  • @windingo77 Have you even read the Book of Mormon? Or are you just reading false information about it and our true church?

  • @32kyle4 that person hasn't im pretty sure no one can read the entire book and call it bad, they are being ignorant their, no bother in argueing with them, cs lewis said that the persons who are the hardest to convert are the ones who think they have the truth, this person thinks they have the truth, let it be, its sad that they wont be as happy as us, but thats their deal, they'll find out when they die

  • @Mrjony251 On the contrary, it is you that believes he has the truth. I am merely not so quick to settle my curiosity with explanations devised entirely by men's imaginations. I do not know many things, but I am honest enough to admit it, while you are so arrogantly assert to 'know' things of which you do not.

  • @windigo77 my mind is open, Im always open, I am a convert to the church, and it has changed my life and brought many good things to my life so for me it is good, regardless of what you think, I still respect you, I have friends like you and even though I am a mormon and you are anti, me and you are both still human, I apologize for causing contentions and hope we can be friends, even though we do not think the same you are still my brother.

  • @32kyle4 Yes, I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times. I was raised in a Mormon family that was invested enough to have the entire set of the Journal of Discourses as well, a volume of work praised by the church in it's time, but now an embarrassing smear on the church's name they are so quick to discard. It's a shame really, it's an interesting read, but it certainly does expose the church's imaginative but erroneous origin.

  • listen to the source that brings joy and happiness not misery and contention

  • @Mrjony251 So, avoid religion right? After all, it's not the atheists that are telling gays they are abominations and pushing them to commit suicide - that's not very joyful is it?

  • @windigo77 wow, im sorry to know you know nothing about religion not one bit at all, you make assumptions which is a bunch of BS (before science) if your into science shouldn't you evaluate the evidence the bible the book of mormon and all that info. and discredit it yourself? isn't science made to prove things wrong so they can improve it? well sir sorry but people exactly like you are in the book of mormon maybe if you read you could identify what kind of person you are in that book

  • @Mrjony251 I'm sorry, but I'm certain I know more about religion than you do, you appear in the words of Christopher Hitchins, to be somebody who has never listened to the arguments against your position at all. Your 'Book of Mormon' describes wars with steel weapons and horses. Steel wasn't invented until after the first millenia >1000 AD and horses did not exist in North America, the species (yes a different species) that did went extinct with the mammoths and were too small to ride.

  • @Mrjony251 A blatantly historically inaccurate book written by a man claiming that it was divinely inspired would not contain blatant historical errors of this kind. Joseph Smith comes off as historically uneducated and overtly-emotionally manipulative. I have evaluated all that I can find in regards to the evidence of both scriptures and found nothing but problems. Please read one of the many articles on wikipedia on the errors in Mormonism, and the scriptures and the apologetics are laughable.

  • @windigo77 ha it never mentions horses it says a kind of horse, funny how they twist things around and you only listen to things that benefit you, but whatever I should of never argued with someone like you Im sorry you are not happy and the only thing on your mind to dash peoples hopes, it kind of sucks after you die you will just rot in your grave? well if that makes you happy thats cool but the Lord brings me happiness and joy no item or thing could ever bring, Peace, much love

  • I am pretty sure the person who made this video is anti, this video is horrible it made me feel all sad and down, then I was like why should it? Jesus is our Savior and our Heavenly Father exists and this I know, so I took the time to research things and the statements in the video are twisted and turned, Whoever watches this video, why would you ever turn away from something that brings so much joy and happiness and let all the evils in the world take place in your heart instead

  • @Mrjony251 Religion is an 'evil in the world'. Why would you let a religion that has historically known to be a racist organization. One that pits men against men in arrogance as to what happens after people die? Why can't people abandon superstition and just live without the need to make up nonsense based entirely on emotion. Emotion leads to irrationality, and irrationality leads to violence. Faith is a tool for violence, and only a fool would put his faith in faith.

  • This is glorious. Feels so good to hear someone else has the found the same inconsistencies that I have found. I'm not crazy after all.

  • Hit ghurts hoemw many people out there dont know the truth of the church....i dare all of you to read the book of morman and ponder what it is trying to tell you!!!you will surely have a change pf heart...and if you dont i DONT WANT TO HEAR IT!!!!

  • @starstyle423 I know, most Mormons don't know the truth about their church. All it took for me was to read the book of mormon, and I immediately threw it away as hogwash. You may not want to hear it, but that's because you are close minded and hold an indefensible position - you can't defend your beliefs, so you decide to silence them - either internally or externally. A closed mind is a useless mind.

