  • Rip megaupload links.

  • @Hateandhatred, crap. I'm going to re-upload the files somewhere else pretty soon (after I get the right ones together again, the one I used is full of other clutter). Probably mediafire.

  • i clicked on the link for your offline engine and its not working.. whats wrong?

  • This looks great but... FFR wont load after I open it up. A black screen with "Please be Patient" pops up and nothing happens after that. Or is it supposed to be like that? I get sporadic internet and I can't always access the web but I love FFR. Plz respond.

  • Can this engine record scores?? What I mean is if I were to log into FFR, would my scores transfer over to the site? Or is it strictly offline play..? Thanks!

  • @drowzydrumbum, the offline engine is called the offline engine for a reason. It obtains all of it's files locally, making it impossible for it to record scores.

I don't see why you'd want to record scores this way, you'd probably be better off with the current online engine anyway (or if it lags less for you, you could download something called a "flash standalone" and paste the link to the direct online engine swf to get the same offline engine lag reduction).

  • @foxfire667 I'm well aware of what the flash standalone is. I asked because this engine seems to be better than their current engines which are all just complete crap.

  • @drowzydrumbum, well there are probably online versions of the old engine laying around the net (I probably have a few of them myself actually). Unfortunately, due to Velocity's relocation of the levels, the usage of an older engine to play songs online (without fiddler, a lot of time, and downloading GB's of old levels) may be next to impossible.

  • can you create custom songs with this?? plz reply

  • @TheFGWvideos, this is just the engine to PLAY songs off of, so no. If you wish to create custom songs, try playing StepMania (stepmania(.com)). If you wish to make custom songs for FFR, use StepMania and follow my instructions through my other video: The Stepmania to FFR converter (SSFFRC: with link!)

  • @foxfire667, i know, i have stepmania its awesome, but i really want to creat custom songs with ffr, do you now some software that can create custom songs, i know you can creat custom songs, i just don't know what you have to do. oh ya, i tried your engine, it freezes, can you help me?

  • Or "Like" (no 5 strs)

  • @darasovci25, yeah sorry. Haven't exactly updated the annotations in a while, I will change that now.

  • so, i cant seem to find the level packs on megaupload...anywhere else i can find them? i tried to download other packs i found through google and put them in the "levels" folder, but it doesnt seem to work. is there something im doing wrong?

  • @InsertPotLeaf, you need to replace the t-xmlfeedbacktest.php with the one you most likely got with the levels download (otherwise the unlisted songs won't be added) or you can add the new songs individually to the php file. Of course, the levels should all be .swf's and be in the levels folder. Since hosting online engine FFR levels is a permaban offense currently, I don't list them anymore. Just use the offline engine for custom songs, this was really for FFR's crash in '09-10.

  • When I hit those arroows I just get boo signs lol, :( sadface I don't know what I'm doing wrong!! arghhh

  • lolol

  • foxfire, if you have "your own engine", did you decompile the .swf? If so, could I get the source code? My flash decompiler continues to crash whenever I attempt to decompile and I really want to pimp out this game lmao

  • @NightmarexFox, I think Velocity over at FlashFlashRevolution(.com) already "pimped it out" quite enough. He's made quite the insane additions and cleaned up most of the code (although all of that is via the online engine). I'd check that out if you haven't already!

  • In the beggining of this video whats that song?

  • @ToEFFinCrazy, it is Nebula, by She.

  • ty

  • I thought YOU were Velocity for a second lol. I wish I knew about the offline engine when the site was down, I wouldn't have been trash like I am now lol.

  • @BLACKanimebrother, yeah no I'm not him, but he and I did talk quite a lot while FFR was down.

Too bad you didn't know about StepMania either, I used that to really improve my skills for FFR until it's return.

  • @foxfire667 I played SM while it was down, but I was on and off. And by off I mean for months and months. Actually, I've been on and off these arrow games for years. Now is the most I have ever played, since December.... wait. Is this how the standalone players came to be? When I came back I had no idea what ppl were talking about haha

  • @BLACKanimebrother yeah I played Stepmania as well while FFR was down (that's how I was able to get a lot of my skill).

As for the flash standalone, they have been around for years, but have only recently been commonly discussed as normal practice for playing FFR. As for the FFR offline engine, the offline flash projection I have up for download has been around since at least 2009 or so, so I know playing offline wasn't completely unheard of at that time.

