my dog just passed away this morning, i cried so much. her name was Holly she was 8, and she was the nicest dog ever, about a week ago she had a small heart attack so we brought her to the vet and spent $2,500 on medicine and as much as we could do but we could not give her surgery because she had a hole in her heart. so this morning i woke up and let her outside and then got ready for work and she followed me in the kitchen and when i was in the kitchen she just fell over and i knew she passed.
It was really sad. My terrier girl was put to sleep few mths ago. My tears couldnt stop even till today. Grew up with me giving me all her silence support, giving me lots of courage to face life. That very day, she in my arms, i cried very very hard. I kiss smell all over her saying my love saying my sorry. They are not jus a dog, they have bcome part of our very self, a one that we cant afford to lost n when lost, we lost ourselves too. If there is a path that wil lead me to her side,i wil walk

i lost my boy yesterday. we grew up together. in two months he would have seen me turn 17, and in two more he would have turned 10. his cancer came on so suddenly; three weeks ago i had no idea he wouldn't see me through the rest of high school and childhood. he never saw me grow up fully. and i never saw him grow old, which he would have done so gracefully. i don't know what i am without my sweet boy. i will never forget him and love him forever.

I know how you feel. I raised my dog from a pup. She was 12 & developed terminal cancer. She was my play mate, companion, soul mate, & my shoulder to cry on. She'd sit on my lap & snuggle up as close as she could when she felt I was sick or sad. I had to put her down last week cause I woke up 1 morning & she gagging for air. What remains are the memories of the wondeful times she shared with us -- memories that will last forever. When we reminisce about her, we smile. Lost my dog yesterday... He was also born in 1996. His birthday should have been next month. He was after a difficult operation, was getting out of narcosis and suddenly the heart stopped... it was about 5 hours after the operation. We brought him to a vet. I was watching everything with a small hope and then the answer came - that's it.. it's over. I can't get over it, just like you. Nothing to be changed, but what if...
Sorry for your loss pal...we went through the same thing with a Persian cat of ours three years ago. We lost Katy at the age of two from an oral mast cell tumor. My baby, Daina, my dog for 5 years had to be put down 10 days ago. She had a rare disese that shuts down all the automatic systems such as her esophagus (which means she could not get any thing down), digestive system, and than her nervous system she couldnt controle her self at the very end. She suffered for almost 2 weeks, by the last week she was skin and bones and was suffering SO much! This reminded me of my poor doggy so much! I miss her!

I took her for a check-up to find she has a hyper thyroid issue, which is causing her heart to race. She's also got a tumor.
It tears me apart because there is nothing more I can do for her, medication will only prolong her suffering. Its tough letting go, feeling like you could have done more...

I cried when I saw this. I had a yorkshire Terrier, Chloe and Harmony were a lot alike. Harmony was put down in October, two weeks after her birthday. She suffered from Kidney failure. She didn't eat for about 5 days, it was hard because we had to force her to eat. She wouldn't go outside and she wouldn't really do anything. When my mom noticed her not doing anything, she took her to my dad's clinic and he told us she was pretty much dying. So a week and a half l8r, we put her down. It's hard!
I kow the pain,,,, I know the heartache,,,,,, it never goes away for how could one forget the the love of a companion, I had my pal Cinco for 16 years and then had to do the heartbreaking thing of putting him down... it killed my very soul.
As a loving pet owner, I well know how you feel, even 2 1/2 years later. I have had to put down my share of pet family members. It never gets easy. At least Chloe had the one she loved with her at those last moments, as difficult as it was for you. You gave her what she loved even more than food, love and being with you, even to the end. So sorry for your loss.
Your video reminded me of my great friend Sadan - a sweet pitbull that left me some years ago. I will never forget our games on rainy days, his care for me and his last day and moments. Even sick and weak he tried to get up and hug me like a human being before dying. I buried him in the backyard where we lived. Turning back to my old place, brought their bones and buried here. My dog Petey just died a few days ago....my heart is shattered. It was so unexpected. People that dont have pets dont/cant understand. Animals are trustworthy/devoted and non judgemental...they see us at our worst and our best and love us regardless. I miss you Petey so much....I look forward to seeing you again someday...in the meantime may you have fun with all your new pals in Heaven....