  • @windigo77 ha a close mind is a useless mind, your right a closed mind to the truth is useless, it has become obvious you are not happy so you try to destroy others peoples happiness, for whatever your reasons I feel awful your full of hatred maybe if you were to meet me or one of these fine people you would change your opinion about things but you wouldnt bother cuz you are close minded, love you now I will no longer continue to content you have proven my point sorry for contention

  • @Mrjony251 A closed mind is a mind that has decided to believe a particular explanation and is unwilling to question it. I am more than willing to question, but I am not quick to believe. I do not hate, I comment as an act of love towards anybody trapped in the Mormon mentality because I see so many wasting their lives, content with mythical explanations when there are real explanations to be discovered. I spend my time here for the likes of you, in hopes that you will open your mind.

  • I have often wondered why so many people try and sway people away from the church of jesus Christ of latter day saints and the conclusion is that is because it must be the true church. Why else would Satan try so hard.

  • @MrTirmenator I often wonder why people don't tend to steal from other people. It must be that stealing is that God want's people to do, otherwise why would people refrain from doing it?

  • @windigo77 did you take dna tests? did you prove no one in north central or south america is a descendant from isreal? your going off others peoples words, and I have acknowledged there have been changes in the Church, but that does not bring down my testimony, because I know God exists I know Jesus Christ died for my sins, and that is something I have found out for myself.

  • @Mrjony251 You don't know actually, you are lying when you say that - you may believe, but you do not know. It shows that instantly that somebody is lying when they arrogantly assert to 'know' things that they do not. Humble yourself, there are things you do not know, the existence of a God including. Arrogance in regards to the existence of deities is dishonesty. If you know these things, then you should have no problem presenting evidence for them. Please do so.

  • @windigo77 oh how i wish i could show you, but even if it were shown to you, you wouldn't believe it you wouldn't have faith signs dont cause you to believe. You can call me a liar you can say i make things up but why would I? why would I lie to you ? there would be no point in that, if you had faith you could find out for yourself, you are carnal minded person and i feel so sorry for you I just wish you knew what i Knew and took the time to find things out for yourself

  • @Mrjony251 What gives you the right to make assumptions about the kind of person I am? Do you know me? No. Your accusations are false, I am LESS carnal minded that the typical religious person who doesn't understand the nature of evidence and why 'faith' is no basis for determining reality. Nobody has ever made a scientific discovery as a result of 'faith' have they? No, all scientific progress has been achieved through observation evidence and experiment. Faith is a useless and often immoral.

  • @Mrjony251 People who have 'faith' crash airplanes into world trade centers. People who have 'faith' ruin the lives of other people who do not share their standards and perspective. People with 'faith' push violent, superstitious, sexist and violent regimes such as the Taliban. Faith is dangerous, because it is blind. It is people running on emotion instead of using their heads.

  • @Mrjony251 Did you build the computer you are sitting at? No? Then how can you be sitting on it? I understand the scientific method, and do not need to personally do the tests. It is written in the bible, any church that changes it's teachings is a false church. You believe in the bible, and you admit that the church has changed it's teachings, thus you must admit that your church is false.

  • @windigo77 also man I know how you feel I used to feel like you and get so mad at the missionaries when they would come knocking to my house I kinda thought their was a God but didn't know or care to know, til my life went into a bad direction, so they came and preached but I still didn't like it but when I was down, I picked up their book and it made me feel good, I cant show you these things but you can find 4 yourself, if you want to read alma chapter 32 man it tells you how to find out

  • People don't just leave the church overnight, they leave because they aren't even really mormon, ya they are baptized but they are not active, and the ones that do leave are because they dont read their scriptures and they are not growing in Christ, and thats to bad:(

  • @Mrjony251 Sadly you are mistaken. I left the church after having read the entirety of the Book of Mormon. Considering how poorly most religious people do on religious tests compared to Atheists, it seems that you have that 100% backwards. People who know more about religion, are less religious. This is a statistical fact.

  • I basically liked first fifty minutes of your video. Once I found out the truth it was over for me! For you to say that you can know the truth and still stay in on your own terms, to me, is LIVING A LIE! I think there are a lot of people that do that very thing.. Not cool to me!

  • Grace and Joy through Jesus!

  • Amazing, that is truth right there. I tell people all of the time that the Church (LDS church) is more or less a government which is flawed cuz humans organize it. 'good' is what i strive for and I haven't seen any evidence that the church is not fundamentally 'good'. Thanks for the video.

  • @bradleylax22 here is some evidence - is lying good? well the book of mormon says horses existed in north america, but we have documented evidence AND biological evidence that all the horses on north america came from europe when columbus introduced them... so, since the LDS church is lying, it's not good.

  • @windigo77 seems like you have alot of faith to, you have faith that the church is not true, but then you criticize others for having faith, and you hate on them because they are happy and in fact we are so happy, that we don't go around destroying other peoples happiness

  • @Mrjony251 seems like you have a lot of faith that there isn't a floating teapot orbiting mars. I don't think Mormonism isn't true, I know it isn't true because there is DNA evidence that shows it to be false. The church had to shift it's positions on many things over the years, but it was in vain, because you can't change history, and Mormonism is historically errant. People who are on Heroine are happy too, religion is the opiate of the masses, and it is intellectually dangerous to everybody.

