there was a house that surrounded that chair at one time , but it went into foreclosure , so the Gov came in and repossessed the house and all the possessions , save for the one red chair that some poor soul used to watch football games on .

it turns out , one of the guys who was working for the Gov. , tasked to clear the area was the former owner of this house and land . Out of respect , they left this fave chair of his in the hope he would return . JV

There was this party see...and one couple got pretty tipsy (or downright drunk) and fell asleep in that chair, together, naked, under a knitted afghan. Some friends, as a cruel joke, loaded up the couple in the chair and hauled them to this spot, leaving them there. When they woke up, they assessed their situation; then, wrapped only in the afghan, ran into the wooded area. Who knows, they may still be there, waiting for their 'friends' to come back for them.