Just had to put our 8 year old sheltie down today. I asked when will be getting his ashes, the nurse said next week. One of the last things I told our dog was I will see you in a week. He had a malignant tumor on the left leg and lost all nerves on his right leg.
@beautyzone1 So sorry to hear. I highly recommend getting another one sometime in the future. Even the vet said that all shelties are sweet hearts by nature. Just take EXTRA care of it. It's not easy, but know that you made the right choice and that your pet thanks you for making the right choice, regardless of how hard it was for the both of you.
Two weeks ago my dog was diagnosed with cancer in his stomach and spleen. He's lost so much weight, and he wont eat.. He's only eight.. He'll be nine on October ninth. we have to take him in this weekend to be put down.... I'm sorry, and I know what your going through. It's like a part of youe heart is being ripped out... Your video touched my heart and I know so well exactly how you feel. You see, I, too, had to have my beloved dog of 15 yrs. put to sleep on May 7, 2010 and your video showed me that I am not alone in how I grieve for my pet. It was just him and me alone for all those years as my girls were grown and married and my husband was dead. So, I went through this alone and I feel as if a part of myself died right along with my dog, my friend, my love.
My dog was diagnosed with cancer at 12 years old. He was an American staffordshire terrier. My dad was taking him to the vet that last time to see if there was anything else to be done, but that was it. I wasn't home and when I came back it was all over. He was gone. I didn't get to say goodbye. I still don't know if what my dad did was right, maybe he should have brought him back home so we could all say our goodbyes. I'm sure it was quick, but...we weren't there. :( We love him very much.
@Maialeen It is such an emotionally hard decision to make, that I believe your father spared you from suffering more by taking care of the heartbreaking decision himself. I was alone with my dog and held him during the procedure and even though I knew it was best intelligently, I couldn't accept it in my heart. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Go give your father a kiss and thank him for sparing you the extra pain b/c I'm sure he has suffered inside more than you know.

My dog bambam,a beautiful Basenji was put down late this week at seven years old. I havnt been able to hold my tears in. That dog brought so Much love into our lives. We lost our toy poodle Storm just 3 weeks ago on the 21st of December 2009. We got him at 6 weeks old and he just turned 12 on December 16th 2009. It was a rough Christmas in this house! I guess time will make it better. Sorry for everyone's loss on here, but the truth is only we are hurting now and our pets are at peace. Hope that makes someone feel a bit better. RIP to all our pets that have died.

I was very close to cocoa. i babysitted him almost everyweek. i got really close to him. but then one day after me my mom and her friend went the park with cocoa. my mom got a phone call from my moms friend saying cocoa got hit with a car. =(

I just lost my wonderful St. Bernard Bernie, barely over a year old. He was just staying at a friends for awhile and got ran over. I've never loved an animal more than this guy. She was diagnosed of leptospirosis and I couldn't do anything because she was already so jaundice then. I was a province away from her and it was very painful. The hurt still simmers in my heart. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, she was beautiful. I lost my Scottish Terrier, Hamish, at the age of ten on October 22nd, 2007. He was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and for the longest time, he did well but then started to make a turn for the worse. We could have put him through testing to see what was the matter, but at that time, he was suffering and we thought he'd been through enough at the time. Although we planned on having him put down, he passed away in his sleep.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had to put my border collie down November 2008 because she had congestive heart failure and was suffering terribly. I felt guilty for doing it, and guilty for waiting so long. I got her when she was about a year and a half old, and had her for nine and a half years.

Very sad documentary. I should make one for my first dog. he died in my arms. Bandit, a sheltie dalmation mix, was shot for fun. I heard the shot and ran to where I heard it to see my 9 year old dog bleedind and struggling to breath. I held him, we were still in the other peoples yard, and held his head so he could look at me in his last moments. he whined and nuzzled me. Then he took one last breath and. . .died. I will never forgive those people for taking mt Bandit away from me.

