  • Marconi who?

  • yeah,, Edison who too. Tried to steal the ideas from Tesla. He was d MAN.

  • can I get a portable one of these :) QC

  • i have a question for people who works with phisics would that little lightning kill me ??

that comes out of VACUUM TUBE TESLA COIL ?

  • @gokuussj8 no it probobly wont kill you, but i do not recoamend touching it either. but its harmles as far as i know, the worst thing that has hapend to me was a burn, but apart from that nothing has hapend.

  • Love these vacuum tube coils, they sound so meaty! :D

  • Wow! Great results - this is probably one of the best vacuum tube-driven coils I've seen out there. What tube(s) are you using? (Perhaps you should include it in the description as quite a few people seem to be curious).

  • what tube did you use

  • I'll give you 50p if you put your hand in it.

  • 0:26....kinda hard to sing at 1000 BPM isn't it?

  • They should use a series of these on the border . that'll keep em illegals out.

  • Looks bad ass!

  • is Rambo nearby whit a minigun?

  • Interesting!

Fun. Better than rotating spark gap.

Next, modulate and make it speak in a sinister voice, "Come closer."

Bad, there would be BIG problems with transmitting energy without wires

    and tremendous losses.

  • this would be great in bars and night clubs put in in there

  • :20 thunder jizz

  • dnb at its finest

  • 0:10 JIZZ ME A LIGHTNING!

  • will you die if you touch that?

  • @Abiyahu No it will pass right through you and not hurt you. People hold florescent light bulbs near them all the time to light them up. Nicola Tesla invented the Tesla Coil and the florescent bulb over 100 years ago. He made almost all of out tech. He patented all the parts to the radio, but someone else put it together and used it first so he didn't get any credit. He was talking about wireless TV and energy back then too ;)

  • If you touch it, will it kill you. I'm honestly not sure

  • @Ideaz4U2 no it will hurt like HELL though

  • it sounds crazy......... wow dancing light beam.

  • Nice work man

    It's awesome 5* from me

  • Tube is GU-881 or 833?

  • How many watts are you running?

  • good work daddy XD

  • that doesnt look like its in a vacuum tube

  • no, this is not IN a vacuum tube, it is powered by one. that is why it it a fraction of a second delay and not a constant arc

  • @438426x1 a vacum tube is an electrical component -_-

  • here's you're electric bill =D

  • Yes comrade, charging up!

    ill charge it up!!!

    give it a boost.!

  • are we thinking about the same thing ?!

  • Trooper fully charged!

  • i think so =P

  • Fully shielded. Electrodes drying. Im wired.Connectchna. Free hook-ups.

  • yes!! =D

    i knew it.

    " We wil bury you !! "

  • holy shit!

  • what do u mean he WANTED to transmit electricity wireless? he accomplished it in 1899 in colorado springs by transmitting 100 million volts ( 100 MV ) across 26 miles, and lit up a bank of 200 light bulbs and 1 ac motor NIKOLA TESLA was tha man!!. benjamin franklin who>?????? lol

  • @badass03ss no, thomas edison who?

  • @badass03ss Lets not forget also... Nicola Tesla invented the Tesla Coil and the florescent bulb over 100 years ago. He made almost all of our tech. He patented all the parts to the radio, but someone else put it together and used it first so he didn't get any credit. He was talking about wireless TV and energy back then too ;)

  • FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!

  • pause at 0:26 fuckin creepy hand

  • Show us the generator and cap in the future, please...it sounds interestly

  • what is a vacuum tesla coil

  • If I'm not mistaken he's using vacuum tubes for his tesla coil rather than a solid state transistors

  • kick ass drum solo

  • Comment removed

  • i wana tuch it a 0:25!

    lol

  • haahhaahha

  • ahhahahahah

    yes,that shit is fucked up

  • let me tell you why...because some secret service in america burned his apartment and stole his projects.they will present them to us when they find a way to make money out of it...

  • Can you blame them in 1943? We were developing the bomb. Tesla was the greatest electrical engineer in history. He had publicized that he had war robots. If nothing else, securing his secrets may have been done to cause the other side to shit their pants. (Like, "We got Tesla's stuff. Coming to a battlefield near you! Soon!")

  • who is on the other side?

  • The "Axis" powers. Jap, Ger, Ital

  • I'd say it would start a lot of mass destruction and end the world, shortly after solving all of the world's problems. Death rays and earthquake machines? Plasma shooting rods? lol.

  • thats pretty much accurate, theres so much retarded people on earth hating each others, you just can't give them more tech as we have now, they won't make good use of it anyway.

theres a good reason for tech supression by gouverment, either its this one or they want to keep making money outta ordinary people, both statement are probably accurate

  • that sounded like a machine gun

  • Very good. A lot of people when they test Tesla coils, Don't factor in variable voltage. Well done.

