@jellyjigglerman hahah i laughed so hard at that when my lecturer put the anagram on the board....F.A.Ps....i actually snorted and wrote "hahahaha" down on my book
I remember Prof. Sapolsky's Human Behavioral Biology course at Stanford. Arguably one of the most life-changing experiences of my life. Every day I went in there and he would completely shatter some idea I'd held my entire life about life, the universe, and everything. This lecture is a direct lift from that course.
man, i would KILL to attend a class of his. i've all of his books, save for the Trouble with Testosterone (i'm halfway through it now); this guy is a living legend. and yeah, i'm with you, he has changed SO much of what i've previously believed.
@superzerox1 This is from a Teaching Company course called "Biology and Human Behavior - The Neurological Origins of Individuality, 2nd Edition". It's available in audio or dvd.
Man a 9:54 video to say that B.F. Skinner thought of a stimulus-behavior-consequence and these other great men thought about the releasing mechanism (stimulus), behavior, nervous system (as based on stimulus), and what is the behavior good for (consequence). So in other words they thought of nothing new at all. Dude behaviorists can easily explain the things you ended with. Children love those who harm them because they thrive on attention.
The external world stimulates the internal and the internal stimulates the external. Every thing is physical, test it yourself before work or school tomorrow run a few miles and take note of your thoughts, feeling, and actions during the day.