I think I'm about to loose my 13 year old Pointer, Oscar. He was diagnosed with chronic kidney faliure about 6 months ago but has has a great quality of life recently. Even though it has been hard to stop crying, I know she is present.Later, my 7 yr old grandson started to see things in my room. He saw four balls around me that were different colors. I came home from work and found him already stiff, cold and the half eaten rat was just a few feet away from him. Poison probably killed the rat and the poison in the rat killed my Ratty Boy. It's hurts me to think I was not there to have helped him. He was my baby. I miss him so much!
I am so sorry about Chloe's untimely passing. I just has to put my dog down two days ago on 9/4/08. His name was Milo and he was believed to be suffering from Lymphocytic Plasmcytic Enteritis. It was a disease that did damage to his intestinal system. It got to the point where he could not eat or relieve himself.
I am so sorry for your loss and feel your pain. I am going through every ounce of that right now. He just turned 10 years old and we had rescued him. I hope it gets better.
Losing a pet sucks, it's the same as losing a friend or relative. But love forms a bond that carries on after passing. Grieving is the worst pain a person can go through, but after the initial sadness is gone we have that bond and love in our hearts. And of course, you'll be together again one day.
I had to put my "Roxie" down this morning.She died with what seems to be the same kind of thing her brother,"Buddy", died from three years ago. She was fine all day. Playful and her usual self. Then around 8PM she couldn't stand up. I helped her and she regained some control.She walked out to go to the bathroom for me then within hours she was gone. She had a tumor that ruptured and she was bleeding inside. We spent an hour together and then she passed.She would have been 13 on 2/17/08.
We lost our 14 year old cocker spaniel the very same way. One moment she was playing, then, within an hour and a half, we were having her put to sleep. She was bleeding to death internally, gasping for air. That night haunts me still.
I had a flash of a vision of Roxie. She was a white dog with a beautiful coat that was blond tipped. In my vision I saw Roxie glowing in light. She was on a shinny gold leash held by a being who also was clothed in light. I couldn't see the face of the person leading Roxie to me but it felt like an angel. That's it. This being or person was walking my dog towards me. I feel confident Roxie will come back to me. I do believe they come back. Thank you for your comment. Blessings, Dgladen

I'm sorry for your lost, but I know how you feel. I just lost my pup on 6/25/08 @ 2am. He past away in my arms, he had a tumor in his right hip, but he never gave up. I miss him so much and everyday I think of him. Many say as the days go by it gets easier but it seems to get harder. I was with him since the day he was born on September 14,1997 and now I feel that the biggest part of my life is gone. I wear his tags around my neck everyday to honor him. He is my baby, my son. His name is Flower.

I know the pain of having to put down ur dog. Mine "fluffy" he was 16 yrs old small breed. I had to call our local animal pound to collect him 2 put him to sleep. I had him for 15mins alone cradling him in my arms in my old shirts. When the van pulled up in my drive way i broke down knowing this was the last time i will see him alive. feel his sweet little cold nose on me. I placed him at the back of van kissed him goodbye and with hard sobs watch the van carry away my baby for 16 yrs. I miss U!
i dont think i've ever cried so much. this coming from a guy who has done three iraq tours. i love dogs and i just bought a dog today from the humane society (my first dog since i was a kid). i look forward to the good times and i just hope i have the courage to give him the love that i know he will give me.

my dog just passed away this morning, i cried so much. her name was Holly she was 8, and she was the nicest dog ever, about a week ago she had a small heart attack so we brought her to the vet and spent $2,500 on medicine and as much as we could do but we could not give her surgery because she had a hole in her heart. so this morning i woke up and let her outside and then got ready for work and she followed me in the kitchen and when i was in the kitchen she just fell over and i knew she passed.

She pooped blood. But we didn't know what she had

i lost my boy yesterday. we grew up together. in two months he would have seen me turn 17, and in two more he would have turned 10. his cancer came on so suddenly; three weeks ago i had no idea he wouldn't see me through the rest of high school and childhood. he never saw me grow up fully. and i never saw him grow old, which he would have done so gracefully. i don't know what i am without my sweet boy. i will never forget him and love him forever.