  • it was never finished because Marconi built the radio and did stuff that the tesla coil was supposed to do. We never finished it because of the cost it is to build such an invention. Personally i wish we could invest in this idea of transmitting energy and maybe even make it to transfer pictures and music as a new way to use the internet possibly. idk im just rambling

  • no tesla made the radio

  • actually no. marconi built it. though he used tesla's patented inventions like the transformer. a couple years after his death, it was declared that tesla had built the radio, not marconi. so etyhically you are correct, but marconi put it together. so we're both correct. but i agree with you. it should have been tesla from the get-go.

  • dammnit i thought i discard my comment

  • thats what tesla tried to accomplish

  • sounds cool

  • It is nice as a spectacle,BUT what's the use of it?:S

  • uhm dare ur m8s to touch it

  • It turns on lights remotely, if you put bulbs near it.

  • well my ass wont be getting that close

  • @lordofwafflez I bet almost every american over the age of 5 has already touched one and does not even realize it. You know those cool glass balls in the novelty stores. You know the ones with the electricity that will go where ever you are touching it? That IS a Tesla Coil. The glass is just there to encompass the electricity into a tighter area and give you a surface to touch without fear ;)

  • @CrumpJuice420

finnaly found my YEAR old comment....and i have no idea what i was commenting about...

and those balls are running at a harmless voltage. There is a gas in the bulb that conducts electricity so its easily visible. without the glass or gas it would hardly spark

  • @lordofwafflez I have seen scientists hold a fluorescent light bulb up to a Tesla Coil with an input of 120v and an output of 500,000v and it doesn't seem to bother them too much. Check out the documentary done by the History Channel called "MAD ELECTRICITY" it's on here if you doubt what I am saying. BTW have you ever broke one of those balls open? Do you really know what is inside of them or are you just quoting the words of the manufacturer?

  • @CrumpJuice420 Plasma globes aren't Tesla coils . They use a high frequency high voltage transformer, not similar to a Tesla coil at all. The voltage is very low compared to a Tesla coil, about 5000 volts. The only reason it makes the 'sparks' is because the globe has had a vacuum pulled on it to suck all of the air out, plus a few noble gasses have been added to get the cool colors. I have made something similar to a plasma globe with no gasses added, though i did use tesla coils to power them.

  • It's a Hi-Tech Urinal ....turn it on and you pee on it.

You won't forget this toilet, trust me!

  • A tesla coil is a method to experiment with the properties of Alternating Current. Nikolai tesla wanted to transmit electricity wirelessly, but it was rather impractical (And dangerous).

Now a days, tesla coils are just interesting toys for nerds, scientists and engineers. They have /some/ practical applications, like studying lightning and ions. They can also be used for spectroscopy!

    cheers!

  • tesla coils can also be used as radio transmitters,

if you modulate a coil to about 6Mhz and add some audio, you have a pirate shortwave transmitter; the arc just have to hit a tuned long-wire antenna.

  • LMAO, sounds just like a Harley/2 stroke idling and backfiring xD

  • Cause Harleys are two strokes right?

It sounds like a harley with a lumpy cam shaft.

  • Good

  • sound like fart

  • it looks alive :\

    fuck

  • with a interupter?

  • Very cool! Sounds like someone is humping at hyper speed.

  • lol, sounds like a gun!!!

  • Aside from the constant farting noise... THIS VIDEO FREAKIN PWNS!! I wonder what it would feel like if you touched it..

  • Nothing. You would be dead

  • no not really. it would hurt but its just voltage. not many amps can jump thru the air. it would thro u on ur ass but you wouldnt die.

  • nope, this is high voltage but low amperage and amps is what kills you.

  • Right and it's a high frequency too, so there's the skin effect which allowes you to live ^^

  • sounds like drums

  • new invention- tesla drums !!!!!

  • Tesla coil is cool..Tesla was an aspie. Einstein another aspie considered Tesla the greatest genius of their time.

  • right around twenty-one seconds i realized we MIGHT NOT HAVE TO HANG EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM

  • right around twenty one seconds I KNEW we we might not have to hang each and every one of them-

  • sounds like joey jordison playing the drums

  • yup, fast and random.

    sorry i had to lol

how did you make this? it looks really cool

  • its called a tesla coil. its a high voltage high frequency transformer

  • yea it does

  • Nice!

What use you for a tube?

  • nice gotta be a perfect thing to ignite a spud gun lol

  • thats nuts,

  • Come on, put your head over it!!!

  • Sorry... is it wrong to wonder what would happen if they threw a cat into that thing?

  • no not at all. It would die.

