@Zouroff thats nothing to be afraid for.. 6 months post op i played rugby again :) ..and then i break my arm, so now i'd just exercise at the gym!

@Zouroff you will not get fat, your body will need he nutrients after surgery and you likely won't have an appetite so eat whatever you feel good about during recovery. Once you can walk, walk. Once you can run, run. Avoid contact sports for a year, but other than you will be just fine.

@TrishLois my surgery was 2nd febuary and i played my first rugby-game after surgery 1th august the same year, that was totally OK with my doctors becouse the healing was so well :)

I don't know if more people know this, but there are other options out there for scoliosis patients. As always, consult with your Dr's before deciding...but everyone should be informed about alternatives. youtube search "Clear Scoliosis"

@Sisiyingying , my son has yet to have the surgery. They are now saying late fall. They wanted to do the reconstruction on his nose and lip first which was just done 2 weeks ago. How is your son doing?

@MrTheMakemebad Your doctor should fill you in but in my case I was out of the hospital in a few days and off my pain meds in 2 weeks. Depending on how old you are and how healthy you are. I was 19 at the time and as of now its almost been a year and I do not regret it one bit

Wow its great seeing those pictures during surgery! I had surgery a year ago and i havent watched many videos, but it was great seeing your video and knowing we all went through the same thing :) Hope you are better now! And like you have at the end, I have 2 rods and 25 screws :)

I just wanted to thank God for surgeons that can perform such a life saving surgery. My daughter had her's done 1-11-2010. It saved her life. It was so bad she would of died in a few years. It would of compressed her heart & lungs. She is now happy and much taller than before. Taller than me now. Now she can do the things she wanted to do . She also can sleep good on both sides .