I know how you feel. I raised my dog from a pup. She was 12 & developed terminal cancer. She was my play mate, companion, soul mate, & my shoulder to cry on. She'd sit on my lap & snuggle up as close as she could when she felt I was sick or sad. I had to put her down last week cause I woke up 1 morning & she gagging for air. What remains are the memories of the wondeful times she shared with us -- memories that will last forever. When we reminisce about her, we smile. Sorry for your loss pal...we went through the same thing with a Persian cat of ours three years ago. We lost Katy at the age of two from an oral mast cell tumor. My baby, Daina, my dog for 5 years had to be put down 10 days ago. She had a rare disese that shuts down all the automatic systems such as her esophagus (which means she could not get any thing down), digestive system, and than her nervous system she couldnt controle her self at the very end. She suffered for almost 2 weeks, by the last week she was skin and bones and was suffering SO much! This reminded me of my poor doggy so much! I miss her!

I took her for a check-up to find she has a hyper thyroid issue, which is causing her heart to race. She's also got a tumor.
It tears me apart because there is nothing more I can do for her, medication will only prolong her suffering. Its tough letting go, feeling like you could have done more...

I cried when I saw this. I had a yorkshire Terrier, Chloe and Harmony were a lot alike. Harmony was put down in October, two weeks after her birthday. She suffered from Kidney failure. She didn't eat for about 5 days, it was hard because we had to force her to eat. She wouldn't go outside and she wouldn't really do anything. When my mom noticed her not doing anything, she took her to my dad's clinic and he told us she was pretty much dying. So a week and a half l8r, we put her down. It's hard!

As a loving pet owner, I well know how you feel, even 2 1/2 years later. I have had to put down my share of pet family members. It never gets easy. At least Chloe had the one she loved with her at those last moments, as difficult as it was for you. You gave her what she loved even more than food, love and being with you, even to the end. So sorry for your loss.

Your video reminded me of my great friend Sadan - a sweet pitbull that left me some years ago. I will never forget our games on rainy days, his care for me and his last day and moments. Even sick and weak he tried to get up and hug me like a human being before dying. I buried him in the backyard where we lived. Turning back to my old place, brought their bones and buried here. My dog Petey just died a few days ago....my heart is shattered. It was so unexpected. People that dont have pets dont/cant understand. Animals are trustworthy/devoted and non judgemental...they see us at our worst and our best and love us regardless. I miss you Petey so much....I look forward to seeing you again someday...in the meantime may you have fun with all your new pals in Heaven....

Just had to put our 8 year old sheltie down today. I asked when will be getting his ashes, the nurse said next week. One of the last things I told our dog was I will see you in a week. He had a malignant tumor on the left leg and lost all nerves on his right leg.

@beautyzone1 So sorry to hear. I highly recommend getting another one sometime in the future. Even the vet said that all shelties are sweet hearts by nature. Just take EXTRA care of it. It's not easy, but know that you made the right choice and that your pet thanks you for making the right choice, regardless of how hard it was for the both of you.

Two weeks ago my dog was diagnosed with cancer in his stomach and spleen. He's lost so much weight, and he wont eat.. He's only eight.. He'll be nine on October ninth. we have to take him in this weekend to be put down.... I'm sorry, and I know what your going through. It's like a part of youe heart is being ripped out... Your video touched my heart and I know so well exactly how you feel. You see, I, too, had to have my beloved dog of 15 yrs. put to sleep on May 7, 2010 and your video showed me that I am not alone in how I grieve for my pet. It was just him and me alone for all those years as my girls were grown and married and my husband was dead. My dog was diagnosed with cancer at 12 years old. He was an American staffordshire terrier. My dad was taking him to the vet that last time to see if there was anything else to be done, but that was it. I wasn't home and when I came back it was all over. He was gone. I didn't get to say goodbye. I still don't know if what my dad did was right, maybe he should have brought him back home so we could all say our goodbyes. I'm sure it was quick, but...we weren't there. :( We love him very much.