  • @foxfire667 can u use atuoplay?plz reply

  • @TheSkywalk321 im mean autoplay

  • @TheSkywalk321...like seeing a song be automatically played by an in-game engine bot? No FFR engine ever had that feature (save for a special velocity edition). I am afraid to throw it out for download considering it has no scoring restrictions and probably will give people some way to use it as an actual bot for the official website. FFR deals with enough of that crap as it is, last thing I want to do is give people another potential way to be 1337 h4x0r5

  • hello

  • right click on ffr.swf>open with>Macromedia flash player

    hope it helps :P

  • Can you add another genre? For example, I would like to make a new genre called "Custom"

  • @cheztheguy, you could mod it I guess...FFR is back up so just use Velocity's engine for that. You can add all of your favorite songs in the new favorites genre, if that is what you are getting at. For an offline "custom genre" you would need to do some serious decompiling / creating / coding / rebuilding...so it is probably out of the question.

  • oh shit your THE foxfire lol

  • Oh yeah, almost forgot is there joy pad support? Im hoping to get my dance mat working on it.

  • @Diamondsofmayhem, technically no, BUT I did make an AHK script for this particular request a while ago. It works perfectly for MY dance pad, but I am unsure how it will yield for other ones. It's a standard joy1-10 input, so it should function just fine for you as well. Would you like for me to host it so you can download it?

  • @foxfire667 nah, I got it covered,

joypad keyboard&mouse emulation seems to do the trick on my end.

using a hacked game stop universal dance pad. (added a USB connection from the Xbox plug)

  • @Diamondsofmayhem, awesome!

  • Downloading now,

Im sure I meet them, but, any word on the minimum system requirements?

  • Why is it so laggy?._.

  • @KeviiinLeLexD, because you have a bad computer most likely. Are you running a Vista...or a laptop? If not, do you have a bunch of applications open when playing?

  • @foxfire667 Ohh, Yeaahh

Is there a way to NOT make it laggy?

  • @KeviiinLeLexD, I suppose you could set your computer to run "best for processing" if you haven't done that already. Also, you can play it on low quality and be sure that it is the only application open while playing.

  • i love it tks man

  • @AgentSailor, no problem!

  • was the song you played single hand or spread?

  • @sylintknite, spread, although the skill I show in these videos are pretty crappy.

  • @foxfire667 oh lol i only play single hand 3 fingers its harder but i think its more fun and genuine

  • @sylintknite, it's probably tougher to control and much tougher to get good at. Genuine? If you play with your fingers in any manner it's genuine, it isn't like DDR or anything where you are supposed to use something other than your fingers to play the songs.

  • @foxfire667 if you want to see crappy skills, watch me try to beat vertex beta.I can't (NOT VROFL)

  • @Windows7n00b, I used to have a tough time on Vertex Beta myself when I first started last year, the streams can be pretty intense.

I say the skills I show in this vid are bad because...well, check out my FFR profile and you'll understand!

  • good deal,Looking foward to it. :D

  • Alrighty then,That sounds wonderfull to me. just let me know, ahhhh! i wana play on MP so bad, I'm crankin these song's on the offline version. It's sooo good xD Well, anyway thanks again man. (:

  • @Oakshisto18, no problem! MP isn't up just yet, but since pretty much everything else aside from the SM file database is functioning at this point I'm sure it's next on the list!

  • Woot!, just wanted to let you know, I followed the read me, and installed very easily. and now i am playing once again again the shutdown. I am very thankfull, cause i miss this game so much, although,i'm not on my guru level anymore i gotta work up. But, Its nice to play again i was playing this --> 6 key <-- FFR game for a while, its quite entertaining.

  • @Oakshisto18, glad to hear it! Although believe it or not, FFR has returned as of 10/9/10! It's not at 100% yet, but I'll keep you posted and probably make a couple announcements when it is!

  • how to add simfiles?

  • @yugiohfrancis, watch my other video which was annotated within this one.

"The Stepmania to FFR converter (SSFFRC: with link!)"

I should just make a playlist so I don't get questions on how to do things I cover in different videos.

  • you don't need a certain emulator to use it?