  • @Mrjony251 You can find greater happiness outside of the confines and intellectual masturbation of religion. Considering the amount of Mormon's on anti-depressants, it doesn't seem like you guys are all that happy... I mean, you can try and convince yourself that you are, but statistically speaking, religion is emotionally/sexually/physiologically unhealthy. The healthiest nations in the world are tend to be Atheistic. Open your mind and enjoy the benefits of a rational society.

  • Mormon details 35 minutes of lies, inconstancies, and historical falsehood perpetrated by the Mormon church. Then says, NONE of this disproved the church? Wow.... I feel sorry for him and all that follow this cult.

  • To all those who say the church isn't true, I ask of you one question. Why do you need to prove it wrong? Maybe you were LDS before and you say" it wasn't for me". Why do you find it necessary to pull someone beliefs apart. I personally find it perfectly fine to share what you believe, but who gave you the right to tell others that what they believe is lies. I have traveled from everything from agnostic to Buddhism and have found a church that I know is true. I may be young, but religion is one

  • @Fashionandballet

We find it necessary to pull someone's false beliefs apart. Why? because Mormonism preaches a (different) gospel that doesn't save. It's about doing the work of the Lord to lead people to the saving gospel. What it isn't is a contest. If that's all it was, I wouldn't waste my time. The truth isn't for everyone, and plenty of ex-Mormons who now follow the saving gospel are glad these efforts are made.

  • @Fashionandballet I don't think people necessarily try to prove it wrong, they simply want to express what and how they've discovered a new way of looking at things. In doing so they're treated in a way that seems unchristian to them, provoking hostility. I think it comes down to a break in communication where both parties are not speaking the same language.

I was impressed with the video and I believe it perambulated tactfully though difficult to express ideas.

  • @Fashionandballet To start, you don't know that it's true. Second, deceit should be overturned no matter the cause. What Mormon's believe IS definitively lies, anybody with an iota of understanding of the history of the church can attest to that. Try living an honest life, one without the arrogant asserting of knowledge, and try the humble admission of uncertainty. It might do your soul good. (btw, that is basically the atheist position)

  • @Fashionandballet The fact that their beliefs are lies are all the justification that I need. It would be immoral for me to know that something is a lie and let everybody continue believing it despite it. If somebody managed to convince everybody that they could fly if they jumped off this cliff, but I had evidence that showed he was lying... would it be okay for me to just sit back and watch thousands of people kill themselves? Exactly.

  • @Fashionandballet If you have so much faith in your religion, why is it so easy to tear apart? And if your religion gets torn apart, then you should STOP believing it. If you continue to believe it because it's what you are accustom to, then you are simply being lazy. People stop believing in things when those things are proven to be false... Mormonism has been proven false.. so what's your problem?

  • So that's why you interviewed McCraney. You wanted to 'hear' his logic so you could 'understand' why people leave the LDS church, all while still keeping facts on the back burner in your brain. You wanted to be the crusader who supposedly had the answer as to why people are leaving. Your videos I'm sure cater to those who still 'want to believe', but those who are after facts, will find their answers somewhere else.

  • @truthseeker1973 This man is honest and loves the mormon church. My mother listens to him frequently and still goes to church and the temple..... If this guy wants to stay in the mormon church I respect him for that. But what I respect him most for is that he is honest and looks at the facts and not blindly and aimlessly believe and follow anything those men in suits tell people.

  • @2wives1prophet

I can tell he is a nice man, and probably honest as much as people can be. The problem is if he WANTS to believe in Mormonism, he will only see what confirms what he wants to believe, and it's just THAT what he extracts from his interviews, though he may believe he is doing the right thing. 2 Thessalonians 2:10,11 is certainly applicable to men who 'mean well'.

  • TREMENDOUS video, brother Dehlin!

You may well be the man to kick-start a reformation, of sorts, within the church as it applies to the way some things are hidden; that maybe best brought into the light.

While I believe you are a little off the mark on certain points, the crux of your message is very true... that we should love and support our brothers & sisters with a Christ-like love when they have doubts. If we are secure in our own testimony & faith, this shouldn't be too hard.

  • The scriptures are true. The church isn't.

  • More examples: A priesthood holder who actively smokes pot, then goes out and teaches others as a missionary for the ward! lYour children have sex before going to the temple to get married after they are 18, and your bishops still give your children temple recommends in order to get married. There are people standing outside the gates of your Utah temple every night, begging for warmth and food. They are at the one place they should be able to come, and your people turn them away.