@Maialeen It is such an emotionally hard decision to make, that I believe your father spared you from suffering more by taking care of the heartbreaking decision himself. I was alone with my dog and held him during the procedure and even though I knew it was best intelligently, I couldn't accept it in my heart. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Go give your father a kiss and thank him for sparing you the extra pain b/c I'm sure he has suffered inside more than you know.

Chloe is beautiful! She looks just like my dog Charwee, especially at 3:44. The likeness is amazing, and it was like watching my dog in someone elses video sometimes. Char Wee passed away Feb 5, and I understand the pain that you feel. I wish you the best.

my dog has just died from a tumor and its so wierd not seeing him cause he use to always be in the same room as me laying next to me or on my bed. the hardest part will be coming home from school.

We lost our toy poodle Storm just 3 weeks ago on the 21st of December 2009. We got him at 6 weeks old and he just turned 12 on December 16th 2009. It was a rough Christmas in this house! I guess time will make it better. Sorry for everyone's loss on here, but the truth is only we are hurting now and our pets are at peace. Hope that makes someone feel a bit better. RIP to all our pets that have died.

i feel so sorry for you. this video made me cry. I absolutely love dogs. i dont have one because my parents dont like dogs. but my mothers friend that had a Yorkie named CoCoa. I was very close to cocoa. i babysitted him almost everyweek. i got really close to him. but then one day after me my mom and her friend went the park with cocoa. my mom got a phone call from my moms friend saying cocoa got hit with a car. =(

I just lost my wonderful St. Bernard Bernie, barely over a year old. He was just staying at a friends for awhile and got ran over. I've never loved an animal more than this guy. His mannerisms were unlike anything I have seen, and he brought me such joy. I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm still in shock.

huhu. I cried. As I was watching the tribute to Chloe, tears started to fall on my cheeks. I also lost my dog just this 23rd of September 2009. She was diagnosed of leptospirosis and I couldn't do anything because she was already so jaundice then. I was a province away from her and it was very painful. The hurt still simmers in my heart. I miss her so much. :( I hope your feeling good now sir.

I am so sorry to hear of her passing, she was beautiful. I lost my Scottish Terrier, Hamish, at the age of ten on October 22nd, 2007. He was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and for the longest time, he did well but then started to make a turn for the worse. We could have put him through testing to see what was the matter, but at that time, he was suffering and we thought he'd been through enough at the time. Although we planned on having him put down, he passed away in his sleep.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my 14 year old dog 3 days ago and I don't think I can handle the grief and the terrible pain. It's very comforting to know that there is at least one other person out there that feels exactly like me. Most people around me say "Come on, don't exaggerate. It was just a dog". ik how u feel we had to put my dog misty down today :( we had her for 8 years from a pup an she got her leg broke by a cow an we got her to the vet after we called like 6 of them an no1 would help us for under like 2000$ an we are kinda poor an 1 did for 900$ but they lied an then said it would be 1800$ so we had to put her down an it was 300$ just to do that i would give anything to have her back :( i miss u misty

I'm sorry for your loss. I had to put my border collie down November 2008 because she had congestive heart failure and was suffering terribly. I felt guilty for doing it, and guilty for waiting so long. I got her when she was about a year and a half old, and had her for nine and a half years.

Very sad documentary. I should make one for my first dog. he died in my arms. Bandit, a sheltie dalmation mix, was shot for fun. I heard the shot and ran to where I heard it to see my 9 year old dog bleedind and struggling to breath. I held him, we were still in the other peoples yard, and held his head so he could look at me in his last moments. he whined and nuzzled me. Then he took one last breath and. . .died. I will never forgive those people for taking mt Bandit away from me.

I feel for you. I know what it's like to lose a friend, but in the way you did, I wish I could say something but I can't except - don't let the hateful actions of others scar you - there will always be bad people. At least he died in your arms and knew you loved him. I know how you feel because my dog Lucky was deliberately knocked down by this guy -just swerved the car and killed her. I only held her after she was already dead. I hope she knows I miss her.