  • @ShabbyBurrito, of coarse not. FFR is a flash based game, meaning it runs through flash, which must be installed on your computer already to have watched this video. Using FFRZ.exe, all you'd need to do is double click and it will open (.exe because it is a flash image that loads through flash when opened).

  • @ShabbyBurrito i downloaded the last one, and it didnt work, then i tried the first one and it didnt work either -__-

  • @ShabbyBurrito, what do you mean "the last one?" Only one of the downloads for the offline engine even HAS the offline engine within it (FFR offline interface) which contains FFRZ.exe (which should open by double clicking) and ffr.swf (which will open if you drag and drop it into FFRZ.exe, or on certain computers, after you drag it...you double click ffr.swf). The only way it won't work is if you don't have the files in the correct folders that come with the download.

  • is there any way to play this game on a mac?

  • @limeLightMan I would assume mac's have .swf support, and if this is the case, yes you can. Go to the URL in my description (FFRlightdarkness) and play about 75% of the songs on what would be on here through that. That should help!

  • @Foxfire667. Is that cool techno song in the beginning menu a playable song? If it is what is it called and if it's not is there any way I can get it?

  • @yeaosh, it's not on FFR. Someone I know knew the name of the song, I'll try to get a hold of him and find out what it is again if you want to know.

  • @foxfire667 Yeah if you wouldn't mind. I can't get the song out of my head and I like it a lot more than the original intro song. It would be cool if someone could integrate it into the game though.

  • @yeaosh, Eurodancer by DJ Mangoo

It is a pretty catchy song, search around for it in StepMania, and if you find a decent step of it I can add it to the game. I'm already working on my own steps right now, so I really can't get into that at the moment.

  • Hey Fox, on Spontaneous Hydroxide it has a AAA thing on it. I opened up "t-achType.php" and it had the code for it, so I tried to add more to save my progress for FC's and AAA's but when you put another line of code it doesn't show up with anything. Please help.

  • @WyteBoi192, I didn't bother with this code until you mentioned it. It will take me a lot more than 500 characters to show you how to use it so I will reply by message.

  • Wow, that's really awesome! I wonder what happened to the old ffr?

  • @Kyon, thanks! Synth had some problems and eventually he had to shut the site down...and it hasn't returned, probably never will.

  • hi! there are two "t-xmlfeedbacktest" files, the one in FFRZ beta, and the one in FFRZ, which one do I paste it in? Or do I do both?

  • Foxfire, I'm getting an error when injecting the 1000+ folder file into the thing. It says the file is too large to put into the archive (WinRar). The onther two went in perfectly fine, but this one won't. Help?

  • Try WinZip, that should fix your problem, Get the 45 day free trial and it should extract just fine. If that doesn't work then post another comment, although it should, considering I made the .zip file with WinZip pro a while back.

  • im not sure if you alrdy answered this question, but is there something required besides whats in the vid for the songs to work? i downloaded all the levels i put them all in the level folder, but when i click on a song it gets stuck at 0%... please answer quick

  • @idrawbetterthanyouXD, It gets stuck at 0% usually because the song you request is not in the levels folder. Open FFRZ.exe by itself, and then click on the level "Terror from beyond." If this level loads click on the level "Magical 8-bit tour", if that loads then you are all set. If the first one loads and the second one doesn't., you didn't download ALL the levels. If neither load, your levels folder isn't in the proper location.

  • @foxfire667 in what categories are these songs?

  • hey, i downloaded the engine and all of the levels, i put them all in the level folder but whenever i try to load a song it gets stuck at 0%... >_> can you give me a solytion to this?

  • u ever think maby its time to get laid? lol nah im just joshin good job man :D

  • @undeadkennedys, thanks?

Also, obvious band reference is obvious.

  • @foxfire667 wich band refrence? o.o

  • @undeadkennedys *points to your user-name*

  • is that your monitor showing the black line waves.. or is that from the camera recording the monitor

  • Sorry if this was already asked, but whatever happened to the FFR site, anyway? Whenever I go there I'm presented by just a picture of what would be the site. I only found out that FFR was down about a month ago.

  • @Domination4eva, FFR crashed December 21st 2009 apparently due to a few things, but let's just say an incompetent synthlight. It was SUPPOSED to return June 18th, but it didn't, and I'm not sure it ever will.