  • An example in the past two weeks of hypocrisy: one of your temple "worthy" card holders was trying to teach the masses through social media that gay marriage is okay. While she was to attend the temple 4 days later. She doesn't even believe in what God really states about marriage, and yet she enters your temple. Not Gods temple. Your temple. Your kind doesn't believe in Gods word. You believe in what you want to believe, and then you use your belief in God to validate you. Hypocrites.

  • My hope and prayer is for Heavenly Father to remove the priesthood authority, its gifts and His spirit from the current church, in order to restore it where it truly belongs. The current leadership and examples in the church are not worthy of the gifts on earth and especially not in heaven. Your priesthood can not even respect Gods law in His own temple. And I am so tired of seeing such self righteous individuals try to raise themselves to a status they are unworthy of.

  • I know the book of mormon to be true. I know that it was written about a portion of my ancestors whom are american indian. I know that the scriptures were written directly for me, more so than any in this nation. I am inactive by choice. While the book of mormon is true, the hypocrisy of the LDS members themselves is what drove me away. Their self image is one of glory, beauty and righteousness above all others. While their actions are no less than adversarial towards genuine righteousness.

  • Maybe I missed it, but I think he overlooked the group of people who left simply because they read the Bible, and saw the contradictions between it and LDS Inc. doctrine.

  • I left because the "doctrine" simply isn't true.

  • @beerman1957 it is the true church

  • @chadro85

    Prove it

  • @SocraticFox alright, but you actually have to listen first

  • @chadro85

I already made a video describing three false doctrines of the church, two of which apply to other religions

  • @SocraticFox like...?

can you give me some examples please?

  • @chadro85

Watch the video I made: watch?v=gP1rKfkDyzQ&feature=plcp&context=C3ca01d5UDOEgsToPDskJsHvfw6gM_1FSqFqgSqJOr

That explains them in more detail

  • @chadro85 You can't really prove it. In fact, there are so many historical inaccuracies that it is not even funny. The LDS church spends an inordinate amount of money BUYING documents that are contra to the doctrine, then stashing the bad publicity into a granite-lined archive. Besides, Jesus really didn't exist either, so it kinda ends there.

  • @beerman1957 well how can you prove jesus never existed

  • @beerman1957 Jesus is a real historic person. Just because the LDS stories arent true that doesnt mean Jesus isnt

  • @beerman1957

And it is a cult that doesn't want you to think critically. Glad I left

  • you have a church that is a one way stream. from the top down. and no one can see what the brothers on top are up to. but they make sure everyone is doing there job right when it comes to new members as well as humble people who think they are trusting leaders who pray and get revelation as well as have a mantel that helps them guide members in the right path.

  • @pepstuge Word to that. The LDS higharchy are all related one way or another. Just like the US Presidents are.

Its all about the money and power when it all comes down to it...

  • @pepstuge True. Just look at any of the 12 apostles and prophets family trees. They are all related one way or another. Its a family business and the members are literally modern day slaves.

They are given callings and made to work only for the church to take 10% of everything they earn. That is modern day slavery and the slaves dont even realise they are slaves.

  • the church lacked all sensitivity to humans who were trying to repent from the burden they felt, not from God in its entirety but from the teachings of the church of a God who will never be satisfied with there attempt to try and live a celestial life while trying to become perfect. you call your words Christ language to determine if a member has the holly spirit, and hold them accountable if they are upset or hurt and don't show the sings you claim to recognize as the spirit

  • you can not validate lies by running out like this and claiming its all ok we can still trust and be good people in this church. you are doing what the church has done from the time of J Smith.

if i was going to make a video like you just did i would first Pray to GOD to try and get inspiration to what to do as a falling church. but you are convinced that this is part of the last days. so you seem to think trying to bring people back into it is best.

  • you forget you are speaking of two important things here. one is the fact that the church has not been what they still are trying to wash away. second you forget the many young members being asked personal things such as if they masturbate, and how personal a repentance proses can be and what it means to trust leaders. you talk like these is truly the only damage these member feel.

  • @pepstuge I also remembered the bishop asking if i masturbated when I was just 12 years old.

    Sickening.

  • @2wives1prophet That is gross and immoral.

  • this only validates more everything that has come out of the little dark box the church has held secret for so many years.

  • As well as to the many who have asked leaders about these things and were giving yet more falls reasons and made this a bigger problem, showing that they also today lie and don't have the Holly spirit with them when it matters most. if the churches true view was to look after the well being of there members this sort of thing would not be happening.

  • This is an insult, and not a good way for the church to try and SHADE light on the truth of this types of things. And insult to the many who were treated poorly, but could not run to anyone for help since the church always protects the leader who holds the Mantel giving to him by God.