I think I'm about to loose my 13 year old Pointer, Oscar. He was diagnosed with chronic kidney faliure about 6 months ago but has has a great quality of life recently. But he hasn't eaten for the past day and wont get out of bed. I really don't want to loose him as he has been a friend for life. Tommorow might be his last day... :(

Even though it has been hard to stop crying, I know she is present.Later, my 7 yr old grandson started to see things in my room. He saw four balls around me that were different colors. He said it was Roxie. I feel she left me because she is helping me to clear a path in my life where she couldn't come along. We also have a promise to stay together forever. I know we will. Sorry to hear about your loss. I know exactly what you are feeling and it is very painful. I lost my dog who was only 14 months old on Sept. 3, 2008. I wish I could give him just one last hug. I came home from work and found him already stiff, cold and the half eaten rat was just a few feet away from him. Poison probably killed the rat and the poison in the rat killed my Ratty Boy. It's hurts me to think I was not there to have helped him. He was my baby. I miss him so much!

I am so sorry about Chloe's untimely passing. I just has to put my dog down two days ago on 9/4/08. His name was Milo and he was believed to be suffering from Lymphocytic Plasmcytic Enteritis. It was a disease that did damage to his intestinal system. It got to the point where he could not eat or relieve himself.
I am so sorry for your loss and feel your pain. I am going through every ounce of that right now. He just turned 10 years old and we had rescued him. I hope it gets better.

Losing a pet sucks, it's the same as losing a friend or relative. But love forms a bond that carries on after passing. Grieving is the worst pain a person can go through, but after the initial sadness is gone we have that bond and love in our hearts. And of course, you'll be together again one day.

I had to put my "Roxie" down this morning.She died with what seems to be the same kind of thing her brother,"Buddy", died from three years ago. She was fine all day. Playful and her usual self. Then around 8PM she couldn't stand up. I helped her and she regained some control.She walked out to go to the bathroom for me then within hours she was gone. She had a tumor that ruptured and she was bleeding inside. We spent an hour together and then she passed.She would have been 13 on 2/17/08.

We lost our 14 year old cocker spaniel the very same way. One moment she was playing, then, within an hour and a half, we were having her put to sleep. She was bleeding to death internally, gasping for air. That night haunts me still.

I had a flash of a vision of Roxie. She was a white dog with a beautiful coat that was blond tipped. In my vision I saw Roxie glowing in light. She was on a shinny gold leash held by a being who also was clothed in light. I couldn't see the face of the person leading Roxie to me but it felt like an angel. That's it. I'm sorry for your lost, but I know how you feel. I just lost my pup on 6/25/08 @ 2am. He past away in my arms, he had a tumor in his right hip, but he never gave up. I miss him so much and everyday I think of him. Many say as the days go by it gets easier but it seems to get harder. I was with him since the day he was born on September 14,1997 and now I feel that the biggest part of my life is gone. I wear his tags around my neck everyday to honor him. He is my baby, my son. His name is Flower.

I know the pain of having to put down ur dog. Mine "fluffy" he was 16 yrs old small breed. I had to call our local animal pound to collect him 2 put him to sleep. I had him for 15mins alone cradling him in my arms in my old shirts. When the van pulled up in my drive way i broke down knowing this was the last time i will see him alive. feel his sweet little cold nose on me. I placed him at the back of van kissed him goodbye and with hard sobs watch the van carry away my baby for 16 yrs. I miss U!

i dont think i've ever cried so much. this coming from a guy who has done three iraq tours. i love dogs and i just bought a dog today from the humane society (my first dog since i was a kid). i look forward to the good times and i just hope i have the courage to give him the love that i know he will give me.

Your rendition of what happened reminded me of staring into my dogs eyes as he was put down. I held my head to his and tried to talk softly through my silent sobs. i had a black labrador since i was 5, she died 4 months ago when i was still 18. it was a very sudden death, i remember talking to her on the saturday saying goodbye before i went to work, as i came back my parents had her at the vets n were putting her down because she was pooing blood. it was the right thing to do i'd hate to think of her in pain. those 13 years of memories will always be with me. i'm sorry for your loss.