  • @foxfire667 Awh =( , that's unfortunate. I really liked that game, hahaha.

  • @Domination4eva I think it was a friend of the owner that owes him $25,000 or was it $30,000? Eh, anyways, he shut it down because his friend or also an admin of ffr, owed him too much money and had an argument earlier december 2009, so he shut it down to cool off. It seems that they didn't put it back up because he was actually selling the website, that picture of ffr is the owner who bought ffr. And now since the old owner of ffr is too lazy to do all those things from scratch...

  • @echizen190 so he just uses foxfire's codes and upload them on to his bolg website (with his permission of course.)

  • I tried that website that was trying to bring back the game and none of the songs work. I mean you can play em but it doesnt let you hit any of the arrow things. Please messege me back when they fix it up. I'd rather not download something to my computer that I might get bored of in a week. Thanks dude :D

  • @VincentCarter0, read video description for answer to your problem.

  • @foxfire667 Yes, I already figured out my problem before you replied. Sorry for the waste of time i was. haha :D

  • @VincentCarter0, don't worry about it. Also, you weren't wasting my time at all, it wasn't any big deal.

  • thanks again man, you rock.

  • Thank you so much for this dude.

  • NomTazTik, no problem!

  • new problem i just came across im playing the beta and there are absolutely no songs showing up

  • @FFRrox has to be in the same folder as all the other files that come with it.

  • @foxfire667 tru well now i know but ive been having fun with the Offline Megapack anyways so that should keep me entertained for a while :)

  • I just downloaded the offline megapack for FFR but I can't drag my ffr.swf into my FFRZ.exe, and it doesn't work at all (My FFRZ.exe is just a blank sheet). Does this have something to do with my computer? (Macbook)

  • @WSCB987 yeah, it does. Mac computers are crap because they aern't compatible with .exe files, as well as many other frequently used windows file formats. No one that does anything with computers and programs ever really pays attention to mac, and neither did I. I'm surprised after over 1100+ downloads, that you are the first one that tried to download with a mac.

  • what was that song you played there at the beginning?

  • bradley77666, "Nebula [she]"

  • me loads the songs but if i press them right its wrong

  • swerdergers, what does that mean?

  • hey i have a problem....ok so i have the engine and levels 1-600 and i tried to play a song but it never loads to play...what do i do?

  • Ubertrick999, you need to download the rest of the levels. You can't play a song you don't have downloaded...

  • K...it's just i can PA the shit out of songs like Hardkore Atomik and easily do songs like Molto Vivace..which molto is the one where i really asked myself if i was just too good to have it register as an Avmiss Lol. But if you say the bug is there it's there, it's just no different for me, than usual FFR xD

  • Tarrik1337, the arrows are probably not close enough, or maybe it doesn't have the average miss glitch. All I know is that FFRZ.exe is from like at least 2 years ago, I was told about the average miss glitch being in it, and I've witnessed it myself. If you aern't getting any problems, then that's awesome!

  • Well it;s playing fine..In the FFRZ folder atleast now too .. but im still not avmissing :/ It's kinda confusing tbh. Unless i hit that on-time and everything it doesn't register the bug..i dunno. But i'm running FFRZ.exe right now, it's logged in as your username and all blah blah..it's version .791 X_X

  • Tarrik1337, huh? It does have the Average miss glitch, you are probably just hitting the arrows in a manner where you aern't in a situation that the average miss glitch is seen. You have to hit a (what would be a) perfect on an arrow, while another arrow is on the either average, or good frame of the same arrow...which will make you miss the top arrow and obtain either an average or good on the other one. They have to be REAL close though...and mashing will usually let you combo.

  • Question mate, you know how there is the avmiss version .. Well when i try to open it, it comes up with an authentication test failed, which means i don't have the right t-authenticate or whatever .. Do you have the right one? I seriously miss old school style, Lol.

  • Tarrik1337, I'm not sure how that could be...but if it is giving you problems...just copy the FFRZ.exe file into the FFRZ BETA folder...and run it there. If you can run your beta engine fine, the average miss engine is coded pretty much the same way.

