I like that green wooden handle. Did you make that because the original nylon handle broke? I hear that handle breakage is quite common with SOG hawks. I've got a FastHawk myself and am worried mine will break too

I can't see any serious real-world application for this unless you're one of those guys who walks around the mall in tactical gear. In which case, it's basically a toy for adult males with arrested development.

#1 IF you are such an outdoorsman HOW in the world can you not see the value of a 1 1/2 lb, 15" axe in your pack? I have carried one for years, in conjunction with a good knife and survival saw, and cannot tell you the number of times I have turned to this tool. #2 I also carry one in my "get home bag" in my car. The Tomahawk is an exceptional entry/exit tool, defensive tool, etc.

Also, of course an axe is invaluable if you're processing WOOD (not bad guys, or hacking yourself out of a burning skyscraper whilst under fire). But one with such a light, skeletonized head? How do you get enough momentum behind a swing to do anything worthwhile to standing deadwood?

Also, the pick-end of the tomahawk is just dangerous to yourself. And if you're hundreds km away from help & using your axe a lot, it's just a terrible idea.

Let's start the list. #1 Last winter I used my axe in the middle of nowhere to chop up dead wood and saplings to make a "gator back" to drive my car out of a ditch during a state wide emergency ice strom. #2 8 Years ago, when lost when hiking in WV I used a small axe like this to gain entry to an old, abandoned building to weather out the night.

#3 Less dramatically, I have used this small axe every single summer to free my boat ropes from fallen tree branches, gather firewood, dig firepits, etc. You know, camping stuff. Lastly, you must live in total peace and harmony and nothing bad happens around you like say, hurricanes, civil unrest, tornados, riots. You're right, it never happens (New Orleans, Florida every frikken hurricane, etc)