  • @Cheshu1 "John Taylor 3rd Prophet of the Mormon Church........" I'm sorry but reading that quote I see nothing showing a prophet raging against Christians freeing slaves (it was christians who owned slaves BTW) I see him speaking out against stealing and illegal practices. Try looking at the whole to find the truth rather then just quoting your few favorite quotes over and over everywhere.

  • @Cheshu1 ....Time for repeats. Why am I even wasting my time trying to explain this to you even though you won't listen to a single thing I've said??

  • to the creator of this video I admire you for your honesty,,

  • thank you for creating this video. I like you comments about service at the end. however, I'd like to hear you feelings about the promises made by the church to it's people. if the leaders are imperfect, or they lied, or they exaggerated, or they made mistakes, what does that say about the promises made of peace, eternal life, etc? I am all for turning the church into more if a community service organization and dropping all the rest of it.

  • @Cheshu1 And how does me saying there is a difference between the two, in any way racist? Its called knowing the difference, which requires knowledge. So God hates skin color? Why'd he give it to us then? I thought it was worthless in your words. I am following Jesus. I help my fellow man. . I've read the Bible, I've read the Book Of Mormon and see no fault. I haven't became a racist. So HOW, has my religion become one of evil if there is alot just like me?

  • @Cheshu1 AND I'M NOT RACIST. For the love of...where in ANY of my comments have I said "I hate blacks." Where? Screw dem N****rs? You see any of that in my comments? Nope. Some you can keep the racism crap under tact. I've learned one thing. Anyone we has racism on their mind normally has a secret.

  • @Cheshu1 Stop saying "said or he said," No one really cares. If you would actually see even a clip from THOR you'd understand the "sickly black color." Cheshu, whites, blacks, spanish people, they have evil. In The Bible, Jesus made the evil people very apparent. The Mormon god is Jesus. Like I've said, I keep repeating myself....

  • @Cheshu1 Friends truck. My truck is white and I hated it when I first got it. Anyway...MY racism? I think when I signed on for the FD it said to protect lives and property...NOT lives (only white/Caucasian) and property (only white/Caucasian). All races are allowed in The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I see no racism. Just a loose translated verse. I do not know anyone in my church who is racist. We all get along with anyone/everyone

  • @Cheshu1 Ignorance of the mass. Thats ok, I guess I'm ugly and hateful as well. All that volunteer work, working as a firefighter, buying a truck just to help others in need, house wise and vehicle wise. But thank you, I think I will stick to the description you described Mormons as. Would you like that? Of course you would.

  • @Cheshu1 Mhm...and it showed. It showed how evil they were and they became a sickly black because their soul was evil. Hitler, Stalin, Jeffrey Domer, Eric Klebold, we all knew they were evil. But not because God made them a SICKLY black. If you have ever watched THOR you could get a better description of what skin it was. Check yours, sittin here preaching "I'm more righteous than you are" will not earn you a key to heaven.

  • @Cheshu1 I HAVE TOLD YOU. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BLACK MAN, AND A SICKLY BLACK COLOR. So I guess your sticking with the "Theres more than one God" arguement." Good Job, anywho, "And he had caused the acursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him...." Thats why. Their souls became the color of Cains and it showed. Are we done? The progress here is lacking.

  • In this intensely fascinating 4-part series, long-time Mormon Stories supporter Andrew Ainsworth interviews Daymon Smith Ph.D., a Mormon Anthropologist and the author of "The Book of Mammon: A Book About The Corporation That Owns The Mormons."

Google Mormon Stories & look under "Episode List" for 149-152: "LDS Anthropologist Daymon Smith on Post-Manifesto Polygamy, Correlation, the Corporate LDS Church, and Mammon."

Mormon Stories is the podcast of John Dehlin, producer of this video here.

  • @Cheshu1 "the Mormon God this, the Mormon God that." We all live under ONE GOD, ONE NATION UNDER GOD...NOT GODS. Repeat, How funny is it that all the quotes you mentioned are over 100 years old, and each one has different translations? I have voiced many things, and you avoid them by throwing some other loose verse that I've heard before into the conversation. I feel like I'm repeating myself actually. I don't know your religion preference. I actually have repeated myself...this is going nowhere

  • @Cheshu1 Oh your ignorance. You took a translation from some Anti-Mormon idiot. Then ran with it. In my church we were taught everyone is equal. Jesus loves us all, and NOT to judge someone because of their beliefs. I have a feeling your utterly ignoring any and all my comments. Why do you not take my view into consideration? I remember in Sunday School being taught EVERYONE is God's child. NO ONE is different. Are those lies then? I have a ONE NATION UNDER GOD sticker, that a lie too?

  • @Cheshu1 Ahem. God loves all of his children. I'm not going to get a Bible verse to prove it too you because that is a waste of my time like this. Then you will say but thats not what the Book of Mormon or your prophets said. Then I go on again about mistakes. And it wasn't an insult, it was what I noticed and gave you some advice to follow if your more rightoues than me. But, I'm done with you. Your bent on hating Mormons, I can't help that obviously. This this is pointless.