  • Ahahahahaahahahahahahha, blunt, and straight foreward, nice. :D:D

  • Cool sound.

  • aphex twin

  • sounds like a motorcycle popping popcorn

  • double bass pedal

  • OMG! tesla invented Drum and base!

  • u mean bass.

  • He was Serb,if you dont think so,look at wikipedia.Thank you !

  • im just saying wikipedia is not a very reliable source

  • You're right Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source, but the majority of the information on it is valid.

He was born to a Serbian preist.

Where he was born is now modern day Croatia.

    But he was Serbian.

  • make it hand held and batery powered and the army will buy it for 2m a pop

  • theyre making one!

  • Nice :)

  • its an autimated drum set

  • You can do something like this with you car. Just take a plug wire and extend it down to the road. Now if anyone touches your car or truck they get lit up but you are safe in the car, you have the shut you car off Before you get out. My father told me he did this in 1936 to drive through a bunch of men at his job while they were on strike, he was Management.

  • that is the coolest home tesla coil vid i have see yet

  • e for electro :D

  • REMIX!!!!!!!

  • lol, those sounds in the beginning sounds like Aphex Twin. U coud really use them in music

  • THE MILITARY should invest in turning this into a weapon seriously... like a tesla canon that shoots a huge bolt of lightning at some dude and he blows up...ahahaha

  • What a sadistic mind you have but a great idea.

  • but seriously imagin that metal late being a tank or something....it would go bbooomm!!

  • nikola tesla wouldn't ever want that to happen he specifically went about ways to avoid that etc etc i just saw a documentary about it.

the plan he had in mind would decimate armies of millions by harnessing lightning from the ionosphere yadda yadda and make planes within miles drop from the sky simultaneously.

he ultimately decided against it because he was an awesome humanitarian.

  • ever played UT? The Lightning gun is bunk.

  • THEY DID!!!!

    check out the haarp project

  • awesom :D

  • sounds like a two stroke

  • yeah it sounds like an outboard

  • It makes music...

  • it sounds like a really long fart:P

no offense though, u did a really good job

  • Nicely ionized that mother.

  • sounds like music :D

  • stop thinking about CNC red alert

  • I dare you to poke it with a stick

  • I can do that.Electricity cant go trough wood so i would be safe.Unless i had something metal on me the tesla would concentreta in me and i would be a human lightning rod...

  • yeah I know wood is not a great conductor, but with that much voltage it would act like one and shock your ass. Don't try and sound smart if you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

  • Almost sounds like automatic gun fire.

  • this is really cool, did anyone else notice that the arcs create a fractal with increasing complexity as the power is turned up?

  • You mean they branch off and spaz more?

  • pretty much, fractals are gay

  • is the sound made by it coming from the thermionic valves?

  • wooooooooooow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • scarry

  • echt cool, so eine große habe ich noch nicht gesehen. the lightnings are very nice*****

  • this would be a great new way

    to make energy drinks :D

  • literally lightning in a bottle

  • in a game called red alert, they used this as a base defense to electrecute people and tanks. Would it do any damage to human flesh? Seems like you're kind of safe as long as you're not too close to it.

  • probably, it wont kill if developed properly, but many people will be afraid go too close to this...

Tesla was using this as a lamps, to light his laboratory and he could work with it with no harms, BUT he was sometimes shocked , he also lived a long life

  • and these structurees that you say that they are in red alert are called tesla coils

i have a game called tremulous and theyr name is tesla generators

  • yeah it is crazy, but could it really kill someone? and how far can it shoot?

  • can it kill and how far?

well that depends on the energi it is puted to

  • it's surprising. a fellow member of mankind sees a great invention at work which could be used a lot more practically, and what's the first thought? can it kill and how far can i shoot with it. Even the plain thought alone is remarkably stupid. Try to look at this from a different point of view like I am now, I'm pretty sure you'll all shake your heads in disbelief like I'm doing now.

  • gee calm down i didnt wanted to say anithing

    stupid!

someone else made a coment like that and i wanted to say like............ya know what yust forget what i sayed

  • Theres no money in saving lives only destroying them.

  • if we use it as a weapon, it would be hard to control it because tesla coils have sooo much wattage that its impossible to keep it at a steady rate of fire... the thing would just zap anything around it, theres no way to concentrate it a t one spot

  • it cant be healthy standing next to that thing

  • that thing looks deadly :o

  • Sounds cool

  • i agree

  • sounds like an mg Ôô

  • but will it blend

  • lol i was just watching that earlier..

  • what can you do with this?

  • give wireless energy to the world so no one is energy deprived like third world countrys as well as advanced countries. please look up tesla, you will see why people make these tesla coils. greatest scientist ever.

  • looks like a good interogation tool
