Just the simple fact that ALL of REO's albums (since Richrath left) have FAILED to even chart prooves that Gary Richrath could weave horse sh*t into gold! Kicking Gary out was the worst thing Cronin could have done.
I'd recommend checking out this video of Dave Koz with Dana Glover. They will be performing it this Sunday (10/24) on Desperate Housewives. youtube.com/watch?v=6a1_Y1SugEs
Every one of you fucking suck for trashing such a brilliant musician.. Let me guess>> You are younger than 35'ish?>> Yeah your music is make believe.. Cronin is the real thing. This man needs no synthesizers..no drums no bullshit. Pure talent. All you haters? Go to hell!
what exactly did Kevin do to gary? I suppose you know the back story on gary leaving the band? i suppose Kevin is also responsible for the origanal bass player and drummer... man oh man are you funny
UUUmm, this is a one hundred percent thourough ripoff of Moondance by Van Morrison. I mean there is not even a token chord change to disguise it. Pathetic.
ummm, the last I checked, Gary is NOWHERE to be seen! It's not like he's doing interviews lamenting the day he ever met Kevin! Though I think it's crap that Gary got Kevin his gig only to have Kevin kick him out of the damn band! I bet Kevin's happy, though. He's been able to soften REO down to an unrecognizable, light rock outfit!
Boy, All the love for Richrath and you would think he was one of the best guitartist in the world. Richrath was good, but get real. What has he done since being kicked out of the band? Nothing. If he was half as good as some of the people believe he was, he'd be in some superband somewhere instead of moping around thinking Cronin, Daughty, and Hall screwed him over. Get over it Gary.

Gary was and is a great guitarist. From my understanding he had some personal demons he could not control which contributed to him leaving the band. I think the jazz version of this was very good. I have been a fan for over 25 years and will always be. The new album is great!
What's next? Rod Evans with a reggae version of Smoke On The Water? I don't remember Cronin even singing this song on the studio album. I would rather hear an instrumental version Played by Gary on the tuba.
some of the best music I've heard in quite awhile. Makes me think of soft lite club and just sitting back, eyes closed and "taking the jazzy music in". Great duo! Love to hear more KOZ too.
@GotMotiv8tion you are so ignorant... maybe you should see how much better dave is than Gary... Gary literally kicked himself out because of the shit he was doing to himself.. Gary was a mess.. getting rid of him was the best move they ever made... he was still talented but he was a train-wreck taking everyone down with him... if he was the only thing REO had why is he not big solo..? most people dont even know of his solo work.. Do some background checks first dumbass
@GotMotiv8tion i disagree a lot actually.. yeah gary was good but honestly all around better people have now taken the place of those before them. better players, people, and better creatively. Gary ruined it for himself. he clearly had more care for himself than the band. Find your own way home without gary is like Hi Infidelity all over again. sorry
I have been a REO fan for over 20 and this is a definite fave of mine. I love it when artists do old songs in new ways to show what really good musicians they are. Way to go KC!!!!
Better than the original, Kronin should do an entire Album like this.

I agree.
I kept waiting for him to start singing "Well, its a marvelous night for a moondance..."
But to come in with different lyrics? Change your chords, man! Make it less obvious.

Actually it is a shame what this man did to a great guitarist and song writer in Gary Richrath with his egotistical BS.
Long live Gary and his incredible guitar playing. Cronin's crapy wimp songs would never have been a hit without Gary's guitar.

@GotMotiv8tion they could always find a good guitar player to replace Gary

very cool. I agree it is nice to see KC have the talent to turn a true guitar rock song into a nice smooth jazz number.
Granted I prefer the rock version but this is cool

It is so refreshing to see an artist do something completely different from the more traditional version of a tune. Well done indeed.