  • @Cheshu1 Of course. Your still on the whole cursed thing even though I've explained it too you already. So I guess you should be persecuting all other religions since they all have disobeyed the word of God one way or another. Now I will say it again, there is a difference between a black skinned man, and a black as the darkest night of any life. Now Mormons accept all races. what now? All because someone said one bad thing you damn them to hell? Very Christ like. Love thy neighbor as thyself.

  • @Cheshu1 I love how everything I throw at you, you start something else up. Why don't you go bug a christian? Their church was and still is corrupt. But of course your probably are Christain. Plus, I say again, who are you too judge? You ain't God. The Mormon religion may be the one true religion. Jesus was a Jew. So being Jewish should be the true religion. How about Baptists? They could be too. Of course every religion has disobeyed God one way or the other. I say we will find out in death.

  • @Cheshu1 My next question is who are you too judge? Last I checked only God judged us. Not some ignorant "more rightetous than though" online thug. I heard the curse arguement before. There is a difference between a black man, and black as night skin. Oh, and the US government did not FORCE US. There is still the FLDS church and still multiple people who practice pologamy. Where in the hell does it say in Mormons teachings does it say "GO AGAINST GOD,"...even though we believe in him. Ironic.

  • I LOVE THIS!!!! This is the best presentation of why anyone should NOT be a mormon -just like you say- The fact that there are no reasonable answers to these HUGE PROBLEMS in mormonism is no where more accurately stated.

  • at about the 52 minute mark, dehlin goes into how all of the exposed lies/not truths of the church aren't any reason to leave...he even says "forget true...consider 'good'".

THAT RIGHT THERE? (remaining/tacitly lying/compromising the definition of truth)THAT'S WHAT SELLING YOUR SOUL IS.

  • @Cheshu1 Now look at us. One man, one wife. That was fixed. That "distorted" is the same God everyone else believes in. But lets not forget the Christian religion that at one time all you had to do was scream "I'M SAVED" and you were automatically a saved person. Which disregarded the Commandments and all other teachings of Christ. Of course to your racism comment, EVERYONE did it. So why target Mormons instead of the majority? But Mormons obey it now. So whats the problem?

  • So ... to summarize: Even though you admit J.S. was a fraud, a liar and cheat, some how this fraudulent religion he created is still the best thing out there for people to believe in? Circular logic? Ad ad hominem? You good sir are the walking epitome of everything wrong with religion and America in general. A lack of education and, more importantly, a lack of common sense and rational thought. Your arguments never have and never will stand up to a thorough critique. Ignorance is bliss.

  • @MrJowatana Yes ignorance is bliss. Lets not forget the Christian church has had a bad history of control and greed. But forget them, Mormons are the enemy, right? All because someone in the past made a mistake. Evil evil evil. How about them Muslims too? War and all that, but I guess you'd rather call Mormons evil for being peace. Yep, religion of evil. They accept all skin color. Some religions won't let you join for being white. Yep, way evil Mormons for being tolerate. This comment, SARCASM

  • @Hobbitchoker All of the churches are corrupt, greedy and evil, what's new? This vid focuses on one. As for your past mistakes of the church: Prop 8. Is that not recent enough to illustrate the blind intolerance? Or is that a past mistake? Muslims and Christians, Jews and Hindu's all have poor track records but at least they have a history and at some point in time meant well. The LDS church never has and never will, it was founded by a greedy liar and cheat and its intentions have not changed.

  • @MrJowatana Niether has the Christian church. My church constantly help those around us of all religions and color. So does that make us evil?

  • @Hobbitchoker Please look up 'Red Herring;' your deflecting. Again, this vid and thus my comments are about Mormonism. I am not making an argument for any other church. They are also just as idiotic, asinine and pointless in the 21st century. What any other church has done has no bearing on what the LDS church does, or at least that is the theory since the LDS can't maintain a consistent ideology.

  • @MrJowatana Well, then we can agree to disagree. Obviously you have no respect for any religion and anything I say you will hate, and anything you say I will hate.

  • @Cheshu1 Anyone reading this can do 30 minutes of research for themselves and find that you are nothing more than another faith blinded christian zealot. Believing only things your church tells you, believing only the biased history that is published by people that believe the same as you do. Non-biased scholarly history contradicts everything you say. Anyone reading this can see this. You are no different than the faith blinded mormons you are hating on.

  • @Cheshu1 Saying the bible is historically accurate can be proven to be false a million times over with real historical facts. This is not the forum to do it, anyone reading this can take 5 minutes and find it for themselves. Watch videos of real historians and real scholars about early christianity or how the bible was made and your eyes will be opened. Anyone can do this.

