my guess would be because the majority of people online use ken, ryu, akuma, or sagat. all the other characters r harder to use because they are weaker, have different controls than ken@ryu, or don't shoot anything.

Alpha 3 had some good balance too. If they could import EX series' super combo system into an Alpha-series kind of game, that would rule very very much. Of course remastered on the PS3/PC (Xbox can go to hell... its controllers STINK at fighting games). I wouldn't mind old-school 2d anims though

25 characters as next gen console is low. Alpha 3 had far more characters, and Mortal Kombat Armageddon had an INSANE number. Something like 62 characters to choose from. 62 versus 25 AND PS2 versus PS3/Xbox 360 doesn't add up. The graphics in Mortal Kombat were also better, the only advantage graphics wise in this game are the Ultras. And before you say anything bad, I HAVE this game legit, and I have up to Seth unlocked. So I know what I'm saying.

It isn't so much that there is a problem with balance, I mean if you've ever played Alpha 3 most of the characters were very well balanced with the rest of them. Also in MK Armageddon, I've seen people use every single person in that character list and still deal some good damage out.

SF4 is *NOT* a balanced game by any means, Blanka, Zangief, Abel and Cammy are worlds above the rest of the roster. Their moves are way too cheap and have priority over everything. Seth as last boss is so as well.

You can just jump and HP with him over and over, teleport when someone gets close. Cammy's spiral arrow has NO recovery time (if you block it and crouch LP with someone, she can block it even if it's a reversal), Zangief grabs you from 10 years away, Blanka's roll gives him escape distance if blocked, Abel can air and floor grab AND invincible roll out of anything. *sigh*

Street fighter has never had as many characters as MK, and was never a highly graphical game. Theres also a deep storyline with the SF series, having 50 characters is far too confusing for anyone.

Oh really? Let me count the number of people in Alpha 3.

34 characters total in Alpha 3. Almost the same as MK trilogy back in the day. There are some from SF1 that don't appear in SFA3 as well. SF4 has 25, and 6 are never seen before. That means 19 old characters. That's about half of what was there before. Storywise, the only person who shouldn't show up is Charlie. Anyway, making 33 or so in SSF4 will be nicer, and better SC variety is hugely welcomed.