  • THEY LIED TO US

  • So I downloaded the first levels set, and for some reason it won't let me drag them into the FFRZ Beta Folder. I'm not very savvy with computers, and I'm not sure what to do (Ie: Copy all the file and put them into a folder and add them that way, if that's even possible) and I'd prefer not to end up doing anything rediculously stupid and effing up my computer. Is there a way other than drag n drop to put the levels in the FFRZ Beta Folder?

  • FFRMANIAC, check your personal messages for the reply...as you also sent me the message that way, and I saw that one first.

  • aww bummer so its not one of the songs on ffr I guess that's lame oh well

  • richyg4789, no, but you could step it yourself on SM if you wanted to.

  • what the hell is the opening song been trying to find it for months lol

  • richyg4789, one of my other downloaders had that same question...I sure didn't know, but he found out that the song is: "Eurodancer" by DJ Mangoo

  • how do u know when its coming up..is there a site or something

  • benebab, tasselfoot[dot]com

  • so ur saying that i can play the game tomorrow without any downloads and such?

  • @sushithedog, not really. Their breaking their promises again.

  • @foxfire667

uhh...first they said that it was gonna be ready till christmas.. -_-

  • sushithedog, Christmas is too far from now. First they said June 18th...now they are saying within a few days...if they lie again...I'll probably add a thing or two soon to the engine(s)

  • @foxfire667 no no i mean there was some rumors that it was going to be ready by last christmas (obviously not..)

  • OMG I can't thank you enough for this new substitute site!!!! I'm actually almost about to cry from happiness, no joke. Thank you, you are so thoughtful and nice :)

    The songs are fantastic xD

  • luchownrj, no problem at all! I'm glad you like it!

Also, FFR is set to return June 18th!! Woo!!

  • @foxfire667 Can't wait ;D

  • @foxfire667 Yay :D. Can't wait. Thanks for the update. I love games like this <3

Do you know if it's to be run by Tass and them?

  • @foxfire667 Yay :D. Can't wait. Thanks for the update. I love games like this <3

Do you know if it's to be run by Tass and them?

  • Thanks for the help.

  • thank you SOOOO much, this works BEAUTIFULLY, ive been wanting something like this since the website is under construction. thanks again, YOUR THE MAN

  • Chemikill92, no problem! I'm glad you like the FFR offline engine!

Only a few more days until FFR's expected return!!

  • So I don't know how often this gets read, but what program would I have to have or use in order to read the rar file for the last like 9 songs? I was trying to get them in and they don't run with programs I have so I was wondering what I needed. Any help would be appreciated!

  • Ju5t1n4t0r, You could use any of the following programs:

    1) Winzip

    2) WinRAR

    3) The Extractor (Freeware)

  • @foxfire667 Thank you. I appreciate it. Not a bad program overall. I was looking at it, and how exactly would I combine all of them into one program? Referring to the offline megapack and whatnot. Is there a way to just move those songs in, or would I have to tamper with the t-xmlfeedbacktest file for the placements?

And one other smaller comment, is there a way to play the Beta file without having the Flash builder window open behind it? If I close that, it closes the beta too. Is there a way?

  • Ju5t1n4t0r, The combined song count is too large to support both in one setting. I had to cram songs for the offline engine, let alone both put together.

Refer to 2:05 annotations to ascertain play without the flash builder app. Once you do this, playing them separately won't be annoying anymore.

  • @foxfire667 Alright, for the second section of the first annotation, where is the "Create Projection" option?

  • Ju5t1n4t0r, the "Create Projection" option is in the FFRZ.exe file...you need to drag and drop ffr.swf into FFRZ.exe in order to create a projection of it.. I honestly wouldn't suggest making a projection unless you are willing to mess around with making new ones every once and a while...I would say the best thing you could do is tell your computer to open all .swf objects with "FFRZ.exe". You can find out how to do this in the annotations at 2:05

  • facebook.com/group.php?gid=117029415006834&v=wall

    Join the FFR Facebook

  • pudah657, I don't really like facebook. Although you can join myself and others at:

    wesmasharrowsgood[dot]com/forums/index[dot]php

Where I post scores, talk, and answer questions if need be.

  • NVM, figured it out

  • How exactly do you put in a hyper speed or whatever? and then set speed?

  • admiralquode, Click "settings" in game, and select the value you want. For lightdarkness, do the same thing, only type in a speed (such as 1.25, 1.50, etc) and click on "set speed".