  • @Cheshu1 Horus of Egypt and similarities with Jesus Christ, how do you defend that? Logically you can't, you just have to believe. Any and all religions can be proven to be a sham, that is just the nature of them. Any and all religions come down to one thing, whether you believe it i the face of evidence that it is false. Christianity is no different.

  • @Cheshu1 Really kid? I don't need to list bible contradictions here, you can find thousands with a simple google search. You aren't helping your case, anyone reading this will google this and see how dumb you are. I wasn't going to resort to personal insults but really, you are really dumb. I'm not lying abut anything, the things I'm saying can be substantiated by almost every christian historian and people can find this for themselves very easily.

  • @Cheshu1 New testament son, learn your history.

  • @Cheshu1 Where are the originals of the bible, oh ya, we don't have any. We have about 1500 manuscripts from 150 AD to 400 AD AND THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT. You say the bible is the word of God? Why would he take the time to make it but forget to preserve it? The dusty bible on your shelf was translated from 1 of thousands of different contradicting manuscripts, it is not accurate, and luckily for you, since the history ABOUT bible is so good we KNOW it is not accurate.

  • @Cheshu1 If you want history about the bible, why would you ask the bible?? The bible doesn't have history about itself. There are plenty of scholars and historians that all agree on how the bible came to be, 300 years after Christ......Kid, you are amatuer zealot with a keyboard, like a baby with a gun.

Did you watch those videos I mentioned?

  • @Cheshu1 I'm not here to defend the book of mormon, it has discrepancies, just like the bible. Everything in the new testament was written 30-60 years after Christ died, imagine that, it was finally written 30 years after it happened, in an age of oral history. The bible isn't a history book, but you are using like it's historical, the book of Luke says Jesus was born during the reign of Herod the great, but Harod died in 4 B.C. Why the difference?

  • @Cheshu1 please do your homework and watch this series. watch?v=FB4MPBg60Ho

People that study early christianity with the same scrutiny you are studying the book of mormon with find themselves with the same faith, absolute 0. You probably won't study it or watch videos though because you think you are right, just like faithful mormons think they are right. I'm not arguing that mormonism is right, but it's just as right as anything in the new testament. It won't take you 30 minutes to understand

  • People should analyze the similarities between the Mormons and the Masons

Also please note that the Jesus of the Bible and the Jesus worshiped by the Mormons are not the same !

I pray that God lead many away from the lds cult

May Yeshua bless all who are truly His and lead them to Him and away from false doctrine and false church`s.

Peace Truth and Heavenly Understanding ;-)

  • @Cheshu1 Thanks for the verse! I am a mormon and i sure do wish the Church would better address church history and use the bible more often! Thanks for your time my friend

  • All the born again christians posting on this channel need to realize there is 100 times more evidence the bible is false any facts that point to mormonism being false. Give the bible the same historical scrutiny you are now giving the book of mormon and you will have LOTS of unaswerable questions. Watch a video or listen to a lecture from any historian about how the bible was formed or how early christianity was formed and you will question christianity just as you are questioning mormonism

  • @Cheshu1@adamholzer1992 and yes i will agree with you that many mormons brag about their works and are elitists. they put themselves above those of different faiths. this saddens me greatly. On the other hand, however, mainstream christians boast of their own faith often too. would you agree?

  • @Cheshu1 could it be a combination of faith and works would bring one salvation? of course primarily faith. there has to be some middle ground here

  • All religion is man made.

  • @Cheshu1 i am just going by the definition on google... i mean really, if you search it out it is apparent that the Bible contradicts itself in many ways. Take for example the quote " Faith without Works is dead". Other passages it reads that you are saved by grace. Which one should i choose?

  • How can anyone believe any of this bull crap? Now I mean really there are alot of stupid religions but mormons have to be the stupidest.

  • someone prove to me that is says in the bible that we can become gods? where does it say that God was once a man? where does it say that there are many gods in the universe?

  • I really appreciate the honesty of this video, but I don't see how anyone would continue to stake their immortal soul on a false prophet. Finding out I'd been lied to all my life was bad; realizing the church had used me to lie to others, to turn people away from their own beliefs and give their money to this cynical organization...I wonder how I cannot be damned.

  • I never thought I would say this but we decided to leave the church....we just joined in June but I think we need to go before we get in too deep. It is werid...I met some wonderful people I love. And most of these things have changed & they are now just like most christian denominations. But it is the fact that it all ever went on...

  • @betsybk56 Praise God!

  • newcarabu....this is an excellent presentation...well documented and straight foward...thanks

  • @adamholzer1992 - agreed, the discussion SHOULD be over. Believer in Jesus Christ. Not a believer in Joseph Smith. Mormon doctrine requires that you believe in Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith, that Jesus Christ alone is not enough. So no, Mormons are not Christians.

