those dogs are very territorial!

WOW you must be very exiting, baby proof your home because labradoodle babies will eat everything they see! Dukie did a number on my leather furniture. I would say when you first get one, do not think it is too early to train at 8 weeks, Dukie did sit, paw and stay by weeek 10 of his baby life. I can wait to see some pictures of you cutie! So exiting.

The potty training took about a week or two but I made sure to take him out every 2 hours and if he made on the carpet we would get very upset with him, never ever hit him but we did yell like crazy and should him what he did. You also have to catch them doing it, otherwise they have no clue why you are upset, we praised him when he made on the grass. The breeder told us to make a big deal and clap and kiss the dog when he makes on the grass. Dukie had a set back when he was 6 month old and made

they all have diffrent hair type, even Dukie's brothers and sisters were not all the same, most did have straighter hair. I am highly allerged to dander and dog hair so I had to get curly because that does not shed at all. Also both dukie's mom and dad were labradoodles. I actually love the once with straighter hair, they look so shaggy!

yup! I'm currently using treats to train him, and it's working out great. But I was wondering if you had trouble with walking Dukie on the leash at the start.

I was also wondering how long it took for Dukie to learn his name, did he recognize it as he got older?

I think he knew his name rather quickly. It may have taken just a day or two of me calling him Dukie. Walking on the leash is still not perfect. I use a harnest that I got in petsmart. Some people like the gentle leader that goes on the face. I had a trainer to aid me in teaching him to walk, she had me take a treat in my hand and if he walked next to me i had to give it to him. Also everytime he pulled i was told to stop and not move and then if he came back to my side treat i would treat him.

he learned very fast. He loves treats so that made it easy because he will do anything for them. He knew sit, stay and paw at about 12 weeks old. Yours is still a baby, if you give him treats he will learn, this breed is so smart and they want to please you and love you. Can't wait to see how yours looks!