  • that website doesn't work. It doesn't detect my keys. :C

    HELP? ;U;

  • wondera, as stated in the video description, you must set your speed before trying to play a song in order for the game to respond to your arrow presses. If you played on hyperspeed, set your speed to it, and you should be fine. If you played 1.0, set it to 1.25, and then set it again to 1.0 and it will work just fine!

  • okay, i have read all of the comments on this video, i have rewatched teh video. and i swear i am trying.. the arrows will not .. click....

  • and now i don't know if that last comment posted lol.

  • I hate to be a bother i'm sure you;'ve been asked this a lot. but it does not read when i hit the arrows on time, but reads it if i hit the arrows not on time.. but all in all i really like the look and feel

  • Scoztaxx, that is very interesting. I have yet to have this problem on the offline engine. I would suggest trying two things:

    1) Opening ffr.swf with flash.exe (even though it takes forever...)

    2) Set ffr.swf to be opened by FFRZ.exe in the "open with..." settings for all .swf objects.

If either one work to solve your problem...continue to play FFR that way. If it still persists, send another comment!

  • i wonder whats taking them so long to get the original website up

  • pandaemon00, if they are ever going to put it up again...probably money.

  • next time play a harder song like bottom page dance 2 shit jk lol thanks for the video and download links

  • pandaemon00, I could have, but I just picked a short fun song I liked at the time, probably should have played at least a D11.

Anyway no problem! I'm glad you like the offline engine!

  • um, i cant seem to find the ffr.swf...can someone help me?

or is there something else i need to do?

  • tj21t21t2, that is impossible. You need to download the "FFR offline interface". Once you saved that, you need to download the levels and put them in the levels folder of either the "FFRZ" or the "FFRZ BETA" folders. After that, you can use the FFR engine that you put the levels in (preferably FFRZ BETA), and drag FFR.swf into FFRZ.exe (from the FFRZ folder), and it will open just fine!

  • Thanks so much :)

  • miniclip4456, sure thing! I'm glad you like the engine!

  • that web site u posted it doesn't register the keys i press whats up with that?

  • N00Player69, I go over that in the video description, you must set a hyperspeed amount and hit "set speed" before any keys can be registered. Why this is I still don't know, but you only have to do it once per browser on a computer anyway...so no big deal.

  • @foxfire667 oh okay does it say a certain number or is it different for everyone?

  • @N00Player69, if you never changed it, it should be at 1, set it to something higher or lower, whatever you played with before FFR went down. If you never played before, try 1x, but in order to play on 1x, you have to set it to a different speed, and then set it BACK to 1 (it doesn't matter what speed, just pick something like 1.10, and then set it back.) You still only have to do this once per browser per computer.

  • @foxfire667 alright thanks a million man i'm mad addicted to the game already

  • N00Player69, sure thing! I'm glad you are enjoying the game!

  • It sounded like you read a script, lol. It's fine though. Thanks!

  • Mahjix, that's because I did. I'd rather it sound bland and read out then having it sound like I don't have my facts straight. I'll work on making it sound less like reading off a script though.

Sure thing! I hope you like the FFR offline engine!

  • You're an idiot. You simply rereleased the engine/database I leaked in January (which I regret) and now you're taking credit as some bigshot. I pulled my links and poisoned my torrent due to a personal request from a certain share holder (yeah, synth gave people with partial rights).

What makes you a total dumbfuck is the fact that you did absolutely nothing to the database and engine I supplied (even the SA CS3 client). You're a script kiddie. Fuck you; stop distributing and being a "savior".

  • FuzedBox, I understand I used your offline database, what you don't understand is that I've been doing code and making mods for FFR for about 7 months, and originally had another FFR offline engine (which also comes with said download), that I was going to host the video with, but I wanted to find an engine that did not have the average miss glitch, and yours was it. I even say in the video the FFR beta engine was derived from someone else (you apparently), and take no credit. (continued)

  • FuzedBox, you also have to understand that your FFR beta engine was missing levels, and was also lacking SERIOUS song code I ALREADY ENGINEERED OVER 6 MONTHS AGO for the online engine for all of the levels in the game. You had nearly 500 songs from the disabled genre that were completely useless without my code implementation, and as well the addition of the more recent FFR levels (such as the "Newvember" bunch).<