  • @x82hammer28x so all i have to do is accept jesus into my heart and i will go to heaven? what if i have already done that? if that is the case going to the mormon church will neither hurt me or help me. Hypothetically speaking could i accept jesus into my heart, take someones life and still be received by god into heaven? it doesn't make sense to me. There has to be some accountability by god besides accepting Jesus

  • "Vital religion cannot be maintained on the theory that... the Bible is the only evidence that our God is a living, revealing, communicating God. If God ever spoke, He is still speaking. He is the great I am, not the great He was." -Rufus Jones

  • @betsybk56 - it should. Have you read your Bible, and compared it to what the LDS doctrine states? This video only covers flaws within the organization and people, it doesn't even start on doctrine.

  • Why would anyone assume an ex LDS person would automatically become an atheist? I will be going back to my good old Baptist or Episcopal church because the LDS church cannot keep me from believing in Jesus Christ as my Saviour! Geez!

  • Wow...this all scared me! I just converted & was confirmed in June 2011!

  • @betsybk56 It is not up to me to tell you what to do, but if I were you I would get out of the church and stay out. The church can really screw you up.

  • Christian: Noun: A person who has received Christian baptism or is a believer in Jesus Christ and his teachings. Are mormons christians? DISCUSSION OVER

  • @Cheschu1 Please tell me you're joking. Being an atheist is a lack of faith, by deffinition. Please understand a concept before you try to say something about it.

  • I've only skimmed the beginning of this, but how in the world is this guy still a mormon? He's obviously looked at the facts and I'd think he'd be an atheist by now.

  • @j4c300 He explains at the end that his membership with the church isn't based on whether its true or not.

  • @Cheshu1 Hi, yes Jesus always looks at the heart of man. Actually I think we all know that.

  • Oh I love you !

  • Why would someone leave the LDS "church" or corporation I like to see it as? hmmm... They see the truth. No, you cannot infact become a god of your own planet, as the LDS believe, but it states in the bible,Isaiah 43:10-11: "I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." There are plenty more. We could seriously go on all day discussing things of this nature, Joseph Smith have 33 wives that we know of, and his "first" Emma, knew of none of them... no more space....

  • @Cheshu1 Burning blessings of Jesus' Beauty in your being & intimate blessings of affection from His Holy Heart., my brother... because I believed & felt I wanted to knowing we are so beautifully loved by the Majesty of God. :-)

  • "THEY GO TO GOOGLE" (11:01)... if this whole thing could be summarized in four words, those would be the four.

  • this is stupid and hahaha that many people lever i left lol hahahahaah

  • Why people leave: NO scientific backing for anything in your storybooks. Your own first profit was a pedophilia polygamist, and a charlatan treasure-hunter who used a stone in a hat to find gold.

The only thing shown to be true is a path to the loony bin.

People who talk to someone who isn't there, and hears voices in their head: Insanity. Take your pills already. Theres a nice pillow room with a warm jacket to hug yourself, too.

  • People can't do anything about people leaving churches. I, myself, left your awful religion a while back, and had to get several restraining orders on my family, just recently. I also had to drop all of my emails and facebook page because they would not stop sending me spam about how I'll burn for leaving, and how we'll never be a family in "heaven". After they found out about me being an atheist, the spam increased.

I now how a court date to sue them for 'emotional abuse' as my lawyer out it.

  • Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African Race? If the White man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.

    -BRIGHAM YOUNG

    Journal of Discourses

Is this how a 'true church' of Jesus behaves? It is just as hypocritical and faulty as every other religion on the planet.

  • Old Joe Smut was a liar,

  • @Cheshu1 And why would any true prophet of God until his death teach the blasphemous blundering that God was once a man who had to become God or teach for decades the horrific heresy that Adam was God?

If LDS leadership does not get right Who The One True God Is how can LDS be the one true church?

  • @mormonstories Why don't you state at the beginning of this video, if you believe or not

  • @Cheshu1 Explain This:

(Leviticus 25:44-46) "However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way"

  • Read the Book of Mormon. Then Pray and ask Your God if its true. If you pray with a sincere heart, with real intent having faith in Christ. I promise you the Holy

Ghost will manifest it to you. This invitation is given to everyone. I dont need to defend the Church. I know its true. If you want to know if its true. Take my challenge. I promise you that if you apply all the steps, 1sincere heart. 2Faith in Christ, 3real intent. He will answer you

  • @WILDBILLNAZIO so why doesn't the Bible ask the reader to pray and see if it's true? because whether or not you believe it to be true does not negate it's validity. personal truth vs. absolute truth. you personally believe the bom is true, but the absolute truth is that it is a fabrication. sorry, the truth hurts, but God heals. check out Colossians and Hebrews (from the new testament) and tell me if you can sleep at night knowing what you know from mormonism after reading the Bible.
