  • I love this movie so much it makes me want to cry! Tears of happiness and witnessing true genius and awesomeness!

  • Loved this film as a kid, but when it came to this scene, I always had a problem.

Before they drove off the cliff, Jeremy and Jamima where wearing hats (paperboy hat and straw hat), and when they're flying off the cliff the hats are gone (understandable, because of the speed they were going and all that scientific stuff)... but Truly's hat stays on, and the shawl never moves.

    Hhhhmmm...

  • Back in my day, kids could stand in the back seat of flying cars. None of these fancy seat belts, airbags or roof were needed!

  • Am I the only one who thinks this sounds slightly fascist....?

Despite that, still my fave kid's film

  • Got this film on DVD because some British girl said she loved it as a child and gave it to us.

  • Intermission

  • haha... xDDD

  • Which pixel was Truly ?

  • i had a ride in the car what recantly sold in los angeles it used to belong in the uk and i am a huge fan and wen it came to town were we live i just had to have a ride in it :P

  • I saw recently that the car still exists intact, and was auctioned off for a very tidy sum. It was in Los Angeles.

  • It's a shame that didn't happen to that couple who drove off a cliff in the isle of white.

  • A very beautiful car. I hope that Polar Lights or Mobius decides to reissue the old Aurora model kit. I missed my chance the first time.

  • nice greenscreen effects :)

  • my all time favorite movie!! sooooo many memories from my childhood!

  • They just made homage to this in the last scene of a American Dad Episode tonight. The Jeff the stoner hippie Hayley is with turns his van into chitty chitty bang bang. I laughed my ass off.

  • @rushthezeppelin same reason i decided to watch this clip haha

  • @rushthezeppelin i came here just because of the "american dad" episode

  • @rushthezeppelin I watched it last Friday when my little brother mentioned it, and when I saw for myself, I... well... I kind of made a bit of a fanboy scream. XD Either way, I guess it shows that Seth MacFarlane is a true blue CCBB fan. :)

  • Thumbs up if your here cuz of Ace Venture 2 :D

  • Now I know what will be my next car :))))

  • reminds me of my car :)))

    regards from Israel

  • Why is everyone brittish but Dick Van Dyke? His accent in Mary Poppins wasn't THAT bad.....

    Plus, I want that car!!!!!

  • This song reminds me so much of my childhood :)

  • i used to fcking luvz dis movie as a kid

  • I have a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Car Toy...I love it!! I used to play with it during all my childhood...I was the happiest child without Wii, Xbox or Playstation...

  • I think "Chitty Bang Bang" was one of the best movies ever made....and Dick Van Dyke was one of the best all time actor and comedian being up there with Charlie Chaplin and Jerry Lewis !

  • I remember loving this as a kid. Now it just seems so corny. But I can see why it appeals to kids.

  • Shitty Shitty Bang Bang

  • @Jokerie3

    See Jokerie3 gets it

  • The flying scenes were fucking awful.

  • It's the future of NFS.

  • I'll assume he knew it could fly, otherwise he wouldn't have drove it off a cliff!

  • @coldfarted Yes...Corgi made some accurate special cool cars with details. Today these are high value.Chitty-Chitty is the only 'film-car' that I got in my collection where ther' are mostly cars of the 50/60/70...

  • I've got the original model of this car by Corgi Toys 1968...excellent conditions, with characters.

  • @tusbluftusbl1 My brother has that one too.. I got a reproduction a few years back and it doesn't have half the detail of the original.

  • @coldfarted The orginal Corgi Toys model that I got is really full of details and in excellent conditions; its worth is about Euro 400 with original box, but I have not the box.

  • shitty shitty fag fag, shitty shitty fag fag, howd'ya do?

  • I like how they're not freezing their tails off going through the wet clouds. This really is a wonderful children's film.

  • This actually made me tear up; it's is my childhood.:) I fell in love with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when I was a little girl and I always thought it was the most magical thing in the world. I loved it so dearly that I asked for it every Christmas but never got it. Then, a couple years ago my wish finally came true and I received the special 2-disc DVD edition of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which came in a beautiful golden cover. I will forever love this movie. :)

  • I want that car!!

  • Chitty's always gonna be there to save the day. Because she's a true genie. I know this is gonna sound corny, but Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was one of my first true super heroes!! I mean, she could do ANYTHING!!

  • @aramax1001 I'm with you on that!

  • @gazaguy me to!

  • @aramax1001 Chitty the Super Car :) I always loved that car :)

  • @aramax1001

I agree. Loved this movie growing-up and still love it at 47! There was just something really cool about this movie and the music was excellent too!

  • What, no seat belts?

  • @YTRulesFromNM or airbags!

  • @gazaguy they didnt have airbag these days

  • @YTRulesFromNM but I'm sure Chitty was equipped with emergency parachutes

  • @gazaguy the power of German engineering.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=eouwewHi-OY

a funny great parody of the flying car scene

  • SHIT SPOILER !!!! WARNING

  • The flying scenes were fucking awful, even for 1967.

  • CCBB Rules!!!! Great movie!!!

  • A great 1968 movie!

