If Israel is supposed to exist because of an ancient book, and because it "was theirs 2,000 years ago," then Americans would also need to give the USA back to the Native Americans, since it was originally "their land." Mexico war ended with the PURCHASE of the acquired territories by the u.s., and most importantly, that war was BEFORE the u.n. res. 242 that says "no new land may be acquired EVEN AS A RESULT OF DEFENSIVE WAR". So the argument that the land was obtained through war is invalid. Under his logic, Kuwait should currently occupy half of Iraq. Iraq was occupied by US forces from 2003 until June 28, 2004, at which time authority was handed to the Iraqi Interim Government. At that point US forces remained in Iraq, but Iraq was no longer deemed occupied. If handing over authority to a Coalition-appointed interim government ended "occupation," would the same not hold true for the establishment of the Palestinian Authority and Israel?

The real name of the West Bank is Judea and Samaria. Prior to the British Mandate the area was under Turkish rule, not Arab. Until the 1960s, the Arabs used "Palestinian" to mean Jew and the Arabs promised to kill all Palestinians. They adopted the name for themselves in order to fool naive Westerners.