  • When you can't get the batmobile, chitty chitty bang bang is the next best thing.

  • What are those famous mountains infront of the ocean called? ive seen them in many films

  • @tunderhed The castle is Neuschwanstein in the Bavarian Alps of southern Germany

  • when i was a kid, this looked so real. lol

  • @organfleisch Still does to me, and I first saw the film in the theatres as a kid in 1969!

  • @gazaguy damn, you must be like 45 years old or so! my parents showed me this movie when I was 4 years old, that was in 1999.

  • @organfleisch That's because it IS real! lol

  • @Im18nowletmewatch haha. thanks for clearing that up???

  • this is highly illogical, cars can't fly!

  • future silver cars?battle ships?wars?porn?sex? NOOOOOOOOO WE WANT MOVIES LIKE THIS !!!!!!!! NOW!!!!!! STOP WITH DA PORN!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I loved the movie,

the thought of a car that floats on water & even flies is enough to keep a litte boy's attention during one Saturday afternoon while watching this on the VCR, but just one there I could not stand.

    Because the movie was

long enough for an intermission(this was made before the pause button was created for the remote control) the intermission popped up as the car goes over the cliff!

    To me that's bad timing!

  • i like i the german version of this movie, shitty shitty gang bang!

  • am i still dreaming?

  • I wish I had a flying car....:(

  • It's not as shocking as you would think. The technology has been around for a while, "The blue screen and traveling matte method were developed in the 1930s" (wiki) Even 3D is really old. "The earliest confirmed 3-D film shown to a paying audience was The Power of Love... on September 27, 1922." (wiki) You would be amazed if you looked at film history when things were developed.

  • Love this movie!!

  • diz used 2b my stuff rite here n d 3rd grade

  • I thought I spelled it right I never said I was perfect

  • its my favorate allways has been allways will be and im 46

  • You're 46 and can't spell always?

  • That's the white cliffs around Eastbourne, Sussex. Beachy Head.

  • its the isle of white, they are flying to the needles.

  • I don`t know...the man is Dick Van Die?

  • Dick van Dyke

  • Don't have to be queer to watch these it's a bit of escapism i will sit and watch a musical with my wife she loves them i also get to watch kids films with the kids and then i have my time and watch crime and action adventure films.

  • i love this movie! one of the best movies ever!

  • No one asked you for your opinion. If you have a problem with it then that is ur fault not mine. So y don't u just keep your mouth shut and go hide under a rock. The last time i saw this movie i was 5 so i only like what i remeber of it. so how bout before u go acusing ppl and stuff u get ur facts and story straight first.

  • haha

  • 大阪梅田のOS劇場で観たが、崖から落ちるシーンで「休憩」になった。

    昔の映画は、上映時間の長い作品だと途中で休憩があったのです。

  • Oh thank you!

I idnt have the metal car, I put together the plastic model, spent hours painting "just so"

man, I love this movie, and have been so saddened that the DVD release wasnt in widescreen format, they should give Chitty some respect!

(And the orignal book, is completely different, but absolutly delightful

    thanks so much

  • Its a bird!

  • It's more than spectacular! To use the vernacular, it's wizard! It's smashing! It's keen!

  • im younger than you (24) but i still get shivvers up my spine as she plummits off the cliff then i she unfurls her wings and takes off!. just brilliant! :D. I have the plastic corgi toy, and the large scale model, pining for the small metal corgi one :).

  • @wolfofthewhitemt i found a replica @ amazon.com/Chitty-Bang-Electro-Plated-Replica/dp/B000HA2CYA

  • The same composers made the music for this film, Mary Poppins, AND Bedknobs and Broomsticks - The Sherman Brothers (Richard and Robert Sherman) and Irwin Kostal.

The father from this film (Dick Van Dyke) is also in Mary Poppins, and the father in Mary Poppins is also in the film Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

    cool huh?

  • Correct on all accounts!

Because of the Disney style, many people think of it as a Dsiney film and not an MGM film as it was.

  • this isnt disney

  • my friend has nitemarrs of this and he is16

  • :) I am not at all surprised! I think the Child Catcher is the scariest character in motion picture history.... Even the "wicked" Witch of the West was mild in comparison because she was just trying to get back what was rightfully hers (the slippers stolen by Dorothy and Glinda from her sister's dead body. The Child Catcher, on the other hand is predatory and malicious!!

  • @gazaguy the wizard of gold ounce (oz.)

  • My all time favourite. When I saw it at the cinema there was an interval, just as the car went over the cliff. We all ate our ice creams in wide-eyed suspense - would chitty fly???

    Those were the days.

  • I saw it for the first time on the big screen in 1969 and got the cast metal toy car of Chitty for Christmas that year :) Oh, how I know what you mean about the intermission suspense!! Thanks for posting.

  • i actually like this movie! i mean, it's not the best movie but it's good. at first i thought this wuz a disney movie but it's not lol!

  • Once I had borrowed this movie and saw it thirteen times before returning it and I was about 40 yrs old at that time! Thanks.

  • Wat the hell!?!?!?

  • Interesting response. I'm afraid it's just not that complex or mysterious. It's called a movie.
